It is off the screen and when I move it over, the cart icon works but the scan icon next to it does not. Worse yet, the app said I had $50 in reward money. Twice I went to check out, using the card and was told I had no funds. Never did I get an explanation of why the money was “put” on my card. I called customer service twice. Once I was told to use it as a gift card, which did not work. The second time, I was told that there was no reward, it was mistakenly added. Never any notice from Nations OTC that there was an error. They just kept letting be told in front of other customers that I had no funds! Embarrassing!!!! Update, I just downloaded the app that is supposed to have fixed the issues above and I get an error message. Still not fixed. ### 1/5 — Simplyred *2023-01-01, version 2.38.38* As in the benefits review, this app also will not let me login. Tells me it doesn’t recognize my information. This is ridiculous. Fix this and the other app. People need access to their benefits now more than ever. I’m a senior on a fixed income. I don’t have the money to spend at a store for food much less other items like lotions toothpaste etc. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2022-12-05, version 2.23.33* The app will not work on my iPhone 12 or my pc running the latest version of windows 10. I’ve tried using the last four digits of my SS# and my policy # and it just sits there and never opens. Things scan on the app as being covered then when you go to the register and use your card it’s not covered. We have had numerous conversations with this company and to this day the app still doesn’t work. We went to Walmart and scanned an item this morning and the app says it’s a covered item but it wasn’t paid with the card when we went to the register and it’s the first item we tried to buy this month so we had our entire stipend to use. We are done calling this company. We will be checking to see if our insurance company is going with them again next year, if so we will consider changing our healthcare plan to one that doesn’t use NationsOTC. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2022-06-22, version 2.14.24* This app stinks. Now it says any WalMart product scanned is not covered. And at Walgreens it says it’s covered and will deny it when you get to the register. Please, please clean this app up and make it dependable again! ### 1/5 — Just keeps loading, error message *2022-06-07, version 2.12.22* The IT people and engineer software people should be so embarrassed to not properly test this app for functionality!! It makes you feel you are on an old iPhone 5 lol.. It just keeps loading , then won’t let you go to next page after entering correct birthdate , also says to try member ID number instead.. What a hassle.. Finally, at the end of the poor shopping experience , it will not submit your order it just keeps loading info and you have to end up calling customer service to take and complete your order. Customer service rep told me to delete the app .. Ummmm, well when I did that and finished re-typing all of my info AGAIN , at the top of the home screen there was an error message that stated that my insurance had expired(which is not true), they are supposed to be fixing this issue as we speak! We shall see! What a mess! Fix ASAP!!! ### 1/5 — Nationsotc *2022-05-11, version 2.9.16* Awful! Scanner doesn’t work. Called and the “member experience advisor” told us they had updated the app and we would need to delete and reinstall. Did that, and it didn’t work, deleted again, shut phone down, etc reinstalled AND it still didn’t work! Not only the app, but the benefit card doesn’t work most of the time. This company is NOT A BENEFIT! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-05-02, version 2.8.15* Disappointing is an understatement with this app. Scanner doesn’t recognize eligible products of any type or in any category. Log in information isn’t saved so you need to memorize your plan number. ### 1/5 — KacR22 *2022-04-29, version 2.8.15* This is a terrible app! In CVS scanned 3 items all of which scanned approved. Go to pay and one item is rejected! This has happened to me three times now! Capital Blue needs to get a better OTC provider. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Nations benefits fail *2023-02-27, version 2.38.38* This supplemental benefits program is the worst. You can only order online from their own store where the prices are 2-3 times what they are at the other eligible stores. They claim you can scan products at the others for eligibility, but there is no scanner option on their app. They also claim you can check eligibility by entering the UPC of products from other sources (in my area, Kroger, Meijer, Walmart and CVS) but after trying several UPC’s from the other stores, only 1 item came back as eligible at Walmart while the same generic product from Kroger did not. I placed an order for cough drops from the National Benefits site, but canceled it 10 days later since it still hadn’t arrived. I was never given a delivery estimate or a way to track the order. The only way to determine eligibility at other suppliers is to take the items to the checkout line and roll the dice. A big part of why I stayed with the same Medicare Advantage plan this year was because the Healthy Benefits program for OTC and healthy food supplemental benefits was great. Then they switched over to this price-gouging, broken joke of a system. I’ll be reviewing my options. I wish I had the option of a 0 star rating. It would be more accurate. ### 1/5 — Bring back the original OT nation, wallet app *2023-02-21, version 2.38.38* The other app was better. You can scan all your products and items, and know how much they are, and if they are not approved before going to the register, you have to bring back the original OTC nation at all it to scan the items and make more items of proof with this app. ### 1/5 — I love this *2023-02-13, version 2.38.38* This program is junk the warehouses they ship from is dented cans. I ordered Feb first today is the 13 still haven’t gotten it. 14 dollars for 4 cans of green beans i can get 20 cans for that at Walmart. The only store we have that takes the card is Walmart and cvs . ### 1/5 — Nothing seems to work anymore. *2023-02-07, version 2.38.38* 👎🏼👎🏼 SOCIALIZED MEDICINE DOESNT WORK. As for the other stuff? Groceries aren’t covered. I don’t have any confidence in HMOs. This is a great example of how our society is functioning right now… It isn’t. Socialized medicine might seem like a great idea but it’s just a single minded idea, and so are HMOs. ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service *2023-01-10, version 2.38.38* First of all, went to CVS to buy Pepto Bismol and my card was not accepted yet you can purchase it from the OTC store. Why?? Second, called customer service number four times today and never spoke to a “member service advisor”. Actually on hold right now while I’m typing this. I don’t want to go to Walmart checkout only to find out my usual items not covered. Calling the si-called help number is useless since the caller is kept on hold forever. I used to test websites and apps. Would you hire me to test your app? ### 1/5 — May not be the worst app but in the top 3!! *2023-01-02, version 2.38.38* I spent the better part of a morning with a very patient young female who was trying to help me log in. After several back and forth’s with the engineers we finally got it to work. Now after not using it for a couple months it is impossible to log in again. The app continuously gives me error messages. It’s also impossible to log in using the site. It keeps saying my member ID is wrong, it isn’t and my password is wrong, it isn’t. It’s almost like they don’t want you to order anything. This should be an embarrassment for Florida Blue and could even drive people away. I would give it zero stars if I could. ### 1/5 — useless app *2023-01-02, version 2.38.38* I am a millennial and I handle all of my grandmothers health affairs. This app is junk and its not user error. However this scanner is very frustrating. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. You would think by now they would have the bugs worked out. ### 2/5 — APP NEEDS FIXING MISTT TRY DEFINITELY *2022-12-10, version 2.23.33* Instead of improving the s as pp is worse and at end of year, without try fixes. It does not even scan items any more. I too go to Walmart which we shop groceries & OTC because much better prices. Instead of the scanner it shows their items, not many selections and much higher costs. At Walmart I have to make multiple trips to find items that FI NOT get credited at the register. I continually have to return items and try to find others that I do not have to pay for. If it continues with NationOtc I may think about switching my Medicare elsewhere. I contacted about this issues, to no regards for us the beneficiaries. I’ve lost benefits & spend on travel to go elsewhere where I can get mouthwash for example. It defeats the purpose. FIX IT OR I’LL WRITE MY REVIEWS ELSEWHERE ### 2/5 — FIX THE ITEM SCANNER!!! *2022-11-15, version 2.23.33* Nations told me to download the app to scan for OTC items in approved stored. I use Walmart. (No use gettin to the register with a bunch of items and they are not covered). It should be simple. I have a ProMax13. I should have no issues scanning. This app is junk. You hold the scanner, it “might” scan. You enter the UPC manually and it automatically says ineligible item, 65% of the time they are eligible, it lies. After 3 or 4 minutes of coaxing it will finally scan. Go to the store when it’s slow, it might take a while. The OTC program itself is 5*, the app would be also if they fixed the scanner. ### 2/5 — App is buggy *2022-05-23, version 2.10.20* I have to delete and reinstall the app. Every time I use it, if not it runs and runs and fails to load. The OTC card is touted as a plan benefit but there’s very little here for a healthy person.
