### 2/5 — Really wanted to like it

*2021-04-17, version 1.31.0*

Been trying {N} on and off over the years, really wanted to like it given the impressive features and the ease of playground from the very start. But the documentations and --help results are just terrible, as times completely wrong. Then to add insult to injury the playground app currently at v6 is a behind the v7 boilerplate typescript vue example. Migrating to v8 further causes crash on launch with file:///app/bundle.js:18:83: JS ERROR ReferenceError: Can't find variable: TNS_ENV

### 2/5 — Stuck on crash

*2020-05-29, version 1.30.0*

No way to resolve fatal crash as it loads your last session on resume so closing and reopening the app won’t do. You have to delete and reinstall the app. Maybe send a reset command when then new scan event is fired from the playground app? This way when a new QR Code is read the previous session is completely destroyed. Thanks.

### 1/5 — Stuck with previously previewed app data

*2020-03-19, version 1.30.0*

If open the app preview still it show previously open app, it not show new app preview unless am uninstall it, I dint find any option to clear the previous app cause or else automatically not clearing previous app data. It just kill the work time

### 1/5 — To many times it crashes without a reason

*2020-03-03, version 1.29.0*

Hours and hours of work, then suddenly crashes and there's no way to restore it. At that point it crashes even with the default application.

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing

*2020-02-19, version 1.29.0*

I created a new project using one of the provided templates and ran a preview through nativescript sidekick but after playing around on the app preview it suddenly showed an error that says “oops, something is wrong” with a long error message. After that, I couldn’t preview anything anymore. Just crashes and shows the same error message.

### 2/5 — Cool when it works.

*2020-02-14, version 1.29.0*

Constantly crashes now.

### 1/5 — Poor performance

### 1/5 — Dumb

### 1/5 — Error CSS App Preview

### 1/5 — Error UI

Don't effect css in app.css
Please, fix it

### 1/5 — Buggy Beyond Use

*2019-08-19, version 1.23.0*

As a full-stack developer, I can safely say this is one of the worst applications to test with. This app alone pushed me to become more proficient with React Native. It crashes constantly, stops hot reloading, and even on new projects following the sites instructions to the letter, it will crash and throw nonsense errors. Stay away.

### 1/5 — Totally unusable

*2019-08-07, version 1.23.0*

How can the NS team make such buggy and user-unfriendly framework? The app keeps producing tons of errors at the very first time, or just not responding anything. Using NS is a lot more complicated and frustrated than traditional native development.

### 1/5 — Preview not working

*2019-06-04, version 1.21.0*

When i preview it showing last app preview always

Every time i need to uninstall and re install again everytime

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic

Grate app for NS dev

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2023-09-19*

Very good application to develop in native with NativeScript quickly!

### 5/5 — Incredible piece of technology

*2020-10-15, version 1.30.0*

This app has revolutionized how easy it is to get mobile app development started. Sure there are some errors you have to recognize and deal with, but that's what you get when doing development. On some occasions, there are errors that are unfixable generated by your own code (never ending loops, deep underlying errors, etc) but they can be solved by just uninstall and reinstalling. :)

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2018-05-12, version 1.12.0*

This is super clean and cool! I love the NativeScript apps

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2018-05-01, version 1.11.0*

Awesome framework
Nice features
Keep up NativeScript Team!!!

### 4/5 — Easy to Use and Super Useful

*2023-02-12, version 2.0.6*

I’ve been loving using this app to work on mobile apps I’m developing with SvelteNative.

The reason this review is 4 instead of 5 is because a bug which currently exists - if your code causes an error, the preview app will tell you as much. It also tells you that you don’t need to restart the app - once you fix the error in the code, the app should refresh. This, however, does not happen. The only way to fix this is to terminate the session completely and restart (new QR code, new session). That said, restarting the sessions only takes a few moments, so it’s not a world-ending inconvenience or anything: but I’d implore the developers to look into it.

All in all, this is a development workflow tool that I’m super glad exists.

### 4/5 — Beautiful Apps

*2018-04-15, version 1.10.0*

NativeScript is the best framework to create apps multi-platform! Nice Telerik.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t seem to work with 18.2

*2024-12-06*

My app worked fine until I updated to 18.2. I made no changes except updating and I get a ton of unfixable errors it seems

### 3/5 — How to return to components after app preview

*2021-03-21, version 1.31.0*

No way return back to preview NativeScript components after we preview app.

### 3/5 — Good to develop mobile app

*2020-09-01, version 1.30.0*

When i create/generate a helloworld template app and i run it on preview app, it’s crash (iphone 6s, ios 13.6.1). On the build screen the error say that the version of framework it is not compatible (6.5 vs 7.0). The framework preview app version is too old (could you upgrade the framework preview app ?).
