### 5/5 — I’m learning so quickly!

*2026-05-18*

I’ve never rated an app before but wow, this one has been SO helpful! I’ve been using it every day for 6 months and I am amazed by how much I’ve been able to learn. I did DuoLingo for a few years and got basically nowhere, but with Natulang I am so excited to already know about 800 words! It feels like magic—thank you to the creators of this app for helping me on my Spanish journey. I can’t recommend this app enough :)

### 5/5 — Use this to cement your other studies

*2026-05-17*

I gush about this tool to everyone that will listen to me. This is single-handedly making my proficiency with vocabulary learned from other programs stick three to five times faster, become immediately usable in actual real world conversations, and inspires me to keep learning (when otherwise learning can feel a little hopeless). You can not learn a language with just one tool/system/app, but whatever you're using, you should also use this to put it all together. I have been learning a new language for almost four years, and the amount of growth I have had in the last WEEK using this app has allowed me to start easily grabbing new and old vocabulary and assemble it with tricky grammar in real world conversations with people. I can also understand spoken language way better—a serious challenge with learning primarily through text!

All this said, it comes with the caveat that I don't use or suggest using the AI conversations on account of the world being on fire. But everything else? Far worth the price of admission, and the generous trial period is fair and offers a good sense of what you're in for.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2026-04-28, version 1.5.137*

Speaking French regularly is now fun and no longer a chore, thanks to Natulang

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-04-27, version 1.5.137*

Phenomenal for language learning! Best app, I have used as a long time language learner.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-03-07, version 1.5.129*

Love this app! One piece of feedback is I’d love to be able to progress through lessons part way and pick them back up again, and for the flash cards I’d love if after I pick the right answer I could tap again to immediately go to the next word. The transition can be wayyyy too slow if you’re super confident in the word and just want to blow by

### 4/5 — Needs more work

*2026-02-24*

Great concept but implementation lacks. I spent two months to get to the lesson 50 of Spanish, while being in Mexico City, and I still struggle to order food because vocabulary is not made with survival Spanish in mind. I can say though that there is a dog on top of a house - which doesn’t help me to avoid staying hungry. Ademas, the intonation is all over the place and incorrect in many places. Glad I asked Gemini to teach me into intonation rules because my pronunciation was getting bad.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. If you want Mexican intonation please select a Mexican voice. We don’t aim to teach you “survival phrases.” Our goal is to teach you Spanish in all its beauty, and we optimize for this goal.

### 5/5 — Thanks for this great application 🙏🏻

*2026-02-09, version 1.5.126*

I just started to use this application, and I want to buy the premium but I have some questions, ….
1)- is this app only for beginners? (I use it for Spanish/french)
2)- do you want to add Hebrew? If yes, when?

### 5/5 — Absolutely worth it!!

*2026-01-26*

Love the app.

### 5/5 — The Best

*2026-01-25, version 1.5.123*

After trying many different apps to learn Spanish, I randomly discovered this one and have been using it nearly daily for just around three months now. It’s by far the most fun and it seems like I’m learning faster.
The developer continues to expand the courses and types of languages, and also is even active in reddit.

It reminds me of Pimsluer, but with the extra bonus of the app hearing what you’re saying using a system like Siri.

It also has flashcards and an AI convo feature (standard and custom) included for those that want that. I hope more people sign up so that they can fund more languages and other features over time.

### 5/5 — Use Natulang if you plan on speaking the language you’re learning :)

*2026-01-13, version 1.5.121*

Very pleased with Natulang. It’s much more sentence-based and conversational than Duo. The pacing is good and I really appreciate having to speak in the lessons. Even though I’ve been doing Duo for over 2 years now I’m not great at putting together sentences. Natulang has the right lessons and the right back and forth so I can actually speak the language. Love it!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-01-03*

Really making progress with this app. The way it repeats things really embeds it in the memory and it makes me so much more confident speaking than other methods I’ve tried.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-12-28*

This was the only way which worked for me to make progress with my German. Thanks a lot

**Developer response:** Vielen Dank. Es freut uns sehr.

### 5/5 — Excellent language learning app

*2025-12-14, version 1.5.118*

This is the first language learning app I’ve used that feels like it properly teaches relevant language skills. I’ve used Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, and Jumpspeak. They all missed the mark by either teaching trivial words rather than useful phrases, or by being full on AI slop (Jumpspeak). I can’t recommend Natulang enough.

### 5/5 — Best language app I’ve used

*2025-12-14*

I don’t normally write reviews and I’ve tried a lot of language apps and this is the best one I’ve used. I did purchase the lifetime plan which was not unreasonably priced. The lessons are excellent and teach practical phrases actually used by people. The spaced repetition also works. The only suggestions would make is when practicing conversations it would be nice to get some feedback after the conversation is over.

### 5/5 — Best language app

*2025-11-12, version 1.5.112*

I’ve never found a better app that actually gets you speaking immediately and retaining the new vocabulary. I love this method. I highly recommend getting the lifetime membership.

### 4/5 — 300 lessons?

*2025-10-28, version 1.5.110*

It’s really easy to learn new languages with this app but 300 lessons is too much for me to keep up with.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-10-26*

I’m still kindof learning how to use the app. I wanted to learn how to SPEAK practical polish, not WRITE arbitrary names of animals and food. This hits the spot. There’s some bugs but it’s clear the creators are constantly improving and updating the app. Will recommend.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review. If you find any bugs, please contact us at support@natulang.com and we'll do our best to fix them ASAP

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crashes upon opening

*2024-12-15, version 1.5.29*

Interested in the app but it crashes instantly, I haven’t been able to open it

IOS 15.8.3

### 1/5 — Using this app with headphones is painful

*2024-06-10, version 1.4.56*

The beep is way too loud and the voices are too quiet. The beep is so loud in my headphones it actually hurts my ears. I couldn’t make it through a single lesson. Unfortunately, there are no sound settings in the app and it’s unclear to me if my phones system settings are creating the weird sound distortion.

### 1/5 — Works ~ But Two Major Flaws

*2023-12-23*

1) The lessons are two long. The result: The new material never gets engaged with because I'm tired and stop.

Then, I have to restart, which makes me even more tired, so the lesson never gets completed.

Solution: Break up lessons into segments that you can click on; to cover material at the end without repeating everything.

2) Speech recognition and time wasted:

This is the most serious flaw. The speech recognition has huge problems, often labelling the speech incorrect when it's not.

But this might not be a big deal, except that there is time paused while it waits for you to repeat it. This makes the lesson longer, and your never going to get it right because the speech recognition isn't working correctly in the first place.

Solution: In settings, allow a toggle for shutting off the delay, or the programme realises something is wrong and says, 'We'll keep going', then disables the pausing for a while.

My recommendation:

Nice app, but it's not ready yet.
Needs more development.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with Natulang. You can decrease the waiting delay in the settings, and you can press the 'Skip' button to reduce the waiting time. Please contact me directly at support@natulang.com and I'll do my best to improve the app and fix your issues

### 1/5 — errors

*2023-09-10*

can‘t even get past the beginning because everytime I try to record my voice, it says that theres an error and i should try again. re-download it twice now and nothing changed

**Developer response:** Could you please write an email to support@natulang.com and I'll do my best to fix the issue.

### 2/5 — Speech Recognition Has Problems

*2026-01-07*

I was using it to learn Ukrainian, but had a lot of issues.

As a test, I switched to Spanish, because I can speak Spanish.

Even the English part does not recognise your words.

I got frustrated and gave up.

Great concept.

Poor execution.

### 2/5 — Potential, but…

*2023-10-21, version 1.4.2*

The first few days I fell in love with this app and was like “wow this is what I’ve been missing”. But the past few days with the updates the audio recognition is just terrible. I know my accent isn’t great but compared to duo this app really struggles to recognize what you’re saying. Has potential but still needs work and not with the $10 a month yet.

### 3/5 — very good app, a bit too greedy

*2026-04-23*

The app is very well structured in the way i would use it to practice for sure, but paying ten dollars a month when you only get three lessons free while you also have to teach yourself grammar rules outside of vocal lessons and writing seems a bit expensive especially to cut the sessions at three lessions. Most people going into the app already know some basics of the language so it feels like by the time you learn what you do from the three free lessons you feel like it was a waste of time since you’re immediately paywalled. I’m not saying the developers shouldn’t be paid at all but it’s very extreme and will turn most people going into the app not expecting it.

**Developer response:** We are a tiny team trying to do our best making this app, and your review seems unfair.
	1.	You have a full week of free trial in addition to 3 free lessons.
	2.	You can evaluate your level and not start from lesson 1, but have 3 free lessons later (e.g. you passed the evaluation to lesson 120, so you can complete 120, 121, 122, or 50, 80, 120) to see the content. And don’t forget the free trial week.
	3.	$10 a month is lower than most of the competitors, especially with real-time speech functions.

### 3/5 — No me permite seleccionar español

*2026-03-23, version 1.5.129*

Mi idioma nativo es español. Bajé el app para aprender francés. En la configuración inicial, no me permite seleccionar español como el idioma que hablo. La única opción es inglés.

### 3/5 — how far can i go?

*2024-07-15*

I have just come across your app as a blind user, duolingo just boring for me as a language lover, but how far will i go in proficiency after the 318 lessons? will i speak in the past, future, present, etc? also, are you adding more languages? I am learning spanish but want continue Portuguese and Greek to add to my fluent French as an English native. can we also change the voice that reads to us?

**Developer response:** You can reach a B2ish level. Yes, after finishing the whole course, you’ll be able to speak fluently, watch movies, and consume native content. Yes, we plan to add more languages. No, you can’t change the voice.

Is there any specific reason why you rated us 3 stars? Please let me know, and I’ll do my best to improve the app.

### 3/5 — Good for the beginners

*2024-06-23*

This app is good for beginners. The conversations are really helpful for basic French. The stories are also interesting. My issues with this app is in regards to the lack of toggles and flexibility. There is little we can personalize to our needs.

It says that it will only take 15 minutes however I have spent 30 minutes doing the lesson because when it’s finished with the original lesson, it decides to do a recap lesson that takes just as long. There should be an option to skip the recap.

I also don’t like when you skip the question because you don’t know what it is instead of giving you the answer it makes you guess words that you are so simple and you already know instead of just giving the answer so you can move on.

With more complex sentences this AI becomes deaf. it also cannot tolerate the background noise of my air conditioner. This does not work with AirPods. You can’t really multitask which is fine but the lessons don’t need to be so long. I found myself getting so frustrated with this AI not listening or hearing the sentences that I’m saying correctly.

I’ve recommended this app to friends. I pay for the subscription. But I think I’m going to stop soon because this is becoming more of a chore and less fun the more chapters I do. Since I’ve completed so many chapters (151) there’s just so much to recap and it’s endless and frustrating. There should probably be a timer to show the amount of time left in a lesson counting it down. You also should be able to save your progress so that you can leave the app without having to start all over again.

I’ve been late to class trying to get to an end of a lesson but it is NEVER ENDING.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for the review. I’ll do my best to improve the app so it’s more convenient and works better for you.

There is an option in settings that allows you to select how many words you review in a single repetition session. Please select fewer words, and the session will be shorter. Also, if you exit during a repetition session, the app saves your progress without any issues. The repetition session itself is based on scientifically proven intervals and repetition numbers. So if you have too many words to recap, I advise you to focus on the repetition sessions without completing new lessons until you repeat all the words/phrases.

Speech recognition is a challenging task and isn’t perfect by any means, but we are working hard to improve it.
If any specific issues - don't hesitate to contact me at support@natulang.com and I'll do my best to fix them. -Max

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — If you freeze when you have to speak, this app is for you!

*2026-08-18*

I love this app. For me I have a reasonable grammatical knowledge of German to an A2 level and have done weekly lessons, self taught lessons and intensive courses in Germany but still froze when I had to speak. This app and the Pimsleur app unlocked this fear. I look forward to doing the lessons everyday. I just hope the developer keeps adding to the number of lessons. Brilliant!

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2026-08-13*

One of the best language apps I’ve used. The courses are very comprehensive and get you speaking quickly. The app developer Max is constantly updating the app and adding new useful features. Great active community too! Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Best app for speaking

*2026-08-09*

Best app for speaking not so much listening … but you learn to build sentences. Fast I used this to learn Spanish and now Portuguese!

### 5/5 — Amazing !

*2026-08-03*

I’ve tried many apps and this is BY FAR the best. So immersive. So smart. Easy to use. Actual useful phrases. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2026-07-13*

Helps you learn quickly with speaking and repetition!

### 5/5 — The best language learning app

*2026-07-08*

This app is so good. I have tried every single app there is for learning languages, all of which had major reasons for me not wanting to continue.

This app is completely different. The structure of the course allows complete beginners to start speaking from day 1, and the structure provides progressively challenging lessons, meaning that the lessons are challenging, but not too difficult where you lose motivation. The voice recognition (for the most part) is great. So far I’ve learned so much so quickly from this app.

The only suggestions I would make is to have more lessons for some of the languages like Czech, and more importantly to be able to exit the app while the lesson continues, and/or to autoplay to the next lesson to allow usage when driving.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the review. We are adding new Czech lessons every week. Eventually, it will have the same 300 + 60 lessons as all the other courses.

### 5/5 — Lots of promise

*2026-06-07*

The best of the speaking apps I’ve tried. Would be great to see more lessons added - Czech for example doesn’t have that many.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review. We are adding 6 new Czech lessons every week

### 5/5 — No progress reset

*2026-05-31, version 1.5.144*

Maybe I missed it but I couldn’t find a way to reset your progress. Picked up Spanish again and wanted to start over with the app.

### 5/5 — My teacher noticed

*2026-05-26, version 1.5.144*

I started communicating in better French and I can feel the difference. This isn’t recreational language learning, so you’ll need to construct real sentences without visual aids or gamified reward systems. It respects you and pushes you. That’s why it works.

### 5/5 — Best app to learn French

*2026-05-25*

I can’t express in words how much I love this app, definitely saved my life as I am learning French to get B2 in TCF
