## What is Nauto ELD?

Nauto ELD is an FMCSA certified mobile app that supports the Electronic Logging Device mandate, supporting a range of rulesets to keep drivers compliant. It provides a driver-friendly interface for logging Hours of Service for drivers and co-drivers, Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports and fuel purchases to support IFTA tax reporting. Notifications alert the driver to potential violations to prevent infractions.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-06-15

Bug fixes and improvements:

- Fixed diagnostic events occurring outside valid power cycles
- Location field read-only when set to Auto in log edits
- Detects stale odometer and raises ESDD diagnostic
- Local notifications added before PWDD events for background users
- Sequence counters now sync to server via Alert API
- Auto-shutdown after 30s BLE disconnect
- GPS staleness validation for Geometris data
- ESCM triggered on BLE disconnect during active driving
- ECM fallback validates VIN before using cached engine data

### 1.3.7 — 2026-05-28

- Intermediate log backfilling during background operation removed to improve log consistency.
- Login, Logout, and Certification sequence ID handling migrated from server to device for enhanced accuracy.
- PWDD now triggers in the background when the driver is in Driving or PC status.
- Sequence ordering issues corrected for better event synchronization and audit reliability.

### 1.3.5 — 2026-05-05

• Should trigger a Position Compliance Malfunction whenever actual location coordinates are missing from the past hour's capture.
• Location will be taken only from the ELD/hardware, not from mobile GPS.
• ELDs must automatically record a new driving entry when the device disconnects and reconnects within 5 minutes while the vehicle is in motion.
• ELDs must not include data elements (location, odometer, engine hours) sourced from a running engine in manually entered past events, or when the ELD is disconnected from a running engine.
• A power malfunction or diagnostic event will be triggered if there is a difference in odometer or engine hour values between the last shutdown and the next power-up event.
• Backfilling ECM values (Odometer/Engine hours) for login/logout events are not expected.
• MRDD should trigger for power-up and shut-down events when the required ECM data (Odometer, Engine hours, or location) is missing.

### 1.3.4 — 2026-02-05

Per ELD timing compliance requirements, the system must monitor whether the time on the driver's phone is accurate and compliant.

To address this, the system must:
• Detect manual changes to the phone's date or time
• Provide a diagnostic event when the device time is adjusted manually
• Trigger a timing compliance malfunction if the device time is out of sync beyond the allowed threshold

### 1.3.2 — 2026-01-15

No release notes.
