### 3/5 — Feature request

*2024-02-04, version 1.7.11*

Pls add ALNAVRESFORs, ForceConnect messages, OpsAlerts for CPPAs, PPIBs, MPAs and the ability to add the feed as a news widget.

### 2/5 — Used to be Good now Trash

*2023-12-03*

Search, notifications and access to relevant NAVADMIN used to be key. Now it’s just easier to go online in safari to figure out what’s going on. It gets the second star because it lets me know to go to safari to check it out. Id take a functional app with ads.

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2023-03-06, version 1.7.11*

If you want to view older NAVADMINs you have to pay $5. Other than that it’s convenient.

### 1/5 — Pay wall seriously?

*2022-12-24, version 1.7.9*

When I first got this app it was great but now there is a pay wall for NAVADMINs that aren’t the 3 latest. I guess I’ll just go back to the website that has them all for free.

### 2/5 — You have to pay now

*2022-12-23*

Why would you pay for something that gets sent to the fleet for free?

### 1/5 — Nope

*2022-12-05*

It was a good app but I’m not going to pay money to view messages. Yea yea, I see your comments about supporting development costs. Sure, it costs something for you to do but not what you’re asking. Set up a Patreon and ask for donations or set up a tip jar. But $5 is a joke. It’s only a few more clicks to go to the MyNavyHR site.

Deleted this app.

### 1/5 — Poor development

*2022-11-07*

I used to live this application because while on travel, pcs, or as a quick reference it was a quick way to have navadmins at my fingertips for a search or easy review. Limiting review to the most three recent and having to pay $4.99 to see anything older is ridiculous. There are times where 5-7 admins can come out on any given day. Unfortunately I will not longer be utilizing the application for its initial intended purpose.

### 1/5 — Older messages behind a paywall.

*2022-10-26, version 1.7.5*

Considering you can look at every NAVADMIN for free online, the $5 cost to read messages older than the most recent three is unjustified.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2022-10-26, version 1.7.5*

At first I wondered why the Navy was charging 5$ for this app. Now I realized that it is not the Navy charging but a random person. That fact alone is even worse that a person wants money for a copy and paste app. STRAIGHT TRASH!!!!

### 1/5 — $$

*2022-10-21, version 1.7.5*

$5 a year? Was a nice app til they started charging but definitely not worth $5 a year

### 1/5 — Crummy subscription

*2022-10-18*

App used to be perfect for years and I told all my junior sailors to download it. Not so much now that you can o my view the last three messages. Where does this subscription money go? What further development do we need on the app? It already works perfectly as intended for years. Uninstalling and using reliable Petty Officer Google.

**Developer response:** Good afternoon, app proceeds go towards all development costs including recurring hosting and storage costs and Apple Developer Program cost for this app to be available through the App Store.
Great to hear that NAVADMIN Viewer has worked perfectly from your side for years due to app updates with bug fixes and improvements over 4 years. It's just me keeping the app going.
Your support helps me spend time fixing compatibility issues and experiment with new features for users such as new USG document link detection. I also improve the server when possible to keep the messages updated.

### 1/5 — There’s a charge now?!

*2022-10-17, version 1.7.5*

The app now charges to be able to view messages!! It’s getting deleted off my phone ASAP. What a joke.

### 2/5 — Used to be helpful

*2022-10-13, version 1.7.5*

Now that it's $5 to access the majority of content, it's not as useful.

### 1/5 — You got greedy

*2022-10-03*

Only viewable for the past three. That is a poor business model. If you want revenue put in some adds you will get more revenue from adds than paid subscriptions

Thanks for your suggestion. I would rather not force you to watch a candy crush video ad each time you view a message. No-ads is a better experience to users and generates more revenue for app development and operations. Users’ time saved is worth more than $4.99 (less than 2 meals underway)." - Dev

I would disagree, as someone who has a degrees in Information Sciences and Technology and who has worked in Psychology for over a decade. But to each there own. I don’t know about my brothers and sisters , but I would much rather go through a small add then pay a monthly sub any day! 😎🤙. - former Sailor of 12 years / Data Scientist

😂 just please no wish ads 😂

**Developer response:** Thanks for your suggestion. I would rather not force you to watch a candy crush video ad each time you view a message.
No-ads is a better experience to users and generates more revenue for app development and operations. Users’ time saved is worth more than $4.99 (less than 2 meals underway).
I see your reply. Ad revenue for this app is dead on arrival due to no ad networks reliably supporting offline bid and monetization. Forced engagement is...iffy. Sponsorship may be feasible but the NEX doesn't seem interested.

### 1/5 — Asking for Money from Leaders!

*2022-09-29, version 1.7.2*

This app has been great but recently to see more than 3 messages they want Navy Leaders to pay $4.99/yr! This is material we need to guide Junior Sailors on a daily basis! Sad that every just wants to make money these days.

### 1/5 — Subscription?!

*2022-09-27*

The principle in paying $4.99/year is insulting. You need to know some of these these for your job, however, we’re going to make you pay for being informed. This is a disappointment.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Users get live notifications and can read the latest messages for free. I am sorry that you are disappointed. Contributions support development of this independent app.

### 1/5 — Update

*2022-09-25, version 1.7*

New update has you pay. It was nice while it lasted. Now I’ll just use the actual website

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t Pay

*2026-01-05, version 1.7.12*

Why pay for something you can get for free? The Navy/Marine Corps gives provides this for free so to charge any amount of money is ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Would be a waste of money to pay for this apps services

*2025-05-21*

Why pay for an app when the webpage can be saved to the home screen and retrieved for free. Quicker than the app because of data usage at that.

### 1/5 — Why pay?

*2024-11-15, version 1.7.11*

It doesn’t make sense to pay for something that is free on myNavyHR… give the consumer something new or get ad revenue. Business model does not make sense.

### 1/5 — No Longer Worth It

*2024-06-30, version 1.7.11*

Only allows viewing of last 3 NAVADMINS. If you want more, you have to pay. Recommend just saving MyNavyHR message link in your phone browser.

### 1/5 — wow! really?

*2023-10-26, version 1.7.11*

I’ll just go to the web then.

### 1/5 — Paywalled & Uninstalling (2023)

*2023-06-28*

I find it quite disheartening that this application, intended to support Sailors and Marines, has implemented a paywall. Despite reading the explanations for this change, I'm yet to be convinced of its necessity. I'm curious whether big Navy is comfortable with their public messages being monetized by a second party.

### 1/5 — Deleted

*2023-04-26, version 1.7.11*

I can see ALL the NAVADMINS on the MyNavyHR Website

### 1/5 — Was free, and great app. Not now

*2023-02-19, version 1.7.11*

The app used to be free, and was a great reference tool. Now, a “Subscription “ is needed, that means automatic deletion of the app. I will NOT pay a subscription for any app.

### 1/5 — PAYWALL

*2023-02-17, version 1.7.11*

Title and rating is exactly how I feel. There is no reason for it. Aww but the app expenses to run is minimal for such a basic program. Anyway to make a quick buck.

### 1/5 — Once free and useful

*2022-12-24*

I am uninstalling this nonsense since I have to pay 5 dollars in order to view more then the last three na admins that came out. I used to recommend this to sailors to use as a quick guide for info now I tell them to use my navy hr website since that is the only free tool we have now. Shame.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — GREAT APP

*2025-10-31*

I love this app it’s extremely useful but only request I have is if we can have a widget for this app

### 5/5 — Interesting

*2022-08-07*

This data would usually remain in the unclassified servers and their network.

That being said, we should maintain known holes in our defenses.

### 5/5 — Perfect App!

*2022-04-02, version 1.6*

Now let’s get one for the MILPERSMAN!!

### 5/5 — It works again!

*2021-03-13*

Just updating my previous review.

**Developer response:** Good evening, I've updated the app so Navy messages should be updating again. Thanks for your support!

### 5/5 — Notifications don’t work

*2020-09-16*

I do not get notifications when a new navadmin pops. That should be standard. If I’m doing something wrong, please correct me and I’ll make this a 5 star review.

### 5/5 — Just what we needed

*2020-07-10*

I particularly like that a notification pops whenever a new NAVADMIN posts. And searchability is a nice function. Would be even better if when the user shares the link, it references from the original source rather than github.

### 5/5 — Legit!

*2019-12-10*

This is absolutely perfect for keeping up to date and staying on top of things! A great tool to teach young sailors to keep up with as well!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback!

### 5/5 — App

*2019-09-03*

Easy and really convenient to use on the go.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback!

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2019-04-01*

You have made pertinent information readily available to all who use your application! Keep up the great work!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback!

### 5/5 — Outstanding!!!!!

*2018-08-19*

The search option is key, the automatic updates are the icing on the cake. Great Navy app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback!
