I’ll be looking at a zoomed-in view to see where the right bus stop is, and it will zoom out for no reason, with no prompting from me. If you search for a destination, it’ll give transit directions similar to google maps, but google maps does that. I mostly know what bus route I want, but I don’t think this lets you search for a route. When I search for buses that’ll be available around 8:10am from Stops on East Ave going down tower rd it just shows the walking time. I know there are rides from both statler and GSH. There have been too many times where I use the app to find out when the next bus leaves and the bus either does not show up, already left, or ends up being over 15 minutes late (idk if that’s a problem with TCAT or the app). I wanted something that would show me bus routes and where the bus is on the route. That’s not what this app does. So I tried to use it as intended and still found it to be worthless. I was standing at the TCAT 82 bus stop at East Hill Plaza wanting to ride to Statler Hall. First it told me to walk all the way up to CISER to pick up the bus even though I was already standing at the 82 stop. Then it told me to get off at Humphreys Service Building and walk the rest of the way even though the 82 bus stops directly in front of Statler Hall. I’m glad I was already familiar with the route and just wanted to know when the next bus was coming or I would have done a lot of walking for nothing. I’m deleting this app just as fast as I downloaded it. ### 1/5 — Worked great *2023-10-17, version 1.8* Like all things made by students…they stop working. This was great and had a lot of promise but seemingly overnight stopped working when a student graduated leaving a popular app unusable. I’ll come back and change my review when something changes with this. Until I stand by it. Told me to take a 30 second ride to the next stop and then walk 1.5 hours to the airport. Missed my flight. There was a bus that goes straight to the airport and it didn’t show me on the app. I only found out the right bus to take from the bus driver himself. Honestly my fault for using the app without triple checking, because I KNOW the app gives bad information. Just go to tcatbus.com and look at the schedule online. App looks good and useful on the surface but after it ruins your travel plans you’ll realize just how terrible this app is. You’ll start to see all the cut corners. Unfortunately it’s the only option available. This app could be a major improvement to the dumpster fire over at mystopmobile, and I appreciate what you guys are doing. Already the app feels more fluid and is more aesthetically appealing. I love the feature which tells you if the bus is on time. However, if you really want to make a good bus app you need to include an interactive map where you can “find your location” and see the bus stops closest to you on the map. This would make it so much easier to plan routes and quickly find bus stops even if you have no idea where you are. The map should also include visualizations of bus routes that you select.
