This year I’m only getting partial track data saved. I’m losing distance and speed data. I just went to use it again 8/6/26 and it keeps promoting me to buy charts. When I go to buy charts it says I already have a yearly subscription. What’s going on? Frustrating for sure any help would be greatly appreciated ### 2/5 — Didn’t work correctly *2026-07-29, version 24.3.1* I was trying to use this app in Lake Tahoe for fishing. I needed to find an underwater mountain that was at 60’ deep. I positioned myself just above where the app said it would be and I was in 400’ of water. I confirmed this using another boats sonar. It also said I was in 3’ of water when near the shore but it was closer to 20’. The contours were at best a rough estimate. I tried to cancel my subscription but I think it was a day late so now I have this useless app for a year and spent $50 on nothing. *EDIT* Garmin developer response makes no sense to me. Lake Tahoe at best fluctuates seasonally by a few feet not 340 feet that this app was off by. ### 2/5 — Updated version requires annual fees *2026-07-27, version 24.3.1* I used the app for years and loved it, however it now requires annual subscription and lost all my downloaded maps. Not worth it when my fishfinders all have charts, it was just nice to have the maps on, when looking up spots when not on the water. Lost customer. ### 3/5 — App bom porém com ressalvas. *2026-07-22* O aplicativo é muito bom e ajuda em navegações de águas interiores, único defeito é ser somente em Inglês. ### 1/5 — Downgrade functionality to only 2 devices is outrageous *2026-07-20, version 24.3* This review is long overdue, but the functionality downgrade a while ago to support only 2 devices is extremely disappointing to say the least, and outrageous to be more accurate. I have several dedicated marine devices and use(d) Navionics exclusively. Many reasons, including now what I have invested in it - routes, waypoints, tracks, linked photos, etc. Because of the very friendly user interface and very rapid response time of the iPad it is my primary navigation device, with my chartplotter running simultaneously as a check and balance. I have two iPads and 3 iPhones and use multiple of these at any given time depending on what exactly I am doing. Previously I could do this with no worry. Now depending on what I am doing I have to “log out” on a device to be able to use the app on another. Worse, the device names are not meaningful or changeable so basically just randomly disable a device hoping it wasn’t the prime one you were making use of. I have three Navionics subscriptions already, (two plotters and the app) and have had for many many years. I think I’ve “paid my dues”. It is an insult to have my loyalty rewarded with this restriction. I ask this practice be reversed immediately, or at least grandfathered for LONG TIME loyal subscribers. ### 2/5 — Dishonest billing *2026-07-19, version 24.3* I have paid for a subscription for several years. It auto-renews on August 01. On July 10, I opened the app, and it wouldn't work unless I picked a subscription. Why is Garmin double-dipping? This is disingenuous. Useless. ### 2/5 — Credit card *2026-07-17, version 24.3* If your app is any good then why make Ilya cancel. Everyone knows how difficult it is to cancel something. Most companies are betting on the fact that you won’t remember. That’s why you never get an email stating it will be charged before hand. If I use the app and like it then I would pay for it. If I use the app and don’t like it then I have to jump through 10 hoops and be on the phone for 3 hours trying to cancel and ultimately have to dispute with my cc company. Are you that desperate for 49.00? ### 2/5 — iOS update and now it crashes *2026-07-13, version 24.3* I use this to navigate the Great Lakes and love it, but now with a new iOS update the app just crashes at launch. Please fix asap. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2026-07-13, version 24.3* Ceases to update position while underway. Need to refresh it manually continuously. And even then it will show different headings of my boat and different positions on the water. But on the plus side, got to meet a really cool Towboat US employee who pulled us off the shoal Garmin said we weren’t on. ### 3/5 — I loved it before *2026-07-12, version 24.3* I used to have this app and I loved it. It used to be like $16 a month which I was fine paying for. I didn’t have my boat for a couple years because my motor broke. And now it’s like $77 a year. I’m in Canada. I only need this app for like three months out of the year. I cannot justify that money for three months anyways it’s too bad because I love this app. It was great. I think you guys should start offering monthly again because they’re gonna lose people like me that’s just gonna find something else. To bad 😞 ### 3/5 — Nice app with a couple major flaws. *2026-07-11, version 24.3* I’m a paying customer and enjoy many nice features like routing, anchorage reviews, and easy map store. However, I always carry another navigation app (SeaIQ) due to two major issues: (1) the Navionics app randomly requires internet access or it refuses to operate which is unacceptable as many people boat offshore or in remote locations without internet access, and (2) you can only install on two devices at once; I sail with multiple crew and routinely need navigation abilities on 4-6 devices. ### 1/5 — It’s getting worse *2026-07-09, version 24.3* With every update, this app becomes almost impossible to use you can’t download or update charts about half the time. To allow the name of user waypoints, to be overlaid on the chart like other better apps do instead of just an icon. 2. To identify the source of NMEA depth to show if it is “Depth below keel” or “depth below transducer” (important for navigational safety) 3. To be able to create a route from a list of user waypoints and be able to search and add the waypoints to an existing route. 4. To allow wind angle, wind speed and boat speed fields to be overlaid as NMEA data fields in the app. All entirely possible but protectionism in the market place and arrogance torwards their customers seems to be preventing them adding these feature Update - I won’t hold my breath ### 1/5 — Money Thieving *2026-07-25, version 24.3.1* I hate this app so much. I purchased charts in good faith but because I don’t need to purchase this year they lock out basic features that don’t need subscriptions to try to force users into expensive subscriptions. I can’t even create two waypoints as a route and navigate between them. Greed does not make you better than the competition. Has never let me down even with no cell service. Who ever is behind this app must be super genius 💪 ### 5/5 — Great Navigation App. *2026-05-28, version 24.2* I am a fisherman and pleasure boater on KY & Barkley Lake. Garmin is what I use on the fishing boat and I bow loaded it for my phone for my pleasure boat. It is 10X better than the Lowrance for its contours and bottom mapping. I wanted a good app for my phone so I didn’t have to mount a graph onto my pleasure boat. The detailed contours of the coastal creeks near me are by far the best. I can confidently cruise around without running aground. Phone is on a suction cup mount with a battery charger, stays on for hours without issue. Tracks, auto routes, shows tides, wind, weather. Great app. Don’t understand the bad reviews, it’s better than the other apps for me.
