## What is NavRun?

NavRun is for trail and ultrarunners, and I built it because I am one of us.

It reads your real runs and builds training around the runner you are right now. Time on feet, not pace. A long slow day is a big day.

50K to 100 miles. Plans that move when your week moves, race-day pacing and aid-station timing, and a quiet heads-up when your load is climbing faster than your legs.

Free at the door:
- Your training, described and never graded. No scoreboards, no red numbers.
- Time on feet valued over pace. A long slow day is a big day.
- A welcome back whenever you return, with credit for what you have already built.

NavRun Pro, for the long stuff:
- Weekly reports in plain English.
- Race-day strategy: a mile-by-mile plan with weather-adjusted splits and aid-station timing.

The craft of training for an ultra should not be locked away. Almost everything other apps charge for, NavRun gives away free. Pro is monthly or annual, and you can cancel anytime in the App Store.

You are never out here alone.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-04

NavRun has a new mark. It is on the app icon and the launch screen.

Share cards now carry your route and your climb, and there is a sticker version with a transparent background you can drop into a story. There is also a card with no pace on it, for the days that were about time on feet.

Your dashboard reads the taper your plan actually used instead of assuming two weeks.

A week's mileage target is the sum of its days, and the week you are in wins over anything planned ahead of it.

A race you pick from the catalog keeps its own name and its real climb.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-26

YOUR WEEK IS THE WEEK YOU ARE IN

Build next week's plan on a Wednesday and NavRun used to spend the rest of the week telling you about next week, with nothing on the card for today. Today's run is back, whatever else you have planned ahead.

ASK WITHOUT OPENING THE APP

"Hey Siri, what's my run today." Also this week, your records, adding a race, and logging how a run felt. Your runs and races turn up in Spotlight now, so the search on your phone finds them the way it finds everything else.

WHAT THE DAY WAS LIKE

Your runs carry their weather now. Eighty four degrees and humid, or the cold you went out in before it was light. It reads as a sentence on the run, and it fills in behind you on runs you have already done.

NAVRUN ASKS BEFORE IT BUILDS

Building a week starts with a question about the week you are actually walking into. Tell it what you have, and the week comes back shaped around that.

THE AI SWITCH IS YOURS

Turn it off and no model writes your week or reads your runs back. The screen that asks sets out what you get with it beside what you keep without it, and asking for a week still gets you one either way, built from your own running. Before a run gets read back, you can see what kinds of thing get sent. One thing stays on whichever you choose: what your crew sends you in a live session gets checked before you hear it.

YOUR RACE, FROM THE CATALOG

Adding a race can start from NavRun's own race catalog, so the distance and, where we have researched it, the climb come in already filled. Or type it in like always.

ALSO IN HERE

A different NavRun mark greets you each time you open the app fresh, and the name inside the app is the finished one now.

Your splits are miles again.

The app stopped signing you out when a sync in the background met an old token.

I am one ultrarunner with a day job, building this for the community that made me. If something in here is wrong, write to me at navrun.app/support and you get me.

Whatever you are out here for, you are not out here alone.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-11

OUT HERE

The thing I most wanted NavRun to do, it does now. Start a session and one link goes to your people. They see where you are and how you are moving, live, with no account and nothing to install. Then they hold a button and their voice reaches you: mile 80 of a hundred, mile 10 of a 50k, deep in the night. Being accompanied is free, and it stays free.

RACE WEEK, ON YOUR PHONE

Build your race plan from the app instead of going to find a laptop. Aid stations are yours to edit: add one, fix a mile marker, mark where your crew can reach you, note what is in the drop bag. And the race day list, headlamp, spare socks, the thing you always forget, is free for everyone and one tap from the start line.

YOUR PLAN KNOWS WHICH RUN WAS THE RUN

A day you ran used to sit on your plan with nothing next to it. Now your run links itself to the day it was for, on its own. Two runs in a day both count. A walk or a hike is credited as time on your feet, because that is what it is. A trail run is a run. It never says you missed it.

ANSWER THE WEEK NAVRUN WRITES YOU

When a week goes sideways NavRun writes you another way through it. Take it, keep the week you had, or change one day before you take it. Any hard run still ahead can become an easy run: same day, no pace to hit, nothing else in your week moves.

A FIRST WEEK IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD ONE

Nothing synced, nothing logged? You still get a week. Walking and running, laid out in minutes on your feet rather than miles, building on whatever you show it next.

ALSO IN HERE

Four screens when you open the app for the first time, saying why NavRun exists before it asks you for anything. Signing up asks one question now.

Your photo in the top right opens your profile, with "Who can see you": every link you have out, and a way to close each one.

The app is pine now, the same colour as the rest of NavRun, and easier to read in the dark.

A hundred miles of splits fits on one screen, so you can see where you faded.

Records and best efforts open the run behind them.

I am one ultrarunner with a day job, building this for the community that made me. If something in here is wrong, write to me at navrun.app/support and you get me.

Whatever you are out here for, you are not out here alone.
