However, it is white print on light gray background which is difficult visually. It would really help to have white on black or black on white. Sadly, I would have taken away more stars for the overall graphics but it is such a great memory system that I hated to do that. ### 4/5 — Glad to find on App Store *2025-02-24* My parents learned the TMS verses in the 1970s, and they were among the verses they taught us when we were growing up. It’s great to find this system in digital form. Thanks for presenting it! While an older design is fine with me, I’d really like to see this presented in more accessible colors. The light blue on light background is hard to read. I’m looking forward to brushing up on section 1 and moving ahead to the later sections I didn’t learn as well when I was young. Is there such a option? Could there be? **Developer response:** Unfortunately the limited "real estate" on an iPhone screen causes other scrolling challenges if we enlarge the font. Sometimes we forgot a verse and need to refocus on it. Also, could you allow user to select the version for each verse? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Disappointed DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP *2022-01-02, version 2.0.1* I wanted to brush up on my Topical Memory System verses I memorized 30 years ago to start off the new year. After I downloaded the app and paid the $4.99, I hit the begin button and it went to the Let’s Begin page. It was stuck on this page and would do nothing. My bad for not reading reviews before my purchase. ### 1/5 — Why did you have to put a so called image of Jesus? *2021-05-29, version 2.0.1* I was shocked to see the so called image of Jesus. Total turn-off. I’ve used TMS and worked with Navs for years. This image caused me to withdraw my recommendation for other people of color to use the app. Come on - this is the 21st century — Jesus is not a western cultural icon that only white people can relate to. Suggests you lose the image. ### 1/5 — A vital tool desperately needing an update *2021-02-21* Having used the physical TMS for years, this app, unfortunately, not only underwhelms but proves as deficient as previous ill reviews attest. While an awesome idea, the UI looks like something from well over a decade ago, it lacks versatile custom settings, and upon purchasing and trying to set a User, the text box wouldn't even display the letters I was typing as I typed them. And then it proceeded to crash constantly as I tried to navigate to another page. Further, the app developer’s developer site doesn’t even exist. I emailed via Info > Feedback a review, but not sure how far that will go. And, yes, my iOS is up to date. The Navigators have long existed as an exemplary organization that provides vital, practical, AND functional tools for the Gospel. But this app is sadly a disgrace compared to the rest of their superb resources. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2020-06-18, version 2.0* It only allows you to memorize a handful of verses without the option to add your own verses. I've tried restarting my phone as well as deleting and downloading the app again. Does not include the visual diagrams from the hard copy TMS system. Disappointing coming from a great organization like Navigators. ### 2/5 — Desperately needs an update *2021-02-16* The system is good, but the app desperately needs to be updated. Seems like it hasn’t been improved in a decade. You cannot increase the font size and the user interface is clunky. The navigation doesn’t flow like you’d expect for apps in 2021 but more like apps a decade ago. This could easily be a five star app if they’d hire an app developer to fix the UI. ### 3/5 — Can’t change version and font is white *2021-05-04* I really love this app for memorizing but with 57 year old eyes-the verses are in white and it’s hard to see. Also, I didn’t realize once I chose a version I couldn’t change it. NASB -I would like the NIV but have yet to figure out a way to change. **Developer response:** Just go back to the "TMS Bible Memory" page and click "Add New Person". There you can enter your same name (or not) and choose a different translation. It is good practice to keep your translations separate, which this app does for you. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — TMS is my favorite. *2025-11-16* The memory “hook”, ex. “Christ the Center” should be in the left hand column not in the center. Then the scripture. The paper copies have it correct. This would be better in anki software to make it easier to memorize. Retention is easier with Anki. ### 5/5 — Great App I am enjoying it so much *2023-03-14* I first used the TMS system when it first came out this app is a fantastic review for me. I first learned all the vs in KJV but taught quizzing using NIV and NASB so I was very confused inventing my own version with parts of all those translations now a friend and I are using the NKJV as sort of an in between translation. She is doing it for the first time we encourage each other and test each other. I am trying to get my grandkids to use it too. Lots of activities for review you can even record and play back to see if you got a verse down or not. Get the whole family involved and see some real spiritual growth happening it gives you points for memorizing and reviewing verses. ### 5/5 — NavsTMS *2023-01-29* Great memorization app!!! ### 5/5 — Josephus *2023-01-25* Excellent for memorization. All learning styles of audio, visual, and kinesthetic(tactile) are employed. Of course a measure of discipline is required as memorization does not occur magically! Bottom line you will reap maximum benefits if you use this app with maximum effort. Be DISCIPLINED! Use this app every day even when you are drained! You are feeding yourself with the Word of the Living God!👍👍 ### 5/5 — Great way to have God’s word hidden in your heart *2021-12-12* This is a brilliant app! You can choose which Bible version you want to learn from then it gives you lots of encouragement to learn and review the verses you are learning. I had the book years ago but this version is just as good and I have it with me wherever I go. Would absolutely recommend this. I found this app while sitting in a tree stand waiting for deer and instantly purchased and started reviewing my verses. This is a great tool to use along with my prayer time in the woods! Well worth the cost and I have found no problems with it whatsoever.
