My issue or big con is the bank’s app and website crashing several times and phone lines being down. No one can access accounts, pay bills, or use bank cards during this time. It’s an inconvenience. No matter the lighting, framing, updates, etc, the image always remains an error with left side blurry. Their app is always under maintenance and the online tellers are not able to transfer money. Don’t risk this, use BofA instead as they are the most consistent ones I have had so far and reliable ones. I can’t think of a bad experience I’ve ever had with NFCU. They have opened more branches in my area making it easy to bank in person, plus a stand alone ATM close to my house. So convenient. I understand maintenance is necessary, but I’ve noticed outages happening fairly often, including recent Zelle maintenance and now account access overnight. These outages can be very inconvenient for members who manage their finances in the evening. I’d appreciate either less frequent maintenance when possible or more advance notice and shorter maintenance windows or even maybe overnight maintenance instead. However, one feature I’d love to see is the ability for members to add a profile picture to their account. Many other banks and credit unions already offer this, and it makes the app feel more personalized and modern. Navy Federal regularly releases updates with new features and improvements, so I’m hoping this is something the development team will consider adding in a future update. It may seem like a small feature, but it would make the member experience feel more complete.
