### 1/5 — Not representative of NFCU

*2025-06-26, version 1.18.1*

This app has been awful for years. It in no way measures up to NFCU standards. There’s always password issues. It’s very difficult to quickly transfer funds, especially with multiple cards on your account. It asks for your security code every single time, even though it’s your account. It’s not user friendly. It’s bulky and outdated. I wish there was a simpler way to reload funds but it’s ridiculous. This was supposed to be a good budgeting tool for us, like a cash allowance type deal but it’s too buggy to maintain. Developers really need to fix this.

### 1/5 — Worst financial app ever

*2025-06-22, version 1.18.1*

Not reliable. Antiquated. Too many requests for passwords. No quality of life upgrades such as password autofill. Biometric needs reset way too often. App takes a long time to load and refresh. App sometimes doesn't work at all. Very frustrating and have been looking for an alternative.

### 1/5 — Frustrating to Use

*2025-06-02, version 1.18.1*

Every time I try to log in, despite using the correct information and even resetting my password to make sure, it never lets me. I shouldn’t have to delete and redownload the app every time just for it to work. I would not recommend going with the prepaid card with NCFU.

### 1/5 — Can’t login!

*2025-05-14, version 1.18.1*

I can’t login even tho my information is correct

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-04-20, version 1.18.1*

Download this app but can’t even launch it.

### 2/5 — App inop?

*2025-04-04, version 1.18.1*

I don’t typically have problems logging in to move cash to my kid’s cards. Today, one asked me to move $$ and each time I attempted to log in, the screen flashed from logged in to immediately being logged off. Attempted multiple times. The app was just updated the other day to “fix bugs”. Instead, it appears they were created.

### 1/5 — Terrible usability

*2025-03-11, version 1.18.0*

Can’t login. Credentials work fine on computer. But app is useless. Customer service rep was not helpful, mumbled and told me I didn’t have the credentials to do anything related to the card even though I set the account and card up, it’s funded through my account and my child is a minor. Time to revamp Navy Federal!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-03-10, version 1.18.0*

Just throw away the whole app and start again. I can never log in, if I do log in and set my biometrics it resets it, if you get past that then it’s a pain to load money onto the card. Just a waste of time, effort, and space on my phone.

### 1/5 — Navy Federal GO Prepaid App Performance and Usability Issues

*2025-02-22*

Navy Federal GO Prepaid App Performance and Usability Issues

The Navy Federal GO Prepaid app, designed to offer convenient prepaid card management, unfortunately falls short in delivering a reliable and user-friendly experience. A recurring and critical issue is the app’s inability to consistently load money onto the prepaid card — a fundamental feature for any financial service application.

Users frequently report technical glitches, failed transactions, and an overall lack of functionality, creating frustration and undermining the app’s intended convenience. Given Navy Federal’s strong reputation in the financial sector, this app’s outdated performance does not align with the high standards customers expect.

It is imperative that the developers prioritize significant investment into modernizing the app’s infrastructure. Enhancements in stability, user interface, and transaction processing capabilities would not only resolve existing issues but also strengthen customer satisfaction and trust.

Addressing these challenges swiftly through updated technology and more responsive support will reflect Navy Federal’s commitment to providing top-tier digital financial services.

### 1/5 — Jump down

*2025-02-17*

Log in issues same as so many. Unless have to web browser to use.

### 2/5 — An exercise in frustration

*2025-02-16, version 1.18.0*

This application it’s never the best even when it was found inside of the Navy Federal app. I grew with the previous reviewer who states that there are several glaring issues that need to be addressed by this app. It is very frustrating to log in and have to reset my password each time. This app has been in existence for too long for these issues to be occurring. Navy Federal please listen! Either get rid of the app and build it into the regular Navy Federal app or get a dedicated design team to fixing this so that it’s the most smooth experience possible. Right now it’s a tangled mess that continuously wastes my time whenever I try to use it.

### 2/5 — Logging on

*2025-01-26, version 1.18.0*

Ever since the update not able to log on

### 1/5 — Needs Updated

*2025-01-26, version 1.18.0*

This app has always glitched and lagged. Sometimes it allows Face ID, but most of the time, it resets and requires the long password. The biggest issue is myself and the other card user (we have 2 reloadable cards) have on multiple occasions logged into see the balances, but the app will not load. It spins for a bit, but it won’t allow us to see either card balance. I am shocked NFCU allows this habitual malfunction as it is imperative members see how much money is on their cards. On the app’s best days, it is slow with spotty connection, but this is the only app for prepaid cards with our credit union, so we just have to deal with it.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2025-01-14, version 1.18.0*

Please fix log in issues

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2025-01-03, version 1.18.0*

Huge issue logging in for no reason. Changed passwords etc. nothing..

### 1/5 — The most annoying app

*2024-12-28, version 1.18.0*

Half of the time I can’t even log in. And really the only reason we have a GO card is because NFCU won’t offer my 14 y.o. a student checking account. Now I have to have two apps to help my child manage her money.

### 1/5 — Unable to Login

*2024-12-15, version 1.18.0*

“The account information you have entered does not match. Please try again.”

Verified everything was input correctly, tried resetting password, still does not let me in. I have to go to the website to view and manage my cards as the app will not let me into my account.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2026-08-23, version 1.18.1*

As others have said, and as evidenced by its update history, this app has been abandoned. Use the website instead. It’s clunky, outdated, and not intuitive, but it is still functional. This app can’t even offer that much, if you can even log in. Better yet, find an alternative prepaid card provider.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2026-06-24, version 1.18.1*

App doesn’t let you log in…ever. Just use the browser, at least that way you can conduct a transaction. It’s not like NFCU doesn’t have the money, fix it already. So ridiculous, annoying and extremely frustrating.

### 1/5 — horrible !!

*2026-06-03, version 1.18.1*

this app genuinely is terrible. i can’t even log in.

### 1/5 — NEEDS TO WORK

*2026-03-14, version 1.18.1*

APP hasn’t worked for last 4 days on iPhone. Doesn’t even make it to login screen.

### 1/5 — abysmal dogsht

*2026-01-09, version 1.18.1*

i didn’t know it was possible for an app so utterly useless to come from such a large organization, yet here we are

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-12-21, version 1.18.1*

Can’t get logged in. Error-The remote server returned unexpected response (400) Bad Request.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-11-10, version 1.18.1*

After SEVERAL years of not using my Go Prepaid card due to issues with the site’s janky functionality I decided to take a shot at the mobile app. Same issues. The lack of support, customer service being clueless and the overall just app just being utterly useless (just like the website) is hilarious. I can’t believe the low-effort in technology & functionality is put into this vs Navy Federal’s main site.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2025-09-21, version 1.18.1*

What’s the point if I can’t login???

### 1/5 — App not working

*2025-08-23, version 1.18.1*

The app and access never works.

### 1/5 — WT Actual F?

*2025-08-11, version 1.18.1*

The visa prepaid website is clunky but it works. That’s way more than I can say for this god forsaken app.

Just go to the website because trying to use the app is a complete waste of your time and patience.

This app is why 0 Stars should be an option.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awsome app

*2025-11-27, version 1.18.1*

Great app easy to use and this makes it great for a pre paid debit card gift

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2025-06-25, version 1.18.1*

All the app is really needed for is checking balance and transaction history, which it does great

### 5/5 — Ok now

*2023-05-03, version 1.16.11*

Let me say I was having the same issues as everyone else. However I figured the issue out. Even though you already set up an account prior to receiving your card, after I activated my card I had to recreate a mobile account. Now the app works great and I was able to set up Face ID and a passcode.

### 5/5 — Class listen up

*2022-05-28, version 1.16.8*

For me this app reflect navy federal strong commitment to great customer service 5 stars great job on this App, I followed instructions register follow directions then done no problems for me.

### 5/5 — Love the update!!

*2022-04-11, version 1.16.8*

I love using the Navy Federal Go Prepaid app!! It’s very user friendly! I know others are complaining about the update, but I haven’t had not one issue yet! So far the app runs smoothly!

### 4/5 — Good but… not

*2023-02-20, version 1.16.11*

This app is good for kids that are starting for a debit card. However the wait time for something’s are absurdly long. Just know that you might have to wait a while for a e-mail confirmation.

### 4/5 — Much Improved Since Initial Release.

*2022-04-17, version 1.16.8*

Login credentials including Face ID are now working consistently. Previously I had to remove and reload the app then then set up a new mobile account for the card. As others have said, we really need to be able to manage multiple card accounts with the app on a single mobile device. I manage 3 accounts and just have the one phone (and one phone number). I can do it with a browser but it would be nice to be able to switch accounts using the mobile app. I’ve started a discussion thread on the bogleheads forum to discuss the new Go Card. I’m not sure I can link to it but a search for NFCU Go Card and bogleheads should get you there.

### 4/5 — New app needs some improvement

*2022-03-23, version 1.16.8*

While the updates have fixed many of the things wrong. It still lacks some of the features that would make it perfect. Lack of support for notifications. Showing the status of transactions if they have cleared. Still receiving duplicates SMS messages for every notification, but it works.

### 4/5 — Go Prepaid

*2022-02-26, version 1.0*

I have two (2) of the new NFCU go prepaid cards. I have added one of them to the mobile app. However, I have noticed that the app won’t let you add another card to it. Help me solve this issue. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Good service, but room for improvement

*2025-01-03, version 1.18.0*

I’ve been using the NavyFed Go Prepaid app without any issues, and I personally haven’t experienced login problems like some other users mentioned in their reviews. The app gets the basic job done, but I think it needs some updates to better meet customer needs.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Address the login issues that many users have reported.
2. Add the option to assign nicknames to prepaid cards to make them easier to identify. Currently, all cards show the same name, and it’s hard to tell which is which without opening each one.
3. Allow users to link a bank account, not just debit/credit cards, to fund prepaid cards.
4. Add the ability to automate or schedule recurring reloads for prepaid cards, so users don’t have to do it manually every time.

Overall, the app works well, but with these improvements, it could be much more convenient and efficient for users. I hope these suggestions are considered for future updates.
