## What is NBCC NCMHCE Exam Prep 2026?

Everything in this app was written for one exam: the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination, administered by NBCC.

2,999 practice questions across all four NCMHCE domains. Every question carries a written rationale explaining the clinical reasoning behind the correct answer and why each distractor is wrong.

ABOUT THE EXAM FORMAT

The real NCMHCE is a clinical case simulation exam: 11 cases, each with a series of linked questions, scored on decision sequencing rather than percent correct. This app provides content practice in multiple-choice form and says so plainly on the mock briefing screen, in the exam hub and on the results screen. It is built to prepare you on the clinical knowledge the cases draw on. A full case simulation mode is planned for a future update.

WHAT IS INSIDE

- 2,999 practice questions with full rationales
- 600 flashcards organised by domain
- 124 concept cards and 102 illustrated micro-lessons
- 81 narrated audio lessons for hands-free study
- 144 DSM-5-TR references, 49 mnemonics, 37 theorist profiles
- Clinical tools: DSM-5-TR differential decision tree, Stanley-Brown safety plan, Tarasoff decision tree, suicide risk stratification matrix and more

WHAT IT COVERS

Professional practice and ethics. Intake, assessment and diagnosis. Areas of clinical focus. Treatment planning and counseling skills.

HOW IT WORKS

Adaptive practice sends you to your weakest domains first. Mistakes stay in rotation until answered correctly more than once. A readiness score weights mastery by each domain's share of the exam.
