Actual NCE was way.... more difficult and barely passed. I recommend people to really know the details... ### 4/5 — Great for studying *2019-12-14, version 6.7.6* This is such a great app for studying for the NCE. I always use the Quick 10 Exam feature so I get a variety of questions to answer in less than an hour. The explanations at the end of the questions are helpful. To unlock the full benefits of the app, you would have to pay about $35. It’s a bit pricey to fully upgrade, but well worth the money if you don’t want to run out of practice questions. ### 5/5 — Passed the NCE! App was very helpful! *2019-09-07, version 6.7.3* I just passed the NCE on my first attempt Sept 2019!! I studied mostly using this app (along with Rosenthal app and a couple online free quizzes). I studied a full 2 months prior to taking the exam. I paid for the full version of this app in order to unlock all of the test questions and have an unlimited access to their custom prep exams. Although the questions on the NCE were worded very different than the questions on this app, the general content and areas covered were similar and prepared me for answering the NCE test questions. ### 5/5 — This APP! *2019-07-14, version 6.7.3* I would like to say this has been awesome!! I just used the free version. ### 5/5 — Passed!!!! *2019-06-07, version 6.7.3* This app along with Rosenthal’s CDs helped me pass my exam. I used this app many times throughout the day to quiz myself and I made it through all 500 questions when I upgraded. ### 3/5 — Useful but buggy, inconsistent, and dated at times. *2019-05-09, version 6.7.3* The app is a very useful tool for studying for the NCE but it’s not without its problems. The app is buggy at times in that it locks up and will not let you select an answer, most notably on the question of the day. Also bear in mind that your percentages on short tests will not necessarily reflect what you’d make on the actual test because the questions chosen by the app may be heavy in one area that you are weak on but will be a comparatively smaller part of the actual test. Also, some of the questions are inconsistent in the nature of their answers. For example, I have seen two questions both appearing to ask the same thing yet asserting different answers were correct. This may, however, been some nuance in wording, since quite a few questions are very poorly written. But, this will no doubt prepare the taker for seeing similarly poorly written questions on their actual exam. Speaking of wording, some of the questions use very dated terms and some outmoded concepts. For example, some questions refer to people as “transgendered” instead of the preferred term, “transgender.” Some of the other multicultural questions are particularly guilty of answers that seem like rather egregious stereotypes. All in all, a useful tool in your study arsenal. It’s usefulness alone would be about 4 stars. But the app as a whole gets 3 for its buggy issues. I had heard the questions on this app were similar to the ones on the test, they were right. I used this app a lot, not sure how many tests I took but it was A LOT!! I started doing 150 and 100 question tests as it got closer to test day. I know I sound like an infomercial but hey it really helped ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work *2019-04-09, version 6.7* While I find the study material EXTREMELY helpful, the app itself barely works. It freezes constantly and doesn’t allow me to take exams. It constant misreads data and it randomly closes out and logs me out. Today, the app randomly switched to basic mode (after I paid for ultimate) and will not let me restore the ultimate features. ### 3/5 — Prep Exams Don’t Refresh - Repetitive Questions *2019-01-22, version 6.7* Exams aren’t refreshing. Same questions in every quiz I take. ### 5/5 — I passed too!!!!!! *2018-12-19, version 6.7* On my second attempt at the NCE I found this app. I found out immediately that I was able to retain the information better through this type of study method. I solely studied through this app and passed. However, others may need more than just this app to prepare. It also helped me to understand what the examiners are looking for in the "best answer" scenarios. In short, you can use other study materials but this app gets you in the right mind frame for the test. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Blank flash cards *2020-11-04, version 6.7.9* The flash cards are all blank. What a waste of money. ### 1/5 — Crashes, deleted progress & no way to log in *2020-04-14, version 6.7.6* This app has been so frustrating, it regularly crashes on me, freezing or closing out. It also has frequently erased my progress so I can’t tell accurately what my percentage rates are because then I get repeat questions while never having seen other questions. The questions are repeated frequently and many of them seem outdated and sexist, homophobic or transphobic. The question of the day says it will be unlimited new questions but it has always been questions I’ve already answered. Overall I do feel this app has helped me study but the issues are so frequent & irritating it almost isn’t worth it for $35. The developers suggested I delete & re-install the app and when I did so my account could not be recovered- there is no way to log into the app, only to create an account, so I now have no access to my progress or the upgraded account I purchased. My exam is in 19 days and for three weeks now I have been trying to get my account back up and running but the tech support is so slow in helping. This app was very expensive and it does not even work well, and no refund has been allowed either. *UPDATE* I finally got my account recovered because they upgraded the app to have a login button finally, but when I logged in the upgraded version I paid for months ago was still not applied to my account. The developer is now saying it’s my fault for maybe using a capital letter when I logged in, which I didn’t. It has now been A MONTH of me trying to just login and use this app. Huge waste of money, my exam is in 5 days & I haven’t been able to use the app in weeks. ### 1/5 — Lost my account, progress, and money *2019-08-10, version 6.7.3* I’ve been using the app consistently and decided to take a break only to find that Im not able to log in anymore. It wants me to create a whole new account. Not only that, but I paid to have the premium features and it wants me to pay again! Now I feel like I’ve lost my account, progress, and money. I’m extremely frustrated. So much for studying using this app. I’ll be primarily using the purple book until this mess gets sorted out. ### 1/5 — Awful *2019-08-04, version 6.7.3* I purchased the $19.99 upgrade and it never worked. Nearly every day I tried to restore the purchase and it continued to say I never purchased it, however the money was clearly drafted from my account. I tried to reach out to the company, but of course it was unsuccessful. Do not waste your money on this. I thought I could rely on this app to prepare for my exam, but clearly not. ### 1/5 — Horrible Support Service *2019-07-26, version 6.7.3* I paid 19.99$ money was quckly taken from my account and I cant even get what I paid for the Classical Edition. It did help with some but way more detail is needed in some areas for sure. Kind of felt blindsided. Definitely use but in addition to another source. ### 2/5 — App freezes up frequently *2019-04-27, version 6.7* While it was initially convenient to have the questions easily accessible on my phone, once I answered a fair number of questions, the app got sluggish. Then it started freezing up. Then I was locked out all together. I had to reinstall the app, which RESET my usage statistics and my questions, and my QTD (required for the pass guarantee), TWICE. Now I have AGAIN answered about 420 of the 500 questions and it is almost non-responsive. When I open it to answer my Question of The Day it takes several minutes to load and I have actually had to CHANGE the settings on my phone to prevent it from going into a locked screen while the QTD is loading or an exam is building. Each time I reinstalled the app, it operated fine until I reached about 150-180 questions, and then it seemed to start ‘crashing’. Honestly, it’s so frustrating to use now, the only reason I bother opening it up anymore is to meet the requirements for the guarantee—but even that seems silly because I’ve already seen all of the questions, and many were so straight-forward that for me, they didn’t seem worthwhile and deserve replacing with meaningful content (since I’m paying to be challenged and there is a set bank of questions). Bottom line: It does NOT meet my expectations. ### 2/5 — Helpful at first but won’t restore *2019-04-14, version 6.7* Had this app and I upgraded to ultimate. It helped me pass my CPCE, along with the purple book. But when I went on to study for the NCE, I had gotten a new phone and when I attempted to restore my previously purchased ultimate access, it wouldn’t restore. Over and over the restore failed. I love the fact that it gives me the areas to improve in and gives me a question of the day. Great app! I feel more confident in my study habits and I do not feel as anxious about taking the NCE!
