You also can’t control videos. The only way to set up the camera and view live stream is to connect to its WiFi, which you are not able to do on an iPhone, it just simply doesn’t connect. This means the app is useless, you can’t access any of its features, and you can’t set up the dash cam. It is a $200 plastic tube stuck to my windscreen. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2019-12-05, version 2.00* Brought the product $199.95, should’ve bought a cheaper brand & it’ll be working now. I couldn’t even get the WIFI connected, done airplane mode several times, turned phone off & back on, uninstalled app, reinstalled app & still nothing. Jumped on the website & to send anything via webpage, can’t see what you’re writing, or what goes where. Shouldn’t be sold until all glitches have been fixed. The app doesn’t work as advertised, won’t allow sharing of videos. Spoke to tech support who advised to reinstall app and accept access permissions however there was no prompt for access to photos. Absolute rubbish and a waste of money. You cannot set up, format the SD card, enter the password or actually do anything. Utter rubbish and absolutely embarrassing. Apple should remove this from the store, it’s basically fraudulent and unconscionable to offer something that is basically a lie. Garbage and frustrating. UI needs a major overhaul and polish. Overall I’m very disappointed in first impression. I just purchased the dash cam today, followed all instructions on how to connect to wifi and install the app to use the wifi connection.. And unfortunately, like everyone else.. It doesn’t even work! Basically renders the wifi/phone app part of the dash cam dead. ### 1/5 — Does not appear to work on current iOS *2022-03-02* I’m under the assumption that this does not work on the latest version of iOS. I’m currently running 15.3.1 I connect to the dash cam wifi, and then open the app. When I press on the camera preview it tells me no camera is connected, and asks if I would like to connect now. I say yes and nothing happens. I assume this is due to security changes in iOS. Don’t bother with this product find something better out there. ### 1/5 — Can’t get a local wifi connection to the device *2021-05-19* Nanocam+ App on iPhone installed, can see the network Dashcam under Apple wifi connections and connects with a tick BUT having to manually enter wifi details again into the app and it won’t accept a password more than 5 characters. Double-tapped power button on cam and says wifi is on. Correct WiFI details are entered into app (after I reduced my wifi security to 5 characters) and still refuses to connect inside the app. The app just fails to respond after you hit ‘setup’. I need to set the correct date and time in the device as it’s dated 2019 on record (why it can’t auto update date and time off GPS is beyond me). I can’t see that I’m doing something wrong. Device is recording okay to SD card and image quality is good but the developer really needs to work on their WiFi interface inside their app. Their ‘Help’ file is useless. Expectations fell well short of this Dashcam. ## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Good but.. *2018-10-18* App works well except I can’t share videos to anything and I would like to be able to save the videos to my photo gallery so I can edit them etc. Two months after writing this review and still waiting on a fix ### 2/5 — Out of date instructions *2020-02-28, version 2.00* I’m currently working through the instructions to connect to my phone (Iphone 11) but the instructions are providing the wrong password to connect to WIFI. (12345678) This doesn’t work to get the Dashcam to talk to the phone. I’ve tried everything I can think of to overcome this and found that although the dashcam wifi attaches to the phone without the password, I can’t use the app to monitor the dashcam without a password. So.. a big MINUS for the ability of Nanocam to update changes and make basic communication possible between iPhone and camera. More than 2 stars is the max I can give this app and they’re for the functionality of the standalone camera.
