### 3/5 — Critical features missing

*2025-05-09*

Please add the ability to name the NDI stream. Using simultaneously several cameras, a random « NDICam » « NDICam2 » assignation at startup is a nightmare to use in a project. And please, add the ability to lock the landscape mode. Otherwise this app is the fastest (less latency), too bad it is not usable for me as it is.

### 3/5 — Leaves a few things open

*2024-12-19*

The app works and allows to set some good details. Unfortunately on an iPhone 16 Pro that is held vertical, the iPhone top bar will obstruct NDICam’s UI that can then not be used.

### 3/5 — iPhone 13 not displaying properly

*2024-11-21*

Installed and connected to ndi studio. Looks correct on iPad. On iPhone 13 the controls are bunched at the top and you can’t access to configure. No red box around video as shown in App Store

### 3/5 — Uses wide angle lens on iPhone 14 pro

*2022-12-03*

Please update. If you must default, default to the standard lens. Better yet, let us select from all 3 plus the front cam.

Not a lot of image adjustment features, but *very* low latency. This is the strongest feature and in this regard the best in the business.

### 2/5 — No option to select lens

*2022-06-06*

I think you're meant to pinch to zoom, hard to get the exact position though so would much prefer just selecting the lens. Also doesn't seem to work with tele lens. Also missing 4K option which is present in the official NDI app, also 60fps. Additionally the scaling seems to be off on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, whereby some icons disappear off the screen and can no longer be interacted with. Please keep deceloping!

### 4/5 — I love it, but…

*2022-04-22*

This app is a better alternative to the original NewTek NDI HX Camera. Especially for PAL systems with 25 FPS! I hope you will add 50/60 FPS support. Only problem I have with the new version 7 is the automatic switching between the regular and vertical mode. Please add a switch to prevent automatic switching between regular and vertical mode! Thanks.

### 5/5 — Thank you for the update

*2022-03-02*

I was about to notify you guys of continuous crashing then I saw the update. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Good support for older devices

*2021-12-22*

This is working well providing 2 cam views over WiFi. It’s on HX and 720p to get it more reliable, but being able to change settings to suit your environment is a plus. The biggest plus that puts this ahead of competitors and makes it 5 stars is being able to use it on older devices. It’s effectively putting 2 old phones that were otherwise ‘retired’ to good use. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Mejor que la App de NewTek

*2021-05-09*

### 3/5 — Fix request

*2021-02-04*

UPD a year later.... still not fixed. Also confused with bandwidth selector in settings. Should it be the same function as a slider?? Or what it does than?

——
Please fix speed quality slider, it’s very jumpy, difficult to get in needed position. Also resolution indicator will be nice. Maybe it can briefly appear when move the slider.

**Developer response:** Hi Eienn2000 - thanks for your suggestions.

### 5/5 — Generally excellent!

*2020-10-22*

My main motivation to buy this over the official NDI camera app was that this one runs on 32bit iOS devices. For me that means an iPad 4th gen. I’m lucky to also have a 6th gen too so I can compare.
I’m very impressed with the performance. On the 4th gen I can run on 2nd quality/speed. I set to NDI HX2 and 2mbit. It runs great on 5ghz WiFi. I receive on OBS with hardware decode and experimental low latency settings.

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2020-09-24*

Does what it is supposed to do. I think it is the easiest way to use your iPhone as a live camera. Even works well with several devices in the same network so that you can mix different video signals e.g. in Open Broadcaster. The only thing is that your iPhone should be at least a 7 and your WiFi router should be quite fast (or use a LAN adapter). Otherwise you only get a SD signal which looks quite poor.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2020-09-10*

It works well on iphone 11 pro with ethernet connection.
But I can’t choose lenses. It seems when auto-lens is on, it shots with ultrawide as default. With auto-lens off, it shots with wide lens.. Is there any way that I can choose tele lens?

### 1/5 — No longer rotates

*2025-07-12*

With the latest iOS you can no longer rotate the phone for widescreen

### 1/5 — No longer rotates

*2025-06-07, version 7.31*

With the Kate’s iOS you can no longer rotate the phone for widescreen

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work well

*2022-12-16*

Good concept but poor User interface and not fit for purpose as you can barely get any decent video out of this. Pretty unreliable. Refund requested.

### 1/5 — Ndi cam

*2022-08-17*

Ужасное приложение! Верните деньги за покупку! У меня айфон 13 pro max. Нельзя настроить камеру нормально, нет никаких полезных функций по настройке. В других схожих приложениях все это давно есть. Не покупайте.

Terrible app! Return the money for the purchase! I have an iPhone 13 pro max. It is impossible to set up the camera normally, there are no useful configuration functions. In other similar applications, all this has been there for a long time. Don't buy.

### 1/5 — No Audio

*2021-01-11, version 5.02*

Tested on iphone se and ipad pro. No audio on either. Need a refund or it needs to be fixed.

### 1/5 — Didn’t really work for me. Laggy video and poor quality image

*2020-11-12*

I tried this with OBS and got the connection working ok but the quality of the image was awful. I tried all the quality vs speed settings and it just want up to snuff. Unusable video. I’d like a refund please. You really should have offered a trial.

Four months after this review I got a response. No refund or offer of a refund. My “network” was the phone directly plugged into my iMac. This is just crap software. Do not buy. They don’t listen and have crappy support. Can I give less than one star review???

**Developer response:** Hi DavidBryanSmith ! If you are seeing lag, it means your network connection is too slow. Use a wired connection, improve your WIFI, and try the HX2 mode for lower bandwidth. Lag is *not* due to the software itself - it's almost certainly your network environment.

### 1/5 — Works but insanely laggy

*2020-10-07, version 5.02*

I bought the app to stream to OBS. It works but the connection over WiFi is so laggy that it’s not worth it.

### 1/5 — Really disappointed

*2020-05-18*

Despite excellent network on both devices the app freezes and is unusable.
Really unhappy with this purchase...

**Developer response:** Hi JVbluesman If you are seeing issues, like the app closing, or stream hiccups it probably means your network connection is problematic. Use a wired connection, improve your WIFI, and try the HX2 mode for lower bandwidth on less capable networks. Note that a network which works OK for YouTube (highly buffered stream) is not necessarily suitable as a 'real time' video network which works without buffering and requires a solid clean connection without TCP resends or UDP packet loss.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2020-05-09, version 5.02*

Did not work on my Mac book pro 15 inch 2019 I followed the download it even walked me through still nothing I would like a refund please

### 1/5 — High hope chattered!

*2020-05-04, version 5.02*

I bought this to today, after a tutorial on YouTube on how to turn my iPhone into a webcam for OBS.

Bought it ($9.99), tried for 20 minutes, it was brilliant. Now, time to use it for my broadcast... it turns off by itself.
Ridiculous

### 5/5 — Lens switching on iPhone 13

*2026-01-26*

I like using the app but the only problem I have is switching between lenses and zooming. I can’t get it to work.

### 5/5 — Very good.

*2025-11-09*

Works well with all camera lenses.

Please delete/ignore my previous review.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2025-03-31*

Works great with vmix. The full ndi setting is actually a toggle, was pretty confusing but once we figured that out it’s been fantastic!! I wish I could control zoom with my dji Bluetooth gimbal but not apps fault. Overall great

### 5/5 — Works for us

*2025-03-26*

We use it once or twice a year for live streaming in odd places. Just make sure to have a solid 5gig WiFi connection. I like the tally light. Works with iPad or iPhone.

### 5/5 — Worked great for festival livestream

*2023-09-24*

I recently used several iPhones running NDICAM as part of the camera setup for a 3 day festival livestream, using Lightning-Ethernet(PoE) connections. They worked well with only minimal issues.
Edit: one improvement I would like to see is better documentation. The online docs aren’t quite up to date, don’t mention all of the features, and could use some screenshots. For example, one thing I struggled with is that the “NDI vs NDI HX3” slider is ambiguous, do you slide it toward the one you want, or does the “off” position mean full NDI is off (the opposite), that can really mess you up since most connections using a phone don’t have enough bandwidth for full NDI.

### 5/5 — Simple y practica

*2023-08-25*

Solo que no tiene muchos controles de imagen, mas aun asi es buena la imagen

### 5/5 — Worked great for festival livestream

### 5/5 — App works good in Landscape mode

*2022-07-13*

In portrait mode, some of options you can’t click on. Before I bought this, I wasn’t sure if it would use the wide angle lens, as the app just says it supports multiple lenses. Well, good news, it does support all 3 cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro that I have. I do think a really cool feature would be if you could simultaneously stream all 3 of those camera angles at a time, even 2 would be cool. For a live broadcast, 1 camera would turn into 2!

Anyhow, if you use this app just remember that certain notifications will stop your stream (like a low battery warning), so test/plan accordingly for all possible scenarios and turn off cellular data to prevent a phone call etc.

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2022-05-31*

No complaints so far. Works on my iPad and iPhone at high resolution. You better have a good WiFi connection though.

### 5/5 — Incredible NDI App!!!

*2022-05-11*

I have the official NDI Camera app, but the quality and features on this are far superior, and the price is very fair.

One request would be adding 30fps to the settings so it’s the same as my frame rate in OBS.
