I love the ability to see which cat used the litter box, along with their weight. The one thing it absolutely needs though is a live status view of the progress during a cleaning cycle. That would help kittens owners safely keep their babies away and it would alert them if there are any issues during the cycle. Other than that, it’s a little glitchy. When I first open it, my box isn’t on there more often than not. It takes about 30 seconds for it to show up. IMO the Neakasa box is far superior over Litter Robot, but I think the poor functionality of the app could be preventing tech savvy owners from buying them. No ability to opt out of promotional notifications, so have to disable notifications entirely which renders half of the app useless. The machine itself is extremely loud and disruptive and very slow to operate. But … 1. Please work on accessibility. Test the app with VoiceOver, and add proper labels and states. I should not need to use image recognition or screen recognition to use the app (though I am very glad they helped me work around the issues). 2. Update device view log lines when app is in foreground. I shouldn't have to go back to the device list, then open the device again, just to see new log entries. Thank you. (Angora breed not listed; maybe add that.) ### 1/5 — Malfunction *2026-03-30* I hat this product for a while now and it was doing fine but today due the line every now and then I would notice that I would get kicked out from the app to where I have to login again and I noticed that the little box had species at the top where it would dispose when it cleans turn out it’s overfilled and didn’t even notify me that it was known that I hear the sound when it beep, and since I wasn’t notified through the app. I wasn’t aware that the box needed to be cleaned. Because once I hear the beeping noise that tells me he has a litter box is full and needs to be cleaned. That didn’t happened. Very disappointed and it shouldn’t be a reason why I’m getting kicked out of the app. ### 1/5 — Inaccurate count *2026-03-11, version 2.2.7* Litterbox usage count is inaccurate on the calendar view. It might say that my cat used it 5x on a specific day. Now it doesn’t even allow you to LOG in…so you have no access to the account or data, making the entire smart functionality of the product pointless. When it does allow you to log in the litter log data in blank and still missing at times. So disappointing considering the product is actually good. ### 1/5 — Great while it lasted *2026-07-18, version 2.3.3* I loaded this app a month ago and included the info on my three cats. I was pleased to see their usage of the litter box shown in app. Nice to know who was - and wasn’t - using it. This morning I opened the app - and all data had disappeared. Cat names and weights, usage over the last month, everything. But I was still logged in. I tried re-adding my cats but I kept getting the message that the info couldn’t be saved, try again. After 10 attempts to save even one cat’s info, I gave up. Hoping a clean install of the app would help, I deleted and reinstalled the app. Now I can’t even log in. So much for tracking my cats’ usage. For the price I paid for the litter box (which works great and I’m very happy with) you’d think they could create an app that matched their product. Guess their focus is on expensive litter boxes, not apps and customer support. It works but it takes forever to get it to work because the button doesn’t unstick. It would make so much sense to have that functionality from the app so I don’t have to deal with that broken button. Also, I don’t know if it’s the broken button or the machine is just stupid, but for days after I empty the bin, it will empty itself at completely random times without me telling it to. For DAYS. And it’s really hard to tell it to stop. Would be nice if the app tracked the emptying and had a hard stop button or something. Either way, this machine is more annoying than it’s worth. If it hadn’t been a gift, I would never have gotten this and I wouldn’t recommend it to other people in its current state with the price tag. It also has way too many crevices that litter falls into and makes a huge mess under the machine. I know they have ‘tape’ to fix that, but you have to request it. Just send it! It’s YOUR design flaw. ### 1/5 — TOO MANY ADS *2026-06-26, version 2.3.3* The app works. You can set preferences and be informed of the status (such as low litter or litter pan is full). That said, there is NO WAY TO TURN OFF ADVERTISING!! Turning off notifications shuts down both the push ads and the litter box state. Terrible. Fix this or I’ll eventually buy a new litter box without forced ads (they’re not even localized! I got a German ad today. After a quick update, I haven't experienced the issues others mentioned. The weight readings are accurate about 95% of the time. My only suggestion is to improve the "full" notification for the waste bin. Currently, it only shows "normal" or "full," and then the bin is upside down. A warning 1/2 day before the bin is full would be great. Should have bought it way earlier!!! ### 5/5 — Cat stay time is lifesaver! *2024-12-20* The Neakasa M1 it’s my favorite automatic litter box, and a big part of it is the app. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able go monitor health issues as much, but the feature that the app has do measures the amount of time each cat is in the litter box helps me understand if any are straining when using the toilet. It has been wonderful. ### 5/5 — Best purchase ever *2024-08-10* If you have ever been to someone else's home and it smelled like cats but you also have cats this is definitely for you and the best automated liter box on the market. After I setup the neakasa I turned off the auto clean feature to not startle the cats and left their old litterbox next to it. Over the course of a week I did not tend to the old box as much and put treats near the new one. They started started using the new new one within days. I then periodically ran the manual clean cycle and put treats nearby again. The old liter box was out within a week and the cats now have a much cleaner bathroom.
