With my new kit running Sequoia the proximity lock doesn’t work. I’m hopeful of an update, but until then the best it offers is a button press and Face ID to lock/unlock my Mac. I use my laptop at work and sometimes when I get up, I forget to lock it. I thought this app was going to lock my Mac automatically when I walk away, but it doesn’t. It does however work when I manually lock my Mac from the NearLock app which I why I gave this two stars. In this day and age, I’m so surprised Apple doesn’t have a built in feature. You’d think with the Find My app we’d be able to remotely lock our Macs and other devices. The app store on the MBP had a warning it was incompatible with the macOS app but the description on the iphone app does say it can work with 2012 mac book pro or later. I have a MBP late 2015 running Monterrey. Ultimately, the app will lock the computer remotely using the app but will not do it automatically based on proximity which is what it seemed this app could do and the reason to download it in the first place. I already use my watch to unlock. It won’t let me download the pro version on the iphone or the mac or allow to use it on the watch. On the watch, it states that the iphone app needs to be turned on or buy the PRO. Unfortunately, it won’t let me buy the pro and the watch app is not able to register when the iphone app is actually open. great concept but execution needs work. ### 2/5 — Used to be good *2022-11-20, version 5.1* This app used to be a 5 star. Admittedly I was running 3 iPhones, 2 MacBook Pros, and an iPad in one room which also included an AMPLifi guitar amp, a Bluetooth Tower speaker, and a pair of Beats Bluetooth headphones! The Bluetooth issues only surfaced after waking up in the morning following installation, after allowing the connected iPhone to run out of power and shut down the night before. At each attempt to fix the Bluetooth disconnection behaviour I was concerned the developer had dropped the ball only to discover a timely dialogue pop up with useful advice. Eventually the issue was fixed using the suggestion offered in the original troubleshooting guide, although it took repeated efforts to flush the cache before that actually succeeded!
