## What is Nearby Aircraft?

Nearby Aircraft turns community ADS-B observations into a calm, animated view of the sky around you.

Aircraft glide across the map at 20 frames per second using their reported speed and ground track. Every new provider position gently corrects the prediction, keeping movement smooth while staying anchored to real observations. Heading-aligned silhouettes distinguish passenger aircraft, cargo planes, business jets, general aviation, helicopters, and military aircraft. Known airlines use their identification colors and marks.

Select an aircraft to see altitude, speed, heading, vertical rate, registration, type, callsign, freshness, and source. When a reliable published route is available, Nearby Aircraft shows the origin, destination, airport details, and route line directly on the map.

Search by flight number—including published routes for flights that are not currently airborne—or use worldwide airport autocomplete by name, city, IATA, or ICAO code. Follow a flight to receive native iOS departure and landing notifications when the app observes those status changes. Filters help narrow the map by airborne status, altitude, and aircraft category. Your current location is visibly marked when permission is granted.

Nearby Aircraft requires no account and includes no ads, analytics, paid subscriptions, or tracking. Location and notification permissions are optional and requested only in context.

Community aircraft information can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Nearby Aircraft is for casual awareness only and must never be used for navigation, dispatch, emergencies, collision avoidance, or any operational aviation decision.
