Nearly is a simple way to create smart location reminders. Simply add a location by searching, entering an address or long-pressing on the map and Nearly will notify you when you are nearby. When you open the app from a notification, tap the car icon and you'll immediately get driving directions in Maps. On the home screen you'll see all your location reminders sorted by distance and color-coded so you'll know what you can get done nearby. If you go off the app for any reason, when you go back on the app, it crashes, and all of your progress on creating it is gone :( The Alerts themselves aren’t every good either, don’t recommend, better Apps out there. ### 1/5 — No options *2023-12-18* I could create a reminder but there are no options except for a location (no arriving/leaving/nearby options or anything related to dates or times) so I'm not sure how this could possibly work. Luckily I found gTasks which has the best location support of any of the apps I have tried (and I've literally tried dozens of them). Also, it contiually asks for location permission even though I have granted it several times now. ### 4/5 — Great *2021-01-13* Simple app does what it advertises. The idea sounds great, but the apps needs more work. ### 3/5 — I'm not sure what to make of this app *2014-04-29* I just set a location, went to the location and did not receive a reminder. I made sure that in settings my location is enabled for this app. Also, it says in the description that when you are near a location and get a alert you can open the app and click on the car icon to get directions... If you are near enough to the location for the alarm to go off why would you need directions? The interface is clean, and seems easy enough to use but, I'm confused as to why it didn't work. Update:: I think I needed to enable background app refresh for it to work. ### 2/5 — Lacks a lot of basic functionality *2014-01-05, version 1.0.2* A couple of major things missing: 1. Ability to save locations! Often used locations ( ie. HOME) should be saveable. Without this, app is useless IMO. 2. It was some debug information we left in there by mistake. It was actually how far you were away from the location in meters. If you caught on, gold star for you. Anyways, those are gone now and the notification should be nicer. ### 1.0.4 — 2015-12-03 Because choice is better, you can now tell Nearly how far from a location you'd like to be reminded. Set it for two miles, 1000 feet, or 200 feet if you're feeling territorial. ### 1.0.3 — 2015-11-19 What is this place? Where have I been?
