### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY

*2025-04-04, version 2.9.6*

This company went out of business in 2023 and is no longer supporting their apps, Alexa/Siri connections, etc. If you find one, do not buy! You will also not get any replacement parts.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-04-03, version 2.9.6*

I would highly recommend against buying a Neato product. So many other options which are more reliable and less expensive. This app is terrible. It used to work and would show a map of where it cleaned but it since has stopped working.

### 1/5 — Can’t name

*2025-03-27, version 2.9.6*

I’m supposed to name my robot to connect it, but it doesn’t want to do it.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-03-25, version 2.9.6*

This product is so utterly unreliable as to make it a complete waste of floor space. The customer service is also nonexistent so it is impossible to get problems rectified in anything like a reasonable timeframe. I wish I had never purchased this bit of tech and my advice is to avoid at all costs.

### 1/5 — Vac is okay. Connectivity, app, and support are terrible

*2025-02-15, version 2.9.6*

Most annoying robot vac experience I’ve had, and I’ve been using various robot vacs since 2010.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-01-30, version 2.9.6*

I can’t change my password. It send a link to my email and when I click it, it gives me the same link Horrible app. Not happy with this product.

### 1/5 — D7 won’t connect to WiFi

*2025-01-11, version 2.9.6*

I have tried dozens of times, but it stops after a couple minutes and reverts back to name your robot screen

### 1/5 — Will not allow me to sign in

*2025-01-04, version 2.9.6*

The link on the email to sent up an account is not available!

### 2/5 — App requires update but no update available

*2024-12-16, version 2.9.6*

The app won’t work and displays “app update required” however there is no available update on the App Store.

### 1/5 — Neato No More

*2024-12-04, version 2.9.6*

Neato has gone under and now my D5 is just a decoration feature with absolutely nothing wrong it. App will connect anymore so it no longer cleans my house. It will only do the spot cleaning feature if you push the button. There’s no service and they even said they have discontinued. Pretty disappointing considering how much this was…

### 1/5 — Useless junk

*2024-10-15, version 2.9.6*

So vaccines cleaner doesn’t work anymore because need an update! Are you kidding me?!? So you hub this junk to vaccines your floor and after a while they decide to no be able to use (even pushing the button) without updating (what cannot find any)

### 1/5 — Defunct product.

*2024-10-11, version 2.9.6*

Delete app. The vacuum is no longer working and app does not work.

### 1/5 — Can’t stay connected

*2024-10-06, version 2.9.6*

Congratulations, you’ve successfully made a robot vacuum that’s completely useless if it can’t stay connected to WiFi, and it WONT stay connected to WiFi no matter how many times I try. And NO customer service is available. This is garbage

### 1/5 — Horrible customer service

*2024-10-03, version 2.9.6*

The product is bad and the app is worse. It just doesn’t pair with the device. You don’t have a number for customer support and you keep getting bots. Most likely the company is no longer in Canada.
I would have given negative rating if it was an option.

### 1/5 — “App Update Required”

*2024-09-23, version 2.9.6*

Yes okay, cool. So I can’t use my robot because of an update. Then I try to update it and YOU CAN’T. There is NO update. So, I’m stuck having to update an app that does not need to be updated so I can turn on my roomba. It’s ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Neato is dead

*2024-09-18, version 2.9.6*

Discontinued production in 2023. Do NOT expect any app updates. They were in over their head with the technology and could not keep pace with competition.

The vacuum is subpar and the app is also. I took a chance on the wrong brand back in 2016. Good riddance.

Thanks for no firmware updates ever to the vacuum and most of all thanks for not communicating with your customer base about the shutdown.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-09-08, version 2.9.6*

This item is extremely frustrating. It takes 1-2 hrs of trying to set it up every time I want to use it. It disconnects from the network 4-5 times while trying to clean one room. Pay a little more for a more know brand. The savings on this is not worth the time and energy you have to expend to get it to run. Most of the time I give up and just use my regular vacuum, less time and hassle. I hate vacuuming, which is why I purchased this, but as I stated above, it has serious issues that renders it neither easy or time saving.

### 1/5 — “Needs Update”

*2024-08-18, version 2.9.6*

App continues to say “App Update Required” but no update exists. Uninstall and reinstall did not fix the issue. I can still just “start” the vacuum with the “play” button but no “no-go lines”.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App / cloud services no longer available

*2025-12-06, version 2.9.6*

This app should be removed from the app store as it no longer works. Make sure you sign the Neato openPetition against Vorwerk!!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-11-17, version 2.9.6*

The worst app I’ve ever seen!

### 1/5 — App discontinued

*2025-11-10, version 2.9.6*

Avoid this app. The company that bought out the failed Neato company was supposed to support this app, but I got an email today saying they are backing out of their agreement - hiss boo!

### 1/5 — No app update

*2025-10-31, version 2.9.6*

I have not been able to use my vacuum in months because it says the app needs an update. There update out there to be used.

### 1/5 — App update required

*2025-10-25, version 2.9.6*

It looks like my Neato finally is obsolete, as it will not work anymore as of October 8th. The App says an update is required, but as we all know - this company stopped support some time ago. Too bad, because I always loved my Neato D7. I am sad to see it go.

### 1/5 — Unusable with the latest Apple iOS update

*2025-10-20, version 2.9.6*

The app is unusable for switching or managing the smartvacs connected WiFi after the iOS 26 release. They are literally worthless now. Failure on every company involved’s part

### 1/5 — Aaaaand accounts hacked

*2025-08-29, version 2.9.6*

Sept 2025
Nothing changed but not allow into account for some reason. Had to reset passeord. Password reset - gave it the SAME password and it worked. So yes that’s a sign that all our accounts were hacked and they want us to change them!

July 2023
Closure announced in May 2023
Great.
D6. Nothing changed. This AM, can’t control, rogue robot. Had to hold down power switch to turn off. Deleted from app Went to add vacuum again, couldn’t do it. Turns out directions inside the app are wrong, based on Neato’s own help section on the website. Still can’t connect.

### 1/5 — App not allowing vacuum to connect

*2025-06-06, version 2.9.6*

Have a D3 and a D4. After getting a new WiFi provider I need to reconnect it to the app, which even after connecting is not
"connected". The App is not letting me pair with vacuum no matter what I try. I connect to Neato access point and it tells me to name it and after that it doesn’t progress. Endless loop. Have to manually start vacuum all the time, which takes longer to vacuum. I want to set up vacuum schedules again. How can I get this resolved?

### 1/5 — Say App needs up update

*2025-05-29, version 2.9.6*

App says it needs to update however there’s no way it will let me update it. I downloaded the new app but it doesn’t work because my robot is a D6 help me out here.

### 1/5 — Basic functionality missing

*2025-05-25, version 2.9.6*

When you try to set up floor plans, there’s no way to see them in the app after a run. Instead, you have to click on an iOS notification which may or may not take you to the map in question. If not, well you’re out of luck and you have to redo the entire mapping cycle again. For all that is good just hire a few iOS engineers. This is embarrassing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — RIP Neato

*2025-10-08, version 2.9.6*

Super finicky, no update in 2 years. My D7 still works. But the D6 doesn’t. Don’t want to switch brands but will be forced to eventually!

### 5/5 — Everything is going well so far.

*2025-05-07, version 2.9.6*

I have been using the app for 5 years and it has always worked well. I may admit that I would like to have more options directly in the app for buying part of my Neato, but the controls work well; simple use does not need more.

### 5/5 — Finally works well

*2024-07-29, version 2.9.6*

This last update has made my D0 run like a champ finally. It’s a shame they went out away

### 5/5 — Much improved app

*2023-10-09, version 2.9.6*

This latest update of the app is much better, it’s easier to work with, as compared to the previous versions. I was frustrated by the version we had with our first botvac, especially with trying to get the Wi-Fi connection working properly. It was still a little bit challenging, after a second attempt at getting it working with the Wi-Fi…. All was smooth sailing. Setting up the second botvac was very easy after that.

### 5/5 — NEATO Needs More Stars

*2020-12-27*

I just got a D7 for Christmas and I am in love. The setup was extremely simple and the steps were easy to follow. Had it connected in no time. Once setup, I ran the special cleaning to setup my Floor plan— went off without a hitch! I then setup all my zones— very easy process & renaming for easy navigation is done in a snap. The vacuum is extremely powerful— the housekeeper came just last week, and the amount of debris Fran picked up on her first run was unbelievable. She leaves vacuum lines in my carpet— you can really tell that she’s done a great job cleaning. This first run, I had to empty the bin about 3 times for 1000sqft house. I was happy to empty, because I knew she was removing all of this dirt and dust from my home. I expect follow up cleanings to feature less emptying... I have set the schedule to have Fran clean twice per week, so it shouldn’t get too dirty between cleanings. Thank you so much for a wonderful & exciting adventure with my new D7, Fran!

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad to hear that your D7 was easy to set up with the app and you're happy with the cleaning performance of your Neato!

### 5/5 — Almost there

*2020-12-25*

We got the ‘bot about a week ago and are over the moon with its success. It goes places the big vac cannot, and cleans better than the stick vac we normally use. The app makes it easy to schedule and humanizes the bot. We have a Pro6 mesh router, and there were no problems setting up and using the vac in the farthest corners of the house; it has never dropped from WiFi.

There are a few drawbacks: the cleaning zones must be rectangular, which is inadequate for our ‘50’s style home. It wouldn’t be a problem if we could combine areas in software, or even queue a series (eg, “Hallway, mud room, breakfast area”), but that isn’t possible either. Since cleaning times can vary depending on barriers posed by toys and pets, the schedule has to be looser than it needs to be, meaning that time is wasted returning to base, or worse, skipping the area if the previous job runs long. It seems like this should be an easy fix. Otherwise, it is still way easier and better than hand vaccing. Love how clean the house is.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad to hear that the app is easy to use and you're happy with the cleaning performance of your Neato! We will be sure to pass on all your feedback to our team.

### 5/5 — Turn band steering off

*2020-11-02, version 2.9.5*

My problem was I couldn’t drive my neato in manual mode

After months of not getting anywhere I found by accident that if you have a modem that uses band steering turn it off. Even though the app communicates fine if on the network via different bands or AP it has to be on the same SSid and frequency to drive the bot on manual mode. Very please it’s working a great product.

### 5/5 — Does what it should, could be more intuitive

*2020-08-13, version 2.9.5*

It connects (pairs) easily, if you follow the instructions. If your wi-if goes down you will probably need to re-pair. Otherwise, everything works as advertised.

### 5/5 — Works great, but one suggestion

*2020-06-13, version 2.9.5*

Our D7 works great and all the features work well. I've had a few issues having to reconnect the vacuum to our WiFi on occasion, but I can't be sure that's the robot's fault, as I've had some issues with other devices too.

Requested feature:
The ability to set a one-time schedule would be great. Like "clean tonight at 9pm", so I can set and forget.

### 5/5 — Really good robot vacuum experience

*2020-02-21, version 2.9.3*

Using this app with our D7 has been a great experience to date. Everything is simple and intuitive to set up and use. The messages from the Botvac are genuinely helpful and informative. I appreciate that the app runs on iPad and Apple Watch as well (although I wish the iPad version supported landscape). That’s not a significant enough issue for me to deny the app the full five stars though.
