Like what exactly do you get with “silver” pay option ? Or they talk about weather but nowhere in this thing shows anything about weather. Very lacking ### 3/5 — Incessantly asking to turn on my location and maps are too small *2024-05-04* Would also be a lot better if you could zoom and zoom out on friends trips and locations. The maps are so zoomed in I can't tell where they are. I end up going on google maps and typing in the name of the nearest town but that won't work if they are out in the middle of the ocean. ### 2/5 — Was a great app *2024-03-16* In the beginning, this was a great app. I had recommended to others. But then things changed and now the logs aren’t accessible unless you purchase an annual subscription. Went from having access to logs to where it only holds three months worth of logs unless you spend money. It is like they decided to hold your information hostage. Originally it was simple and did what I needed I hope that they return to what made them successful rather than the current version 👎 ### 2/5 — It would be great if it worked. *2023-07-26, version 2.2.1* Great concept for a niche product. Unfortunately, it is bug ridden, fails frequently, and requires device restart to work again. The app interface is not very robust, and there are many missing, but obvious features. Maybe if they keep raising prices, the app will be improved. ### 5/5 — Frustrated! *2023-03-21* I used Nebo to see when Great Loop boats were headed my way. Then I would reach out to see if they needed anything while in my area. Then the app changed. I can no longer look at the maps to see where the boats are located. Maybe I dont know how to use the new app, but it has been very frustrating for me. Nebo has become virtually useless to me. Also, I dont know anyone, who can help me with it. While some may say it’s a Social APP, it’s much more than that . . . With its Boat Log features, Customizable Startup Checklist, Crew on Board Feature, Weather/Speed/Location components of your Voyage Details to include your mapped route traveled, NEBO is definitely a Captains Choice . . . NEBO as a Social App allows visibility to other NEBO Users, the ability to Direct Message other NEBO Users, Share Photos, Mark Points of Interest, as well as Posting Photos . . . Furthermore you can Share you Voyages with others you designate (non-NEBO users, friends and family) through web tracking link unique to your . . . In 2022, we cruised the Bahamas, completed the Great Loop and with the “Share My Location” option, we literally had a Boat Load of Followers keeping up with our progress . . . Take it From MV CLASSEA, “if you don’t use NEBO, you Missed the Boat!” ### 2/5 — Latest update *2022-11-23, version 2.0.3* Everything was fine up until the latest update. Now I regrettably tried searching for a particular date using the start date and end dates. The end date was two years ago. Now I cant get anything beyond that end date back, no matter what I put into the start and end dates. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Never again! *2026-05-12* This is an expensive app for what it does. The paid version is just as good as the free one. Takes days to upload the reports, is quite often inaccurate with times (apparently we averaged 1 kn/hr and took three hours to travel from Pittwater to Newcastle! What a joke. Very frustrating! **Developer response:** Hi Blew$2, we’re sorry to hear this. Taking days for reports and calculating 1 kn/hr between Pittwater and Newcastle is definitely not normal Nebo behavior. It sounds like a severe GPS or syncing glitch. Can’t log voyages and our boat is hundreds of miles behind us. I have reinstalled a dozen times. Glad I didn’t waste money on the hardware. Bad enough I wasted money on the silver subscription. ### 1/5 — New update is terrible. *2025-04-01* Fantastic app for boating before updating… now the map loads much slower, boats aren’t in the same spots when you zoom in as they were when zoomed out, the icons for the vessels are too large and the place icons are too small, voyages won’t save, font is hard to read, you can’t pinch and zoom at the same time and mainly my voyages are not being completely tracked aka they are stoping and starting in random places then going with a straight line. Very frustrating when it was working so well before, very glad I didn’t upgrade my plan, and waste a hundred bucks. ### 1/5 — Scarcely any users in Australia, waste of time *2024-10-19* This is an Australian app. As of 2024 it has almost no users, even in south east Queensland, the most popular boating centre of its home country. Most users are corporate anyway – rescue boats and charter boat companies (not even charter boat users). Don't waste your time downloading, there is no point bothering with this app. ### 1/5 — Not much use anymore, really disappointed *2024-04-18* Fab app when we moved aboard a boat 18 months ago, came to use it again in the last few weeks (April 2024) and the app has lost most of its features, such as the ability to share journeys, download journeys, even view your journeys once made, (because clicking upon the voyage only momentarily shows a map) then closes to another screen. Whilst I appreciate some features are now ‘subscription only’ the fact it “glitches out” when trying to view a journey, completely puts me off subscribing anyway. Such a good resource for boaters has now become almost, I might even say, useless ### 1/5 — No longer maintains GPS *2023-08-07* I was using this happily for a couple of weeks to try it out before subscribing but since the last update, if the app loses the GPS signal at all, it fails to reconnect and consequently doesn’t track the route. Even when ending the route it won’t update to the current location, instead defaulting to where it lost GPS. The phone tracks the GPS location fine (as verified on various other mapping tools) but Nebo seems unable to reconnect to GPS. As such, it is now useless. ### 1/5 — Silly and buggy *2023-07-04* I downloaded this app to follow a friend doing the Triangle Loop. It worked great for the first two days. Now, it can’t load the map. I downloaded it again, and that worked, but now it can’t find his boat name in its files. I understand Loopers use this app all the time. Perhaps it doesn’t like it used on an iPad, although that would seem an obvious flaw. Sorry, cannot recommend such a buggy program. ### 1/5 — What happened? *2022-11-21, version 2.0.3* I’ve been tracking a close friend of mine doing the great loop for the last six months. NEBO has been great until about a week to 10 days ago when NEBO apparently changed. The format is different and I no longer can track my friend aboard “Seaview”. Since our boat was wintering far away from our home, we were able to monitor our battery voltage with the Nebolink which helped us discover the boat had become unplugged. I love that Nebo sends me both daily and monthly summaries in a format that is much more complete than I could ever do on my own. It was also great to be able to locate and communicate with other Loopers on our recent voyage through Canada. Straight forward and to the point, deliver the product they promised 🙏 ### 5/5 — Never lost *2024-01-19* We purchased Nebo as a way of creating logs automatically. I learned about this AGLCA. Best money spent. We bought the physical device that went on anytime the boat went on and started moving. Perfect as you don’t have to worry about logging the trip everything‘s done for you. Another cool feature that I like is to take pictures when we’re under the way and they go into the daily log that we share with family.
