### 4/5 — Good

*2026-08-30, version 3.22*

Good channels and hosts (that sometimes drop off the app), good interface. Would love it if they allowed skipping /rewinding with headphone buttons instead of just the screen. Monthly price wasn’t worth it for me though, I did the $300 one time purchase

### 4/5 — iOS App icon background

*2026-08-13, version 3.22*

Can you please make it compatible with the latest glass icon architecture. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Great overall

*2026-08-08, version 3.22*

Most features work great and content is amazing. I have had some trouble with downloading

### 4/5 — Request - Autoplay While Locked in CarPlay

*2026-07-27, version 3.22*

Really glad that Autoplay was added as a feature recently! One request I would have is to allow Autoplay to function while my iPhone is locked and in CarPlay. This would allow me to continue listening to downloaded videos while driving without having to stop to unlock my phone and open the app.

### 4/5 — Sleep timer PLEASE

*2026-07-26, version 3.21*

App functions great and has a great UI. If they add a sleep timer it will be literally perfect. PLEASE ADD A SLEEP TIMER.

### 4/5 — Pretty great

*2026-07-24, version 3.21*

It’s a great service, and the app works pretty well, it’s not bleeding edge or mind blowing but it works and that’s all you really need. I do think the video player is a little sluggish feeling to interact with but it’s not the end of the world. Overall, pretty good!

### 4/5 — Great, with issues connecting with VPN

*2026-07-23, version 3.21*

I love supporting creators and having this ad-free service, but I almost always have an issue playing videos while on VPN. This makes me very hesitant to use it as much as I want.

### 4/5 — Potential

*2026-07-21, version 3.21*

It has great creators and topics but it could improve its search function and appeal to more YouTube creators that make quality content already

### 2/5 — Great service, crummy app

*2026-07-14, version 3.21*

I think the service itself is good competition for YouTube for those who enjoy video essays and other thoughtful, scripted content. I think the profit sharing program and the fact that this service has creators by invitation only is a positive thing for the world, and I’m happy to support it.

The app is not great. It’s gotten a bit better over the years, but it’s unreliable, and it just doesn’t feel like it’s designed to be used the way I want to use it, in a few ways.

For me, the biggest issue is that it decenters individuals content creators. YouTube’s app has a dedicated tab for channels I follow. This tab has a bar at the top that shows a list of all them, and most of the rest of the screen is a feed for viewing their videos in the order of recency of release. If I tap on a channel individually, it’ll show me just *their* videos in said feed. It’s a quick and easy place to check, to see if there’s anything new from anyone whose work I follow. On Nebula, there is simply nothing like this. It’s designed seemingly to encourage users to watch content the Nebula staff thinks we should watch, and for people who fly often (seriously, putting a dedicated tab for DOWNLOADS on the main screen?!)

This app desperately needs to borrow a bit more from the YouTube one’s design.

### 3/5 — Great content, app lets it down

*2026-06-28, version 3.21*

Love the content and it’s definitely worth it but the app completely lets down the service the lack of video queuing and recommendation algorithm ruins the experience to the point I winter subscribing again next year.

### 5/5 — Definitely recommend!

*2026-06-23, version 3.20*

A few older reviews from a year or two complaining about a buggy app that is hard to navigate but as a new user I have never found this to be an issue! Content is very high quality and I would definitely recommend. It gives me back the experience I want from something like YouTube whilst helping support creators.

### 2/5 — Great content, glitchy app

*2026-06-17, version 3.20*

I love the content, creators, and spirit of Nebula, but this is the glitchiest app I’ve ever used. It seems like it’s something different every day, but I routinely have issues with certain videos being incompatible with AirPlay, videos not fast forwarding when I move the progress bar, the app not correctly marking which videos I’ve seen, and more. Please invest more in your back end so that I can spend less time restarting the app every 10 minutes and more time watching videos!

### 5/5 — Needs Force Resolution

*2026-06-06, version 3.20*

I really enjoy nebula. In fact i bought it specifically to watch Mustard videos which i don’t regret at all. But the tv all and in my phone does not allow me to choose a resolution i want toforce it to. This needs to be fixed!

### 5/5 — Best I’ve felt on a platform, UI and search challenges that need to be addressed.

*2026-06-05, version 3.20*

This is one of the most ethical and decent platforms. The pricing is so reasonable and it gives me access to the kind of education and edutainment that I’m looking for. Unfortunately they still have many mobile UI difficulties, especially on the tablets. It’s infuriating because I want to give this 5-stars for its treatment of creators. There’s a level of search that’s expected in a video platform these days, and Nebula has a long way to go. But stick around to support it, my final opinion is: GET IT! It’s incredible just hiccups that need to be resolved asap.

### 5/5 — My favorite streaming platform!

*2026-06-01, version 3.20*

All of my favorite long-form content in one place, ad-free, without the distractions of YT Shorts or other suggested videos.

### 5/5 — YouTube can suck it

*2026-06-01, version 3.20*

High quality videos, great variety of topics, and my subscription helps support a great streaming service

### 4/5 — Good but could be great

*2026-05-31, version 3.20*

For the love of god, some creators have so many videos. You need to include more options to sort through the videos, not just the newest: by view count, oldest, etc

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crazy Lag

*2026-07-09, version 3.21*

I bought a year subscription to this app to support a channel I like and it’s crazy laggy. I’ve been watching a video for 20 minutes and I’ve spent 10 minutes buffering. It stops every 30 sec- 1 minute completely to buffer, and it jutters a lot in between. And because the streaming is so laggy, the video quality is AWFUL. It’s not my wifi- Netflix, Hulu, Plex, Youtube, and Apple have streamed without issue. I’ve never had such a bad streaming experience right off the bat. I’m thinking of asking for a refund it’s so bad.

### 1/5 — Podcast don’t work

*2026-06-05, version 3.20*

Podcast don’t work on Apple CarPlay

### 1/5 — Content ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ UI ⭐️

*2026-06-01, version 3.20*

This app and all associated versions (chromecast/iPad/iPhone) has to be one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Considering it’s a paid for platform and supports creators I really love it’s such a shame that being able to watch anything on it is nearly impossible. The casting function is unreliable and drops out incredibly frequently, and when trying the app for my chromecast it freezes and closes the app on its own all the time. Considering this is meant to be a good alternative to YouTube they really need to work on the user experience.

### 1/5 — No playlists

*2026-05-12, version 3.19*

The app is years old and still doesn’t have support for custom playlists

### 1/5 — Can’t close screen while listening

*2026-05-04, version 3.19*

Half the time I use this app I cannot listen while my phone is closed. Half the time I can, and I don’t know how this is even possible. Please fix this app, I like your creators

### 1/5 — Steering

*2026-03-24, version 3.17*

Please use the built-in App Store payment for consumers. It makes utilising an app and engaging in the flow of an app so much simpler and so much more iOS. There should not be a separate section for “App Store subscriptions.” this is an iPhone. Everything is an ecosystem stop trying to ruin it

### 1/5 — Flawed app sans support for Apple Vision Pro

*2026-03-15, version 3.17*

In 2026, any streaming app, that lacks support for Apple Vision Pro is dead on arrival.

Streaming on AVP is such an ultra premium experience that I’m not using any streaming app that doesn’t support said platform.

### 1/5 — Good content, awful app

*2026-02-19, version 3.16.1*

The app has so many bugs

### 1/5 — Stay with YouTube.

*2026-02-07, version 3.16.1*

The UI is old, the video are all click bait, and there’s nothing worth watching that’s not on YouTube. It’s not worth the price and the content is high school level podcasts.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-01-30, version 3.16.1*

App is terrible, filled with mediocre creators making mediocre content

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — For the devs

*2026-08-27, version 3.22*

I never get app freezes or crashes, which is all you can ask for these days

### 5/5 — Nebula is worth it.

*2026-08-17, version 3.22*

Nebula is a solid bargain in terms of content quality per money you pay. Other streaming services cost more and give you less. Tired of ads in the middle of your YouTube videos? Don’t pay them. Get Nebula.

### 5/5 — The Best There Is

*2026-07-31, version 3.22*

I love Nebula. The content is perfect, the UI is initiative, and the price is great! I would highly recommend!

### 5/5 — iOS icon compatibility

*2026-07-23, version 3.21*

Kindly can you update the apps icon so it's compatible with the latest liquid glass iOS operating system so that the app icon fits in theme wise with the rest of the icons. Thank you!

### 5/5 — My Best Addiction

*2026-07-22, version 3.21*

I liked the part where all the best video essayists are on this app.

### 5/5 — Canceled YouTube and haven’t looked back

*2026-07-20, version 3.21*

I realized that most of the shows I watched on YouTube were also on nebula so I just canceled YouTube and almost exclusively watch nebula. Brainrot is at an all time low in our house now.

### 5/5 — Great idea, great execution!

*2026-07-14, version 3.21*

Great app for a great streaming service! This app does everything I wish YouTube would, and just works like you expect. Give your money directly to the creator owned / creator run service!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-07-10, version 3.21*

Love it

### 5/5 — It’s nice. It has a lot of great educated stuff.

*2026-07-03, version 3.21*

I’ve seen many of my favorite Youtubers often talk about Nebula, today I decided to check it out and I really liked it. Also found some other stuff in there as well, like I said this is mostly just educational but it’s really great and I highly recommend it if you’re into that stuff.

### 5/5 — I can hardly express how much I enjoy nebula.

*2026-06-24, version 3.21*

As someone who mainly uses content as a substitute for access to rooms with intelligent voices, I love nebula. As a black man F.D. Signifier has been a huge influence on my life coming out of my teens. As a creative, Tale Foundry has done so much to keep me thinking about stories and writing them and why I love them so much. I really can’t put to complete words what it means to access a more unfiltered version of some of my favorites and discover so many more that have helped me learn so much. It feels genuinely safe in a way that other services just don’t anymore.

TLDR; Thanks Nebula, and shoutout to F.D. Signifier and Tale Foundry.

P.S. I’m not sure if Overly Sarcastic Productions are on the radar, but they seem like they’d fit right in at Nebula.
