Looking for an easy-to-use inventory app? NeedList lets you build your own structure — create categories, subcategories, and items just the way you like.  Customize colors, priorities, and layouts to suit your needs. Plus, printing and organizing your lists has never been easier. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 2.1.0 — 2026-02-06 New Features: Sales Snapshot and Subcategories Brand New Button - Sales Snapshot now has a new button on the right. You can now see a snapshot of how many items you sell in each subcategory as well as the Top 5 items in each subcategory, reflecting the most sales. New Item Size Section in the Edit Item Screen - With every item, you can now specify the size of the item. This is useful for things like clothing, toys, food, drinks, etc. It also helps when you're looking for items to sell, as it makes it easier to find something that fits a specific size. Improvements: Typing in the Edit Item Screen is more responsive - Now when you type in the name of the items, it should not lag as much as it used to Visuals in the Edit Item Screen have changed - If you're using iOS 26, more glass effects have been added. If you're using iOS 18 or earlier, the background of the screen is now a bit more transparent using an ultra thin material. Slight Redesign to the Barcode Scanner View - The Barcode Scanner view now combines the camera the bottom view into a pill shape and makes it a bit easier to use. ### 2.0.0 — 2026-01-05 v2.0.0 New Features: -------------- New Analytics View As you keep adding and removing items, NeedList can now track how many items you sell and restock with a new analytics view. Once you've done that, you will then see the number of items sold in a bar chart, and a line chart that shows you how many items you sell each day. Pretty neat, right? New Widgets High, Medium, Low Priority Items all have widgets. Same for the new Recently Added Widget and Best Sellers (30d).\n\nYou can view these by pressing and holding the home screen and tapping 'Edit'. From there, look around and you should see them. New Help Section In the Settings Tab, there is now a new section called 'Help'. It will take you to a page with more information about the app, and how to use it.\n\nAs each update is released, there will also be a new section that explains what was added or changed in that version. Printing View has been Redesigned The Print Selection View has been redesigned to make it easier to navigate through your inventory with more space and less clutter.Along with giving more space to your inventory, the menus for your print layout and your item filtering have been moved to a single button that expands when clicked.There is also another button which shows your best selling items in the last 30 days you can view! Show's New Updates when Available! When you open the app, if a new update is available and you're online, you'll see a popup with an option to download it. Improvements: --------------- Printing now displays Parent Company When printing your list of items, it will now display the parent company of the item. This can be useful for when many company derive from one parent company. Item Count and Storage Tracking Location Now Work Together As you add to the item count of any item, the storage tracking location (specifically the closed/in storage count for the item) will also be updated to reflect that change. For this to work, just add or subtract the item count ### 1.1.1 — 2025-11-15 What's new in version 1.1.1 New Feature: Need List: Inventory is now on iOS 18 - All the features you know and love are still here, and they will work just as they always have. Only one unfortunate compromise is not being able to have the All Items View appear on the bottom near the tab view. If there is enough support for the feature to come to older iOS versions, it will be included in a future update. If you run into any issues with the iOS 18 version, please let me know immediately! Bug Fix: Release Notes - 1.1.0 now displays the correct date it was released. - Just a small fix with the date of when an update was released. Nothing crazy. ### 1.1.0 — 2025-11-14 What's new in Version 1.1.0 New Features: Track your Items Expiration Date! - Now with any items you have, you can now set an expiration date. This will help you keep track of which items are nearing their expiration date, and when to replenish them. Track your Items Placement! - Now with any items you have, you can set the location in an aisle for them to be stored. This will help you keep track of where your items are. Redesign of the Items - Now with all items, the item view has been redesigned to make the information easier to read and understand. Improvements: Smarter Need System - When you add items to your inventory, the Need amount now decreases automatically to reflect what’s left to get — helping you know when you’re all stocked up. ### 1.0.1 — 2025-10-28 New Features - v1.0.1 Search by Company Name and Product - Added the ability to filter items by the company they belong to, as well as by the product they sell. Item Name Style Memory - The app now remembers your chosen naming style for each item, automatically restoring it when you edit or reopen the item. Improvement - v1.0.1 Date and Gray Lines in Print - When printing the items, the preview of the page now displays the date the page was created and gray lines that make each item easier to find. Apple Watch Glass Effects - The Need List Apple Watch App now has glass effects.
