### 2/5 — Crappy interface

*2024-12-04, version 6.8.1*

Non intuitive, dcrummy interface. The floss numbers get deleted. No way to restore. Paid for no add features, yet adds still play…

### 2/5 — Could be soooo much better

*2024-03-01*

Pro: Keeps track of your floss.

Con: A LOT of work to get your inventory into the app. Space key does not work when typing in names. You have to look up names, numbers, etc. You have to go to a different screen in order to put in your inventory number (this is the most ridiculous thing in my opinion). There is no pre-made database. Honestly, I would pay to have an app with DMC floss already available to inventory. This app is time consuming.

Developer, please made this more user friendly!!!!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we cannot create a database of all existing materials - this is unrealistic. Therefore, we have created a separate application Needleply with the most popular ones, where we add new ones upon request. So you can either add the necessary threads/beads/fabrics manually or import ready-made palettes from this application. As a result, you won't have a bunch of unnecessary material palettes, only those that you use. This is all described in the FAQ section in the application settings and in the store application description.

### 3/5 — Please Reverse Update Changes

*2024-01-27*

I always had a few minor issues with this app, mainly UI issues (like 1-click transfer from shopping list to stash versus their convoluted process), but this newest update has made the app virtually unusable. I can no longer look at a specific color to see which patterns I have marked need it. I can’t just mark that a pattern has that color, it wants a skein allotment. I’ve used this app for quite awhile, but it looks like I’ll need to find another app.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! There have been changes to the application, but all functions remain. The main change in the process of adding materials to projects, purchases, stock is that now on these screens, when you click on a material, you are taken to a screen with editing these materials. To get to the material screen, you need to long press on the material. On many screens, a menu appeared when you long pressed a cell. If this is still inconvenient for you, write to us fancycrossstitch@gmail.com and give us more detail about what exactly you would like to change, and we will try to make the application more convenient.

### 2/5 — So many ads now!

*2023-10-29*

I’ve had this app for a few years and have loved how it helps me plan purchases for new projects; however, recently it’s gotten to a point where I have an ad every time I add a thread color to a project. It’s kind of obnoxious now and takes way longer to get things organized since the ads won’t close for 5 seconds each time.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We are very sorry that advertising is causing you so much inconvenience. You can buy an ad-free version in the application settings -> store. If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 2/5 — Nope

*2023-01-14, version 4.9*

Deleted immediately. Got an ad in my face after a inputting 1 color. I’ll stick with thread stash on my android, much easier to use and input anyway. This app does not automatically add the color of the thread, you have to type in the number and type in the color name. I didn’t even get as far as changing the color icon before I had an ad. I don’t even know if you can. Avoid this and use Thread Stash

### 4/5 — Useful app

*2023-01-02, version 4.8.2*

I use this app to keep track of my cross stitch projects and inventory of flosses. It was a little difficult to learn how to use. The creator has some YouTube videos, but I find it hard to understand what is being shown - no audio or text. I think it’s pretty good for a free app!

### 4/5 — Pretty good 👍

*2022-10-13*

I really like this app and being able to have an inventory of my embroidery floss. Entry is a bit click heavy, I would prefer to be able to add a skein in the first screen of the color. It takes 5-ish clicks to get your skein quantity recorded. A simple “+” button would be much easier.

It would also be helpful to have a palette of Appletons wool too. I didn’t see that line offered.

Overall great could be a bit easier to add skeins.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! This way of adding gives a lot of options, but slows down the process in case of adding a large number of colors at the same time. We will think about what can be done to somehow speed up such process. If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 3/5 — Helpful app… workflow problems

*2022-08-26*

I am grateful for the app. It has helped me organize my threads! However, there are some workflow issues that make it very time consuming to use. Also, I am having issues with an iCloud backup from my iPhone appearing on my iPad to import. This makes me nervous that if I ever need a new phone my backup won’t appear and I would lose all my information. I’m tech savvy, iCloud is turned on and iThreads is on as well within the iCloud permissions, it isn’t an apple problem. Anyways, helpful in the short term but I may need to look for another app that I can trust more and has better workflow.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Now you can make backups using Box, Dropbox and Google Drive also. If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 2/5 — Where is “thread card”?

*2022-08-13, version 4.5*

Having trouble adding threads.

### 2/5 — Just downloaded

*2022-06-28, version 4.3.1*

Have just downloaded this app. Sadly it doesn’t seem to come with a manual. Just keeps telling me to tap on the thread screen but how do I find the thread screen. Shame, I was looking forward to updating my stash

### 4/5 — CCW isn’t showing the correct of “stock”

*2022-06-23*

I’ve come to really rely on this app. It helps me to quickly see what I have on hand and how many of each brand of floss and color.

The problem I recently noticed, is when you go to “organizer” then to your “stock” the total number of Classic Coloworks I have on hand says 47. It’s been at that number for a while despite me entering in more. If I click on it, it lists all my “in stock” colors individually BUT, when you tally them all up, it actually totals up to over 70+ colors!

Please fix this issue so I don’t have to count my floss line by line 😩.

**Developer response:** In the latest update, you can see the total number of colors and skeins for each manufacturer. If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2022-01-08, version 3.6*

I don’t usually write reviews but have made an exception for this app. It is great and combines everything I need in one place. I do have one ask/suggestion which would make it even better. On the projects page is it possible to have a new category of To Do and be able to filter the list so you can choose whether you want to see everything or just a particular category. Thanks

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too hard to figure out!

*2025-03-31, version 6.8.1*

I spent forever trying to figure out how to add my thread inventory. And ads! Ugh!!

### 1/5 — Update fail

*2024-06-16, version 6.4*

Used to love this app, could see my threads & which project they were used in at a touch, the latest update has sadly removed this feature and I now have to go into each individual project to find where a thread colour is used. The most useful part now is the shade card.
Such a shame that an excel spreadsheet will give me better functionality.

### 1/5 — App switch

*2024-01-31, version 6.1*

My ithreads app was replaced with this app with no warning. All my thread info is gone.

### 1/5 — Updated now unusable

*2024-01-14, version 6.0*

I really liked this app, used it yesterday no problem.
Looks to have been updated overnight - now unusable unable change or update anything I have recorded or I put anything new

### 1/5 — Difficulty

*2023-03-20, version 4.9*

I’m having trouble getting the full DMC floss listing. That’s the only brand I use. Help?

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2022-11-06, version 4.7.1*

This app is a joke. They clearly spent no time or money on UX research and now expect people to have to watch videos and leave detailed comments in order to help them improve their app. You shouldn’t need to visit a YouTube page to learn how to use an app, it should be intuitive. And on top of that, the YouTube videos are awful! They are too fast to even see what’s going on, no dialogue, no written instructions. Absolutely wild that anyone would publish an app in this amount of disrepair.

### 1/5 — Spammy ads

*2022-09-12*

Is there a way to get this app without all the spam on the pallet’s pages and the pop up screens?

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! You can remove ads temporarily or permanently in the application settings (Settings -> Shop -> No Ads). If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 1/5 — Gone to seed…don’t bother downloading

*2022-08-30*

This app was good and had the potential to be even better, but I can no longer recommend it. Today I opened it and there were suddenly huge ads taking up almost the entire screen and no way to remove them. This app used to have a clean streamlined appearance, but no more. The ads are so large they are intrusive and get in the way of using the app. Information that once appeared near the top of the screen is now displaced completely off the screen requiring the user to scroll past what amounts to a full page ad just to get to information that should be easily accessible.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! There has always been advertising in the application (the income from it goes to support the development of the application). It can be removed temporarily or permanently in the application settings (Settings -> Shop -> No Ads). If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 1/5 — Fails at the first hurdle

*2022-07-14, version 4.4*

I’ve started trying to use this app many times and given up as there is seemingly no way to use it for its intended purpose. You click on Organiser and it tells you to click on Thread Card but there isn’t one.
Close app. Don’t reopen for several months and find nothing has changed.

### 1/5 — App won’t open.

*2021-04-27, version 2.6*

Was a good app. Now, won’t even open. Zero stars!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really nice UI

*2024-07-06, version 6.4*

Lovely app with an awesome database through the sister app (Needleply) and sooo smooth to use. I tried out the app a couple of years ago and stopped, because it was so difficult to batch actions. Came back and the developer’s made it so much easier; I’ll probably continue using it. The price to remove ads is a little expensive for what it is, but if the developer keeps making updates I think it will be worth it.

Some ideas for improvement:
- Have a quick way to check off threads (individually and all at once) in the “Purchase” tab and have it added to “Stock”
- Have the option to collapse sections (e.g. Anchor, DMC, etc) when searching in “Add Thread” so it’s easier if you want to scroll down
- Reduce how many clicks it takes to edit skein counts (e.g. when you touch the skein icon, the number should already be highlighted so the numpad pops up automatically)
- Have a bulk edit count option (e.g. select individual threads, then enter a number to edit all their skein counts), and a similar way to delete them instead of having to swipe left all the time
- Not sure if it’s a glitch, but I only get the “skeins” option for thread count (no “metres/yards”) - may as well just move it to Settings
- More ways to list Projects instead of alphabetically (e.g. in order of Status)
- Keep updating the threads in Needleply (there’s some new TGA and WDW ones I couldn’t find). It’s already awesome and huge though!

### 5/5 — So useful for floss inventory and projects

*2023-09-09*

I have come to rely on this app for managing all the floss I’ve bought over the years, and love the ability to quickly track what I need to buy when I plan a new project. Some of the UI flows aren’t the most intuitive, but the utility vastly outweighs any difficulty. I would highly recommend this app for any embroiderer/stitcher.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! It would be helpful to know exactly what parts of the app were unintuitive for you. Maybe we could improve the app or add more information in the FAQ section. If you have the opportunity to write in more detail or in general wishes, comments - please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com 🤗

### 5/5 — Best embroidery/xstitch app, amazing developer!

*2023-09-03*

I purchased this app a couple months ago when I was obsessed with embroidery and cross stitch. It was almost perfect for what I needed, but there were a couple features that I felt like would really improve the functionality. I am so happy to see that the dev listened to the feedback I emailed them and was able to implement these changes/additions!! I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to organize their projects and floss collection. 🎉

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com 🤗

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-05-16*

I love the app. I wish I could pay one fee to get an ad-free version though.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! You can always purchase the ad-free version in app settings -> store. If you have any more suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 5/5 — I don’t know what I would do without it!

*2023-05-03*

It is a wonderful app that helps me to keep track of my stock, and makes shopping way easier! Love it!
I just wish changing quantity and adding to shopping list was more streamlined!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! If you have any suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 5/5 — I don’t know what I would do without it!

*2022-10-02, version 4.6*

It is a wonderful app that helps me to keep track of my stock, and makes shopping way easier! Love it!

### 5/5 — Works great

*2022-09-03*

This app is very helpful. It’s my way of keeping track of which floss colors I have and how many skeins. I also like that I can note if the floss color is kitted with a project and which one. It also keeps track of any colors that I need to buy. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone who wants to keep their floss organized.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! If you have any suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 5/5 — It’s a awesome solution

*2022-01-25*

Logical and flexible.

I am new to needlepoint and focus on smaller projects. I feel as though I buy a lot of the same colors. I began using the app yesterday and catalogued 6 projects and associated threads.

This app relieves a lot of stress!! The ability to associate the threads with a project is awesome. The current shipping challenges means that it is not unusual for a store to be out of two or more threads needed for a project. I now know if I already have a needed thread or I can indicate in the app that I need to buy a specific thread in the future.

It does take time to enter the information, but I feel much more informed about my “inventory”. By the way, I love being able to add pictures of both the canvas and thread.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! If you have any suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2022-01-16, version 3.6*

Very easy to use, I loved the visualization of the items with the colors, super useful! I was wondering if some filters or options to visualize or to group by family of colors could be helpful for everyone. Great work!! Thanks!!

### 5/5 — Just what I needed!

*2021-11-14*

Stitching late tonight and discovered I’m missing a pattern-called-for-floss. I just pulled up the app, located the missing floss and found a suitable replacement that I have. Thank you, thank you!! Of course this is just one of the reasons to love this app. What a handy place to keep my inventory of floss—not to mention a place to keep a list of floss I need—even by manufacturer’s. No more carrying around notes on crumpled up little pieces of paper. I LOVE this app 💕

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your feedback! If you have any suggestions or issues, please feel free to reach out to fancycrossstitch@gmail.com.
