### 3/5 — Okay but...

*2012-12-05, version 1.0*

While easy to enter and view, others have mentioned sizing issues. Very true. Simple: add in an option to create your own... Not just the drop down.

Also a crocheter: apps in the works? Or adding hooks to the list? 95% of my inventory is in but those other pesky few are the ones I have trouble
remembering and have to maintain a hand written list.

### 3/5 — Close, but needs some tweaks

*2012-12-01, version 1.0*

This app would be perfect if a) the length of your DPN & SPN could be displayed, b) you could also add crochet needles, & c) you could view details without going into edit mode, especially notes. Otherwise it is simple and just the thing for the job!

### 4/5 — Great and Simple

*2012-11-01, version 1.0*

Very easy to use! (However, I have 8 inch long DPN's, and I'd like to be able to select that length instead of having to type it as a note.)

### 4/5 — Love! Just one thing...

*2012-09-28, version 1.0*

I love this app, use it regularly, especially when i am at the store picking up new supplies for a project. I can check this app and see, without eye balling, what size needles I already have. It's awesome!

The only thing I would like better was if it would back up online, so that when I get a new phone, I can download all the needle sizes instead of having to re-add them (I have over 100 needles). If it could do this, I would give it 5 stars!

### 3/5 — Upgrade please!

*2012-04-15, version 1.0*

Useful to have at hand, esp at the yarn store; however some logical amendments would be helpful.

Home list needs units for sizes
Units should be interchangeable
Needle length options are limited
Add cable needles and crochet hooks

I REALLY like this app, please make some useful modifications

### 3/5 — Needles

*2011-12-17, version 1.0*

Great idea, but needs 2.5m size. Would also like to be able to tap Comment balloon to view, and to list circular tips and cables.

Love the skull and needles icon!

### 3/5 — Great start

*2011-11-27, version 1.0*

I would give this 5 stars if it had 9" options in circular and single point. I have more than 4 sets that size. Overall a good foundation.

### 3/5 — Love it!

*2011-11-15, version 1.0*

I'm very happy with this app, finally I can get all that I need in one trip. As a notorious duplicate needle buyer, this app is amazing! The reason I only gave 3 stars, despite my love of the concept, there are some minor issues, typos, and lack of options. Two main examples being; 8 inches for your needle length not being an option, and not having size 2.5mm available (currently reads 2.4mm). If these simple changes were implemented, I would give 5 stars in a heartbeat. Overall a successful app. Happy Knitting!

### 3/5 — Good idea

*2011-09-22, version 1.0*

Great app. Would be great for you to add all sizes or create flexibility. Missing 9 in and 36 in, which many my needles are. Great idea though.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2011-09-11, version 1.0*

Good app! It makes it easy to keep track of my needles. I just started knitting, and have tons of needles :) The one thing that it would make this better would be to be able to see the comments when you check the needles on the main list.

### 3/5 — :-)

*2011-08-30, version 1.0*

Lose the store locator feature! Anyone can go into their maps & search "knitting". Please lose that ridiculous feature & pretty please add yarn??? :-) I also wish the "notes" bubble would open if I tapped on it instead of having to go into "edit notes" to read my notes.

Problems: I have needles that are 9" long & circular needles that are 36" long. Those sizes were not available as options in this app. Please allow users to enter size & length or just offer more options.

I will re-rate & give this app 5 stars when it loses the store locator & offers more size & length options.

PS- I love the skull & needles icon!!! Funny.

### 4/5 — Awesome app!

*2011-08-25, version 1.0*

I think this is a great app, I'm sort of a beginner knitter, so I don't have a lot of needles, but I still forget what I have and don't have, so this is really helpful when I'm at the store!
But, I think it would be nice to be able to tap the little notes bubble next to the needle size you have notes on, instead of having to go into the needles information and tapping "edit notes" to see your notes.

### 3/5 — Good but could be wonderful...

*2011-08-03, version 1.0*

I just finished inventorying all my knitting needles. The App was quick to learn and easy to navigate. I loaded the App on my iPad and iPhone4. After adding a dozen or so needles on the iPad, I synched it and then synched my phone. Nothing transferred over to the phone. Is there any way to move the info from the iPad to the phone? I do not want to have to redo the entire inventory!!!!

If this is not possible, it would be nice to add that to the next version. Also, would be nice to have "aluminum" as a material choice, more inch choices (I have lots of 9" needles). Also would like to have a choice to indicate how many needles were in the sets of double points such as "set of 4" or "set of 5". Finally, it would be nice to have a section on each needle page to select "other" or "off brand" needle and a space to type in the brand name.

Any serious knitter could suggest the 9-10 major needle manufacturers to list as choices to check such as Takumi Clover or Addi Turbo. That means a lot to most knitters because we all have favorites to use with particular yarns or projects like lace or socks.

I did go around the fact that I couldn't synch the info from the iPad to the iPhone4 by taking the screen shots of each page of needles on the iPad and sending the photos to my iPhone and saving the images in Photos there. At least I can access the information while at a yarn shop on my phone without having to carry the iPad with me. It's a cheap fix but will work.

I

### 3/5 — help!

*2011-04-17, version 1.0*

I had a recent malfunction with my phone and had it replaced. Went to the yarn store to purchase and checked my app to see if I had the needles required and all info was gone. GONE, the several hours worth of time spent entering in data was wasted because there's no way to "save" the info. And there's no way to contact anyone to find out if there's a way around this. ARGHHH.

### 3/5 — Good, not great

*2011-04-14, version 1.0*

A great app for needles but would be nice if it also logged crochet hooks. There are no free apps that do this (that I could find). Also, doesn't recognize all lengths for circular (nothing smaller than 16"). But a decent app for the price.

### 4/5 — Icon

*2011-03-10, version 1.0*

I wish you had a different icon for this app. The skull and crossbones look is very disturbing.

### 4/5 — Super useful!

*2011-02-08, version 1.0*

Entered entire needle collection in a few hours time, using Notes field to include brand, and addt'l info about size. Love ability to sort by different criteria. Store locator works just fine for me and can't wait to test this when traveling. Small Quibbles: would be nice to enter both US and metric size rather than having to choose one or other. Navigating back to app from store locator not very intuitive. Overall though, quite nice!!

### 4/5 — Not too bad.

*2011-02-03, version 1.0*

I won't buy double of my needles again which is pretty sweet. But it would be cool if there were a wish list I always have ideas and wanna have it down in one place.
Also like others have said the store locator has not worked for me. Not that I really need it when I am home but when I travel it would be neat to check out new yarn stores.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lost Needles

*2012-06-16, version 1.0*

I have entered my entire needle inventory a handful of times and the next time I open the app... there gone. Lost. Never to be seen again. If this app could do its very basic concept I would really enjoy it, but until that day...

### 1/5 — Horrible, didn't save my data correctly

*2011-12-16, version 1.0*

I entered all my needle sizes and then went back to look at my inventory to find it was wrong. I edited the wrong needles (for instance it had 2 listings of DP size 11 needles when I had entered 10 and 11) and it wouldn't save my data correctly.

### 1/5 — Store locator doesn't work properly

*2011-01-12, version 1.0*

The store locator finds stores in random states, but nothing local.

### 2/5 — Not so good

*2009-12-02, version 0*

Don't bother with this for the store locator if you don't live in the US. Disappointing

### 2/5 — nifty but not enough

*2009-11-16, version 0*

I have to say it is handy to have a list of your needles when going to a LYS and this application does deliver on that front. But the overall interface is not brilliant. When selecting your needle type (i.e. circular, double pointed or single pointed) you still have to press 'next' and the same happens for each stage: material, size and length. In addition, if you are working in mm for needle sizes it comes up with sizing for Japanese needles as well (like 2.1mm or such like) which don't exist in the metric system. One more flaw is that it does not offer the 2.5mm size of needle, so you have to select 2.4. Overall it does what it says on the tin but it could be polished further.

### 2/5 — No crocheters

*2009-09-22, version 0*

To bad they left out crochet hooks. Avid crocheter also learning to knit. Would have been nice to include both types of supplies. I'm sure every avid knitter owns a few crochet hooks too.

### 3/5 — Okay except...

*2013-02-18, version 1.0*

...the sizing issue. There are straight needles that are 9 inches in length and the system doesn't have an option for that. It also doesn't account for interchangeable needles. I wish there was a scan options, where I could just scan the barcode on the bag and the data would input itself. Other than that, it's been helpful.

### 3/5 — OK Except for the Synching Issue

*2013-01-27, version 1.0*

Since it was much easier to enter the needle data into my iPad (vs the tiny iPhone screen), I put all the info in the iPad. However, it doesn't synch the info to the iPhone which is where I really wanted it to reside. Always have the phone in the yarn store, rarely have the iPad. So this makes this app kind of useless unless I reenter everything… Or unless I do the screen shot workaround that another poster mentioned. Think I'll just get a better app that synchs, though.

### 3/5 — Not quite satisfied

*2013-01-16, version 1.0*

This app could be so much better! I would nice if we can add how much needles we have and also add crochet hook. I tried the note option and it does not show what you wrote unless you "modify" it.

### 3/5 — My Needles Disappeared!

*2012-12-09, version 1.0*

I love this app until all my entry disappeared. Not sure what happened or when it happened.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2012-11-04, version 1.0*

Simple way to keep all of your needles organized by size, type and material

### 5/5 — brilliant!

*2012-08-30, version 1.0*

I love that it organizes my needles in size order no matter how I add them. I can give it a quick browse to see if I have the right length and size that I need for the project I'm about to start. xx

### 5/5 — Knitwit

*2011-06-22, version 1.0*

Great app for keeping track of my needle stash. All the info I need at my fingertips. I want to find one like this for my yarn.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2011-05-20, version 1.0*

This app does exactly what it said it would. I sat down and was able to easily enter in all 100 pairs of knitting needles.

I will never again wonder if I need to purchase another pair of size 7, 8, 5 or 3's again. When I am at the yarn store I will easily be able to see what size and length needles I have at home.

I like that I can sort my list by size, type and material.

Thank you so much, more money for yarn!

### 5/5 — Love it! Simple and free needle tracking

*2011-01-03, version 1.0*

You can't beat this since ever other app like it costs $$. I have been wanting something like this for a while. Like another reviewer said, I always draw a blank at the store.

To rate this app lower because it doesn't have all the features of paid apps is silly. It says it tracks needles in a few clicks...and it does. It doesn't claim to do anything more then that (and the store locator as an extra)

It would be nice in future updates to possibly include crochet hook and/or yarn tracking!

### 5/5 — 5 Star!

*2011-01-01, version 1.0*

Exactly what I needed. I will never buy the same needles twice. The lady at my knitting store was very impressed!

### 5/5 — Needles organized

*2010-12-28, version 1.0*

I love this app! I used it twice in the first hour I had it!

### 5/5 — It does what it says at a great price. . .

*2010-11-16, version 0*

What more do people want? It has saved me money already.

### 5/5 — Quite possibly the best free app for knitters

*2010-08-04, version 0*

Knitter's rejoice, this is a wonderful app for keeping track of your needle supply. You can sort by size, length, style, material, and thanks to the "notes" field I throw in my brands and colors. Since my mind often goes blank when I'm faced with a wall of choices at the craft store, this is a life (and money) saver. The interface is simple and straighforward, and as someone who's iTouch is approaching full I appreciate the small size (0.1MB).

My one minor complaint is that the navigation requires a lot of back and forth to enter needle information. Drop down menus on a single screen would streamline the process.

It appears iPhone connectivity is required to use the "store locator" so I cannot comment on that aspect of the app.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2010-05-11, version 0*

What a perfect way to make sure I never buy duplicates! It could only be improved upon by also tracking crochet hooks and yarn stashes. Thanks for a great little database for my needles!
