## What is Nemasis?

Nemasis. The mnemonics assistant for vocabulary learning.
Picture a cat with a long neck. That's neko, Japanese for cat. Now try to forget it. You can't. That's the whole idea behind Nemasis, for every word you're learning.
Staring at flashcards until the words blur doesn't work for most people. Your brain doesn't hold onto plain word pairs. It holds onto images, stories, and anything a bit strange. Nemasis is built around that.
HOW IT WORKS
Make a deck. Organize by language, topic, lesson, or any way you want.
Add the target word and its meaning, then think of a sound, rhyme, scene, or joke it brings to mind. It doesn't need to be exact, it just needs to be a little hook your brain can hold on to.
Describe your image. The more specific and ridiculous, the better. Nemasis illustrates it for you in seconds.
Practice recall. Each card shows the image and either the word or the definition, so any one of these can lead you back to the others.
WHY IT WORKS
Mnemonics aren't a new idea. They're one of the oldest, most studied memory techniques there is, used by memory champions, medical students, and language learners for centuries. Nemasis is built on three things memory research keeps confirming.
Picture superiority. People tend to remember images more easily than words alone, because pictures are more distinct and easier to recall.
Dual coding. Pairing a word with an image creates more than one route back to the same idea.
Active creation. Material you make up yourself is remembered better than material you only read, or borrow from someone else's premade deck. With Nemasis, you invent the connection; it doesn't need to be perfect, just the first silly image that comes to mind. A sock on a fish. Boots on a pig. Creating the idea is half the fun. Nemasis handles the illustration.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT
No streaks. No leaderboards. No gimmicks. No public feed. Nemasis is a quiet study tool, not a social network. Your decks stay private and focused on the words you actually need.
Every script, properly rendered.
A difficult words list that you can add to, so the words you keep forgetting get the most practice.
PRICING
Start with 30 free generated images, no credit card needed. Upgrade to 300 images every month for $4.99 if you're building a bigger vocabulary. Cancel anytime.
Nemasis started with a Malaysian rescue cat with a glorious underbite. Her name is Gigi, the Malay word for teeth. Unforgettable. Turns out the same trick works for any word, in any language. You just need the right image.
