Totally unreliable after having been just fine for a while. Things were ok. Occasional connectivity problems but they seemed to work themselves out until the past couple of weeks when we’re trying to use the ac as winter approaches. The app says all the things : -the system is off line. It’s not. -You can connect briefly then if all goes greyed out and you have no chance in hell reconnecting and get told the system is offline again. Wait a few days and you can get back on. It was pretty good for a bit. Can you please sort this out!? The update that included zoning control was good. Just make the damn thing more stable!!! So I just wrote this and then the phone updates the app. Let’s see if there’s any improvement ### 1/5 — Rewrite it use AI pls *2026-05-13, version 2.0.4* Every time open the app, it took ages to connect the device, doesn’t matter at home with wifi or anywhere else using mobile network. Just get a competent developer + Claude, you should get a much better app. Can’t believe it’s still this bad after 3 years. It consistently says our unit is offline when it is not. We paid thousands for this product specifically for the remote control feature and it doesn’t work. Quite literally a flip of the coin as to whether it’ll work, and most times it doesn’t. I wish I could have my time again to go with any other air con brand other than Actron. On the surprise occasion they do receive a reward, the rush is compared to the feeling of doing cocaine. That’s what it’s like using this app. If it ever worked, I would know what it’s like to do cocaine. It makes me wonder what the developers do for a living. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2026-03-20, version 2.0.3* It’s not unusual for hardware to be let down by bad software and this is a case in point. The app is buggy. It frequently fails to have any effect on the A/C. It routinely reverses your settings that you set just seconds ago. It’s more like a random number generator than a remote. Avoid if you can. Commiserations if you can’t. Update: OMG guys WHAT DID DO? How could you make it WORSE?! Who thought that was a good idea? Now the app fails to connect to the system for minutes on end. You are BAD at this and you should feel bad. ### 2/5 — buggy, unable to turn off a zone *2026-03-07, version 2.0.3* It seems that most of the features in the app work decently well but if you try to turn off a zone through the app, it will instead reset and turn every single zone on. This is extremely annoying because this is one of the only reasons to use the app. Developers, please fix this as it is a core feature and it is just not acceptable that the app does the opposite of what you wanted it to do when turning off a zone. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Frustrating App *2026-09-05, version 2.0.7* I cannot log in, the system knows my email address, I clicked on forgot password multiple times but an email never arrives. I don’t have a junk folder so don’t say to check this folder. Please help me. ### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work *2026-08-08, version 2.0.6* App and connectivity is always patchy. My network says it’s connected but the app won’t work. This happens constantly . If I had not inherited the heating / cooling system and it was not expensive to replace I’d rip all the hardware out and start again. Have had so many problems with this system and this App continues to be buggy and very unreliable/flaky to connect to. The system is supposed to be able to manage individual zone temperatures but this remains problematic with the system transitioning from quiet to “Gale force winds” without warning. The automatic fan speed control is laughable. Actron have been promising for over / years now to redevelop the system’s “User Interface” taking on board customer recommendations but have done zip. No problems Won’t connect to the controller since the last update. This is very disappointing. ### 5/5 — WiFi strength is the key *2026-02-22, version 2.0.2* We have owned our ActronAir Advance Series 2 - 15kW Ducted system for 2 years now. Now I have improved my WiFi coverage ALL the nuisance issues are gone! In my experience ALL the comments from other customers with “NEO Connect” going offline is similar to my experience which I diagnosed as weak/poor and or possibly intermittent dropping out WiFi signal. Trust me that even with NBN fibre to the premises (FTTP) connection, that this doesn’t guarantee stable network. You need strong WiFi coverage inside the home as well as NBN. You can run a signal strength WiFi coverage test within your home to see if signal strength is ok (if not purchase a booster, Telstra booster, Optus booster etc,) I have 2 x Telstra boosters in my home. In addition, ask Telstra or Optus, etc to run a monitor on your NBN signal into your home for stability. It’s possible to have fault at the underground box connection at the causing intermittent dropouts. ### 5/5 — Great App *2026-02-22, version 2.0.2* Have seen a lot of bugs, lags and faults before; but I can see the developer has been working on the issues and the app is improved alot since then.
