### 3/5 — Gut mit Luft nach oben

*2022-12-11*

+ Kataloge mobil durchsuchen
+ Anzeige von EXIF-Daten

Was ich mir sehr wünschen würde:
- Spaltenansicht und Symbol/Kachelansicht
- Editierende der EXIF-Daten
- Mobiles Tagen

Ansonsten sehr gute Arbeit, weiter so!

### 2/5 — Kaum Funktionen

*2021-06-16*

### 2/5 — Dropbox sync support is lacking

*2017-02-05*

UPDATE 2-5-2017:

I continue to be super disappointed with this apps refusal to allow you to point it to a specific Dropbox folder, instead of a hard coded, inflexible "/NeoFinder" folder.

Not only is this very inflexible (and as I mentioned before, almost every other modern iOS productivity app that I currently depend on allows you to define an arbitrary Dropbox path), but it assumes that you want to use a folder named "NeoFinder". But in my case, I want to point it to a Dropbox folder that I use for a work-specific NeoFinder catalog, that has a different folder name than my default "/NeoFinder" catalog folder that I use for my personal stuff.

NeoFinder on the Mac is outstanding, so I am very disappointed that the iOS app still feels like it's stuck in the iOS5 days. The inability to flexibly sync my desktop catalog(s) with my phone via Dropbox or iCloud makes the iOS app effectively unusable for me.

UPDATE 5-5-2016:

I'm super bummed that this app still doesn't support Dropbox in a modern way, like most other productivity apps do. In 2009 or 2010, it may have been acceptable for an app to force you to use a dedicated sync folder at the root of your Dropbox folder, since at the time you were just grateful that Dropbox syncing even worked to begin with. But in 2016, it is very limiting (and some would even say arrogant) to not allow the user to choose the location to store their app's data in their Dropbox. Nearly every modern productivity app that supports Dropbox sync either defaults to the "/Apps" folder, or allows the user to choose their own folder, so it's puzzling why Neofinder on iOS seems to be stuck in the past, in regards to this commonplace configuration convention.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Neofinder is a great app on the desktop, but sadly I can't find much utility in this iOS version simply because the Dropbox syncing functionality is very limited.

The main reason for this is because the app expects to find your Neofinder database at the root level of your Dropbox account, instead of allowing you to define a custom path to wherever you normally keep it. I like to keep all my synced app related preferences in a folder called "/apps" (as is the defacto standard location most Apps generally use these days), and I absolutely refuse to make an exception for Neofinder, because it adds unnecessary clutter to the root of my Dropbox folder.

**Developer response:** Funny, NeoFinder iOS actually searches for the NeoFinder folder in Apps, as the Dropbox guidelines ask for.

Also, in such cases, it might be a really good idea to contact our support.

### 1/5 — Doesnt do anything but search sample library

*2026-04-21*

Bought intending on using it for affinity photo file but cant get it to do anything. Images in the App store not in the app request refund after 5 minutes.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2024-08-18*

I was able to see my catalogs in my iPad. Not anymore. Since the Mac OS updates the little functionality this iPad app had is now gone.
I believe it is important to fix this iOS app, and I really, really, really hope that you are capable of fixing it.

### 1/5 — Fails to correspond, removed access, & kept money

*2023-05-06*

Beware! After many months with NO response from developer attempting to communicate with him on Neofinder MacOS 8, he kept the money & removed my license to it.
I had been using his product from previous versions but it seems he has no loyalty to his customers.
This is just a warning for those of you thinking of using this app which necessarily links to the MacOS counterpart.

### 1/5 — No iCloud????

*2022-03-24*

Só Dropbox?

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2021-11-27*

Description clearly states that this app is now available on for iOS. What it does NOT tell you is that you need a Mac and everything about this is for a Mac ( another purchase) to make it work. It is NOT a stand alone app and does nothing for you without the Mac. It should be more clear on what this is and the requirements.

**Developer response:** Actually, the documentation and the App Store Page explain all of that in very great detail.

### 1/5 — Not useful as a standalone app on iOS

*2021-07-17*

Bought this for iCloud support only to find you have to create catalogues on the Mac using the NeoFinder app there.

**Developer response:** All of this is described in great detail in the NeoFinder iOS Users Guide, and the also right here in the product information pages of the Apple iOS App Store.

### 1/5 — Das geht besser

*2021-02-01*

### 1/5 — Doesn't see catalogs on Dropbox

*2015-05-16*

It seems to connect to Dropbox but it doesn't see any folders or files. Useless.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind review.

NeoFinder iOS actually does see your catalog files in Dropbox, if the are stored in the NeoFinder folder in the Apps folder, as the Dropbox guidelines request. Check out the documentation.

### 1/5 — Does not work on iPad

*2015-04-05*

Does not work as stated!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind and helpful review.

NeoFinder iOS actually works really fine on the iPad, as stated, as you can see from the screen shots already in the App Store.

What problem exactly did you have? For such cases, it is a great idea to contact our support, or Apple support, if you had an installation or iTunes problem.

### 1/5 — So expensive yet useless

*2015-03-08*

I paid the high fee thinking that this app would allow me to search *any* file on the multiple hard drives I currently own, as it is written in the description. You can't search for a simple document. The app (as of version 1.0) only allows you to search for photos, songs and videos! You have to browse through the hard drives manually. For now, until updated, this expensive app is useless.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind review.

You can easily select the kind of file you are looking for the in the Find Editor. Of course, an "All" option is in there as well.

### 5/5 — Excellente application !

*2026-02-28*

### 5/5 — iCloud Sync?

*2023-10-10*

Hello, just wondering: I have a Neo Finder folder in my iCloud, but the app doesn’t use the cataloged files in it. Do I need to manually open them one by one for this task? Maybe I am doing something wrong?

### 5/5 — Just gets better and better

*2021-09-10*

I’ve been a really long time mac user but these days do almost all my searching on the phone and NeoFinder is by far the best Mac/iOS combined search engine.

### 5/5 — Great update

*2018-07-27*

Really useful update that looks good on an iPhone X now. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Super App!!!

*2016-05-21*

Klappt ganz hervorragend. Jeden Cent wert!!!

### 5/5 — I love it

*2015-03-19*

It's great being able to search previously scanned Catalog files while away from my computers on the road. I'm giving 5 stars for the super fast & helpful email support i received. As this is just version 1.0 it's only going to get better as time goes on.

### 5/5 — A great tool finally on iOS

*2014-11-20*

I have been using the OSX version of Neofinder for a long time and I am thrilled that this tool finally comes to iOS. A mighty DAM Tool to keep track of your files, no matter where they are on your system an no matter how many you want to keep track of.

### 4/5 — A good first step

*2015-01-29*

I have been using both Neofinder on the MAC and abeMeda on the PC for several years now. Once catalogs have been established, the real power is in finding things. Currently in Neofinder for iOS you can only find things based on file name.

I look forward to improvements being able to have improved searching capabilities.

Again this it a good first step. I had no problems viewing catalogs created from Neofinder and abeMeda.

### 3/5 — Get the Mac version, iPhone app not ready

*2024-02-09*

Struggled to get NeoFinder to work on my Iphone. Downloaded the app to my phone, but it opens blank. I had to manually find the Library files created on my Mac and drag them to the connected iPhone library folders. This took to much time to figure out. Once everything is working, all I could do is search. I could not add notes, tags or make new albums like I can on the Mac Application. I don't really see the purpose of this app in its current state. I would like to create a catalog of my artwork wth Neofinder using my iphone or ipad. Currently this can only be done on the Mac Application which is excellent.

### 3/5 — Eigentlich nicht schlecht, aber…

*2023-02-14*

…habe meine digitalisierte CD Sammlung eingelesen.
