I love seeing new card packs and trading with others to complete a collection. I started playing about a week ago, and I love waking up every morning to get my streak and my daily cards from my fav card pack. I have been getting quite a lot of duplicates while trying to get every card. But when I try to trade those duplicates in the most fair trade I can it says “ sorry, your not authorized to trade between unverified accounts” I don’t know exactly what this means because for the first few days I got the app it let me send regular trade requests. Its been a few days since this has been happening and I was wondering what this exactly means so I can go back to doing my regular trading. Again this is a wonderful game and I’m having no other problems other than this! I can’t wait to see new updates for this game!! ### 4/5 — Great concept, needs a few things *2022-01-12, version 2.2.32* I LOVE this idea for an app. As an avid card collector myself, this app absolutely scratches that itch. Trading, searching for new sets to collect, achievement hunting. It’s wonderful. That being said, the apps needs some a few updates. The browser version of this app is almost perfect, but for whatever reason the app is missing some key functions, like your Friends list. It’s difficult to trade with friends and you also cannot look at all their sets and cards too. Overall NeonMob as a product is fantastic, 10/10, genius concept, great execution, wonderful variety of artwork, intuitive trading function, works well for free-users, fair pricing models for paying-users, etc. But since this review is for the app itself, the app needs to catch up to the functions that the browsers has. I’ve tried recommending the app to friends and it’s a hard sell having to tell them that they’re going to need to bounce between the browsers and the app occasionally. I know it’s been 3 months since the last time this app was updated so hopefully the devs haven’t abandoned it and are working on this update, because this has so much potential. Thanks for your time! ### 4/5 — It’s pretty good *2021-10-06, version 2.2.31* So I downloaded Neonmob a while ago and have been collecting on very specific packs. It would be better if there were more categories relating to the actual card packs. There is also a problem with me trading with “unverified accounts” which I tried to look up multiple times but it seems as if every single person I’m trying to trade with is somehow unverified, unless I’m the unverified one, where that still doesn’t make sense because I got the confirmation email and had accepted it. Other than all of that this collecting game is really good! Not being able to trade hasn’t stopped my collection from growing at all. I would recommend this game for people who just like to collect random cards ### 4/5 — The site is great the app is flawed *2021-09-10, version 2.2.30* I really like neonmob recently got back to it and it really satisfies my collector brain The problem is that the app feels like it's missing features. Seeing profiles for example. The fact that NeonMob features smaller artists is amazing, but I think it would be really cool to see some mainstream media introduced as well :) I understand how getting the proper licensing could be difficult, but it’s just and idea ❤️ Another thing that could make this app better would be enabling users to see all past trades made. It’s hard to keep track of anything since all that appears in the Trades tab is how long it’s been since you’ve made an offer to someone or vise versa. More visibility of the trades in progress/made in the past would be super helpful With that said the auto decline feature is AMAZING! It ensures that you don’t accidentally give away your last card when dealing with multiple trades. It’s always easier to start another offer than to get a lost (possibly hard to get)card :) All in all this app is great! I wish we had chances to earn more freebies somehow. I loved this so much and was expecting some differences after so much time. Features like the wishlists of others and trades just don’t work right. I have to use the website to accept trades and if I use the wishlist filter for other people, it’s not accurate on the app. It makes trading difficult ### 4/5 — Addicting *2021-07-09, version 2.2.27* So I downloaded this yesterday and am now addicted. I love looking at the artwork! The only thing keeping this from 5 star is the fact that I cannot see trade activity on the app. I have to go to the website to see it. Otherwise, this app is great! ### 4/5 — Needs some work, but still fun *2021-05-30, version 2.2.27* Can be slow and glitchy sometimes, but I usually get it to work again by restarting the app or taking a break for a few minutes. The community is usually really nice and helpful, it’s just the staff I try to avoid because they usually seem a bit grumpy or cynical. Collecting cards like Magic: The Gathering in real life is a lot simpler and you have to deal with much fewer rules (and grouchy team members,) but I do appreciate the diversity of all the art available on this app, as well as the fact that you can do everything without spending a single cent if you want. I just wish that the developers would put a bit more time into debugging and that the team members would be a little more pleasant. ### 3/5 — App is harder to use compared to browser. *2021-05-19, version 2.2.27* The app has a “fun” feature where it shows you a pile of packs and you pick one and thr it animates a shaking thing before it opens. It’s time consuming and frequently freezes up while it’s shaking, or just takes a very long time, and I would prefer to skip the whole process. Plus if it freezes while shaking before it opens, the only thing you can do is close the app, and you also lose that free pack. The trading feature is lacking some stuff the browser version has that makes trading on the app (especially cross-set) frustrating if not impossible. Also, I think the browser does this too, but it sorts my series weirdly in some screens, and the series filters don’t really work, or will only show you like your last 4-5 most recent series. There’s something wrong there-it basically doesn’t work. In general though Neon Mob is fun, just, if you’re really into it you’ll use the browser for your “serious” Neon Mob time. ### 4/5 — Really enjoyable collecting; some app issues *2021-03-22, version 2.2.26* I didn’t expect to enjoy NeonMob as much as I do. You’re basically collecting and trading pictures on your phone, which seems pretty underwhelming. However, they’ve managed to replicate a lot of what’s really fun about collecting things, and I was hooked very quickly. The app is generous with its free packs for those who don’t wish to pay (if you play regularly, even more so), and if you’re motivated, it makes sense to go for Pro. My only issue is with the app, which can be dreadfully slow at times. I’ll select a pack to open and it’ll take 10-15 seconds sometimes for it to finally open. The Series Finder search can also take forever, and sometimes the drop-down filters don’t open when you tap them. So far, these issues are ones I’m able to overlook, and they haven’t kept me from enjoying the experience. ### 5/5 — Love it! My only complaint right now is the features missing from the mobile app. Specifically I’d love if the trade screen worked the way it does in a browser, so I could see pending trades I’ve offered and such. There’s a few things that are better functionally in a browser but I like the streamlined design of the app more, so I’d love it if the app were just as functional. And why these apps should be forced to use a decentralized storage service bc when their expectancy of living expenses is greater than what their app makes and they decide to give up that we can still own our cards. This is why web2 gaming should be shut down right away bc ppl invest money and time and their assets are basically stolen. I understand, no money chahge jobs but what about the ppl who invested time and money in this. This is like a multi year grift basically ### 1/5 — Missing features *2021-10-10, version 2.2.31* The app is only useful for opening your daily packs. All the sorting and filtering options you need to find useful trades are only available from the website—which is terrible on a phone-sized screen. So every time you want to trade something, you have to wait until you’re at a computer. ### 1/5 — Can’t even use it *2019-10-29, version 2.2.4* Used to be a great app but they have hardly any good artists submitting anymore and for the last three days I can’t even load the app. I had to reinstall it and when I did, the only set I cared about had sold out (MUCH earlier than I’ve seen a set sell out in the past and nowhere was the sellout date listed). The only way to get more packs is (of course) to buy credits at ridiculous prices. They also advertise sets that are sold out at the top of the page so you’ll see a cool looking set, go to open a pack and realize you were led there for no reason because it’s no longer available. Really lame, NeonMob. I decided to just give up collecting because of all of this. I would recommend the app and begin collecting again if they would source better artists, make sets less limited, not advertise sold out sets and make sets more easily searchable. In its current state it’s just frustrating and pointless to invest my time into. ### 1/5 — Crashing every single time. *2018-06-30, version 1.9* I cant get packs here cause the app is crashing when u click a card pack. Also, this app has been completely abandoned. If neonmob staff cared just a little bit more... it's been a year since i left this review and no reply yet. It is full of bugs now though. It doesn’t recognize when I am out of free packs on a set. It doesn’t update card counts after a trade. It tells me twice in a session about my streak. I can no longer filter an entire set by rarity, the blue dots that used to appear on each set to let me know which ones had available freebies disappeared, and it is taking way, way longer for anything to load on the app. The app has gone from fun to painful to use. (Trading.) - Search for people that need a card you have instead of only traders that have a specific card from a series you’re working on? (Siscovery.) - Search for new card series? (Discovery.) - View or manage friends, messages, and alerts? (Social.) The app does get updates from time to time, and what is there is very pretty, but there are a lot of annoying pain points that should be sorted out but aren’t. ### 3/5 — Recent Issues… *2023-01-26, version 2.4.3* I really enjoy using this app and collecting cards but recently I’ve been having a lot of issues with the app. Nothing is loading. I have to close out of the app a handful of times for it to maybe work once before it stops working again. Sometimes packs won’t open and when I close out of the app and open it up again, I lose one of my free packs despite not being able to open the pack. It’s really frustrating and it’s making it difficult to use the app. Please fix these issues. ### 3/5 — I love this app but the trading doesn't work *2022-04-06, version 2.2.36* The trading only works if you login on your browser, and even then it just doesnt show up sometimes. I spent years cultivating a collection from the Underwater Ice series, gathering all those cute little frozen fish and whatnot. It's a real shame that the site is going under this month, as it's played a large part in my life for years now. To any future endeavors by the NM team, I wish you guys the best of luck. WHY ARE WISHLISTS still not visible on the app? Or seeing what collections we have in common? This is really needed. I’m not going to go through 485 collections to find something, and we don’t all use the browser. There are some other annoying, but small things.
