### 2/5 — Constantly has linking issues

*2026-06-30, version 1.76.3*

Constantly cannot connect properly to Wealthsimple account and I would have to delete the connection and the data completely. Support tells me otherwise but their solutions have not worked. They told me mixed things that contradict each other. I don’t think they know what’s going on. There seems to be no app that can replace Mint.

### 3/5 — Passable

*2026-05-16, version 1.76.0*

I’m still on the look for a replacement for mint.
This thing is OK, the biggest problem is that it continually has broken links to your accounts which need to be sometimes re-linked every single time. Ie RBC Mastercard.
Categorization also needs improvement.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t stay connected

*2026-03-22, version 1.74.2*

Got this as a Mint replacement but it’s expensive and my accounts never stay connected. I have to go through the reconnection process for each account to see all my accounts together, which is one of my main goals. I reached out to support and they advise me to delete all my accounts and reconnect using Flinks, but that didn’t help either. The cash flow visuals are also not as intuitive or helpful as Mints. I’ve been paying for it for 2 years but end up never opening it because I need the time connect all my accounts again. I don’t plan on renewing again.

### 3/5 — glitchy - wish it was better

*2026-01-03, version 1.71.5*

glad to have found a Canadian-made replacement for Mint but the app is so glitchy on my iphone 15 pro on the latest ios26

### 3/5 — Can’t incorporate Transaction

*2025-08-21, version 1.68.0*

After the last update, I’ve been trying to add a transaction to one of my accounts (wallet) but it keeps shutting down before I can input the details of it

### 2/5 — Can’t link accounts

*2025-08-15, version 1.67.4*

Does not allow accounts to be added from Investors Group or Aviso. These are major institutions with hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of customers. Had the same problems with another similar app. Not worth paying for - not worth using as a free app either.

### 4/5 — Good but could be better

*2025-01-14, version 1.51.0*

3.5 stars really. I’ve been using this app since Mint shut down, so about 10 months. I’ve gotten used to the interface but the bank connections, especially to Wealthsimple and SunLife, are spotty. And when the connection breaks down and you remove/reconnect, all your past transaction get messed up so you lose historical data (like Net value over time). The budgeting portion is good on the web app, less user friendly on the mobile app. And it takes 2-3 business days for transaction (cc especially) to show, unlike Mint which showed pending transactions right away. I payed a lower annual fee at the start but already they’ve increased the price and I don’t imagine they’ll grandfather in older users. So, star lost for the sync issues and .5 off for the delayed transactions. I miss Mint.

### 4/5 — Good but could be great!

*2024-11-28, version 1.47.0*

This is a great start for this app. The ability to easily categorize transactions and create monthly budgetary goals is very helpful. What would make it better would be the ability to categorize multiple transactions at once, to make custom categories, and to forecast your budget for future months. Having to wait until the 1st of each month to make your budget means you can’t get ahead. Categorizing each transaction separately is a bit annoying when you know a bunch are all in the same category, and sometimes the app lags when categorizing single transactions (and it makes my phone get very hot!). And I love the automated categories, but there are one or two I’d add if I could that are custom to my lifestyle. Otherwise I’m enjoying the app a lot and will continue using it moving forward!

### 4/5 — Has potential, but limited transaction categorizations make it useless for me

*2024-05-07, version 1.29.0*

I find the app a little difficult to navigate, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It seems pretty good so far. However when categorizing transactions, if there is a positive transaction (ie a refund or money transfer received) in your account you are limited to only a few options. So for example, if I buy something and then return it, I can’t use the same categorization for both transactions to effectively cancel out the balance. The app is useless to me until this changes. It’s also counting my mortgage as an asset and adding it to my net worth. That’s a big problem. *Edit: I realized the limited categories is only on the app. Online you have full access. Still needs to be fixed. *Edit2: Fixed the mortgage as a liability by manually adding an interest rate using a web browser.

### 4/5 — Good app but some things need work

*2024-04-04, version 1.26.0*

Neontra has an app but also a browser version, that has more functionality. I am giving it 4 stars because it meets all my basic needs, and I actually like the budgeting functionality, but I’ll mention a few things that don’t work for me:

- I have managed to sync it with BMO, TD, and Scotia, but NOT a credit union and NOT to my investment accounts. I do a simple balance update on my investment accounts once per month, I can’t be bothered to input individual stocks and I don’t see any benefits to doing so.

-I have a pre-tax employer matched savings account, and the best solution I can find is manually change my investment account balance every month, but this doesn’t reflect in the “savings” category of my budget. I like to be able to know I am saving a certain percentage of my income each month.

-I imported 2 years worth of data but then had to manually go through (easiest to do on the browser version) and mark all transfers between my accounts as transfers, not income and expenses.

-I have not been able to figure out the “goal” function, or why I should use “goal contribution” vs “savings” as a category.

-The forecasting function doesn’t work for someone like me that has fluctuating income and expenses. This makes all of the “insight” and “health check” functions produce whacky predictions. I wish there was a way to turn this off, or toggle it to historical instead of forecast.

-similarly the “neos” are totally weird and not applicable. For instance I have one that says “cannabis sector stock holdings are 22.9% of your holdings” and I don’t own a single cannabis stock.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-03-22, version 1.25.0*

The app may be a bit ugly but this service is great.

### 4/5 — Cool app

*2024-03-16, version 1.25.0*

I know little to none financial management but I enjoyed learning from this app and I found the app very useful

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Didn’t work

*2026-02-19, version 1.73.0*

Let me create an account then wouldn’t ever let me log back in, says there was an error. Couldn’t connect to credit card.

### 1/5 — Can’t open the app

*2026-02-10, version 1.72.3*

Currently trying to switch from YNAB to Neontra, due to frequent import issues. The web version of Neontra seems nice, but the app just doesn’t want to open on my iPhone (iOS 26). I’ve cleared the cache, installed and uninstalled the app, but it keeps crashing upon opening. One week in, and I never managed to open the app so far. Not once.

Makes me question if it’s really worth switching.

### 1/5 — Not worth it.

*2025-10-19, version 1.68.3*

Needs a lot of overhaul of its automations. First I pay for premium and it has since I joined twice sent mean email for missing payments which I did not as I was charged and I had money in my account to pay for it. Accounts team come to me and tell me the subscription price went up and cannot honour the granfathered price I was paying as my payment got disconnected through no fault of my own but through their system. Also I pay premium to have multiple accounts and investments connected and except TD bank everything else needs reconnecting and re authorizing on a weekly basis. Overall dismal app and way worse customer service.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-08-07, version 1.67.3*

This app does a really poor job syncing to my accounts and credit cards. Too bad because I enjoy the UX. Wish I hadn’t paid the subscription fee

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage app that gets worse each update

*2024-08-20, version 1.37.0*

Genuinely baffling decision to enforce forced updates when every update REMOVES working features. What are you guys thinking?

### 1/5 — Too new to justify a subscription service

*2024-07-14, version 1.34.0*

The app is far from user friendly and clearly still in a beta phase. Went to use it today and my free trial was over. They are no where near in a position to be asking for money. $12/yr makes more sense than $12/mth. It’s too bad this apps don’t work harder at building a daily user base for free, weed out the issues, become more user friendly, THAN bring in a monthly fee. This will most likely make them unsuccessful.

### 1/5 — Useless connection providers

*2024-03-30, version 1.25.0*

Plaid don’t work with Canadian institutions (other than large ones). And Flinks is absolutely useless.
No WealthSimple, Tangerine, Rogers Bank… nothing better than a free app if you need to entry every expense manually..

### 1/5 — Not impressed

*2024-01-28, version 1.20.0*

Still on the Trial. It looks like it would be a good Mint replacement but it crashes frequently and can’t seem to stay synced to banks.

### 1/5 — Won’t Connect to Banks

*2023-09-03, version 1.5.7*

Got error message when trying to automatically connect with bank accounts that said “Sorry, the bank you selected is not currently supported in our system.” Didn’t work for TD, Tangerine or CIBC. Not a great first impression here, folks.

### 2/5 — Not great

*2026-07-27, version 1.77.1*

Nice layout but have to sync my bank accounts everytime I login, and now it won’t even sync at all so won’t be using this anymore, don’t recommend.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Like the app

*2026-04-15, version 1.75.1*

Does what I need. Recommended.

### 5/5 — Great finance app!

*2026-02-11, version 1.73.0*

This app does exactly what I need: budgeting and investment management. Recommend.

### 5/5 — Transfer transaction

*2025-12-21, version 1.71.5*

How do you make a transfer from one account to another?

### 5/5 — Wow

*2024-12-20, version 1.50.0*

Exactly what I needed to replace Mint

### 5/5 — Most improved personal finance app since mint

*2024-11-11, version 1.45.3*

Happy I found Neontra. It is the app I settled on after trying a few replacements for Mint. They’ve made the most improvements this year and I hope they’ll keep making it better and better. The web app is more complete but now with a redesign the mobile app is a greater companion/ good enough on its own.

### 5/5 — Great personal finance app

*2024-10-31*

I’ve used many PFMs. Neontra is easily the most feature rich and capable solution I’ve seen. The planning tools are especially good.

### 5/5 — Great design

*2024-10-30, version 1.44.3*

The app is no longer ugly

### 5/5 — Huge for my finances

*2024-04-26, version 1.29.0*

Migrated from Mint. Great place to keep track of all my finances from checking to stocks. They also seem receptive to user feedback which I appreciate.

### 5/5 — Extremely feature rich app

*2024-04-17, version 1.27.0*

This app has all the features I need. I use it with my 3 banking providers and I haven’t found any problems yet. The web version is even more useful but the app is definitely strong enough on its own

### 5/5 — Top notch budgeting app

*2024-04-05, version 1.26.0*

Great integrations with our mediocre Canadian banks. Super quick and easy to setup. All the graphs and balance sheets you need
