I’ve left it at 3 stars because after the fix there was not any content update and I have completely maxed out on the game storyline and side quests. Level 55 on the side quest on Apple is not winnable. I’ve played it and win multiple times but the constellations just won’t move over when uncovered. Thank you for support! ### 3/5 — Alright and fun *2022-12-31* Overall an alright match 3 game. I can’t progress in the story because the game freezes at the bookshelf chapter. Also I wish there was a tutorial we could go back and check to see what the various powerups and obstacles do, bc I forget and just mindlessly try to match around them to clear them and waste moves. ### 3/5 — Just fine? *2022-12-24* The game is fine, it’s a re-skin of Lily’s Garden, which I also enjoy. I would have preferred to see this story used as a plot line on the website. It would have been so interesting and fun for an old piece of Faerieland to have been discovered on the site, and there could maybe be a whole effort to either rebuild it or, as in this mobile game, maybe build something totally new. Or maybe even if the app was working in harmony with a site plot? I don’t know, I’ve been on Neo for a long time, and I remember a time where there was a bit more creativity and care put into world-building. Like, I remember when the art for many of the lands was being re-done, there was some story associated with it so there was some intrigue behind what was happening, and it was exciting. Ultimately, for a mobile game this does the job, and it might be a good mechanism to draw interest to the website. So far, I have been able to customize and decorate the outside of the first house, but after that, the interior and the second building are already decorated for me. So, I wish we were able to decorate more in the game. I updated my ratings to 4 stars - I am part of a Facebook group where others have advised they were able to keep their levels and status. If this was the same all around it would be five stars. I also feel that there is a player disadvantage as I am truly uncertain on how there are people with level 701 already when the game was released so recently. I’ll continue to play and will support Neopets all around and thank you again for reaching out. ———— Original: I was linked to the game for beta…. Downloaded the new app, linked, and everything was restarted. Others on some group pages got to keep their status. However for me it’s back to ground 0. I played 4 hours straight just today since I figured there was no other option - and I didn’t even get to what I had earlier…. This stinks. It’s a fun game and keeps you going with the plot but having to redo everything just downright stinks and was a dirty play on Apple or whoever…. Now if only it weren’t a mobile game. *2024-01-15* I want this to be something it’s not so I’m a bit biased but I still enjoy it for what it is. There’s a level of storytelling here that I haven’t seen from neopets since the old (now inaccessible) plot comics. It’s something I’ve sorely missed and reminds me of the old Darkest Faerie game for ps2. I so badly want this kind of storytelling and that kind of wonder and adventure in a new console game and it deeply saddens me that this is what we got. That said, it’s good for what it is. I’m excited to see more of the story revealed and it’s exactly the kind of thing I’ve been looking for to keep my hands busy when I don’t have the energy for anything else. I’m not a huge fan of mobile games but I’m still content with this even if I do perceive it as having a lack of ambition or love there was definitely some care put into this game. Some care but not a lot. Edit: After losing my save data and no new updates or content for 10 months I’ve updated my rating to reflect this particular brand of disrespect to the consumer. It’s still a good time waster and something to keep your hands busy but it’s not worth spending money on if you can help it. ### 1/5 — Don’t get attached *2023-11-02* I used to play this game every day but took a break when I hit a wall where I really needed to buy boosters to proceed. I was somewhere in the 400s in terms of levels beaten iirc, but I logged in again today and all of that progress was just gone. I spent real money on this generic game that’s on autopilot and my progress is just gone. Incredibly disheartening, and I don’t think I’ll ever play it again as a result. It’s been about 8 months since the last patch, and I doubt they’re ever going to touch this game again. It’s a fine time waster but not worth it if you’re just going to lose everything. ### 1/5 — Broken *2023-07-24* I tried to contact support on the app, but it’s completely broken and gives me a “failed to access” message any time I try to use the help and support feature. I realized this when I tried to report an issue with the levels. Almost every level I play fails to recognize which direction I’m swiping at least once per level and swipes in the opposite direction, sometimes causing me to lose the round. I have very small hands and fingers so that’s not the issue. I’m also an avid gamer with above average hand-eye coordination, so this is definitely not an issue on my end. This game needs to be fixed and maybe change the sensitivity for the levels. I definitely won’t be playing again until I know my issue is resolved, and I won’t recommend it to anyone. ### 1/5 — Can’t bind account, can’t progress in story *2023-02-23* Not sure why but would love some help. Sent in a help ticket and have not heard anything back… Is this a common issue???? Please help… Update: This issue with account binding has been sorta fixed… but still cannot progress in the story. Stuck at the dreaded library stage like quite a few others… :) This level is VERY early in the story and very disappointing. Have been in contact with support since Jan and still not fixed (though it sounds like it was supposed to be in the last update? According to the response from the help desk….lol) Please, instead of a canned response on the review, tell me what you need from me to get this fixed! I would like to give the game an honest shot, being an honest Neopets fan. Facebook (Neoepts: Faerie's Hope). ### 1/5 — Lost all data from BETA restarting the entire game stinks! *2022-12-23* Played and updated all of TestFlight beta updates when the game was still on its development stage only to find out that I had to restart all of my time wasted only to restart anew. I guess that’s one more Neopets mobile app fan lost because of it. I will however return if this “bug” has been fixed and all my data and other players data have been restored. There isn’t any incentive to change my decision since I have inclined to the Faerie’s Hope storyline since the beginning. Please understanding, thank you very much~! ### 2/5 — Frustrating. *2023-10-19* This is just a mediocre match-3 style game, but I enjoyed playing because I love the Neopets brand. I managed to beat all the levels at the time and then stoped playing for about 2-3 months. I decided to check it out again and see if there was any new content. Unfortunately, despite having linked my Apple ID, all of my data was gone and the game started over from the very beginning. Needless to say, I’m very frustrated by this… especially since I’ve spent real money on micro transactions. Now all that time & money is completely wasted. I’ve played games, like Candy Crush and Gardenscapes, that have been though multiple devices and years without being opened, but still retain all my save data (without having to link my accounts to cloud save!). TL;DR: the game is fine. Play it if you like Neopets & match 3 games, but DO NOT get too invested. There’s a good chance your save data will disappear, even if you link an account and use a cloud save. ### 2/5 — Cheap & Unimaginative *2023-01-15* Not sure what I was expecting from a free match 3 app game. None of the assets look like they belong together. It has a slapdash quality to it because of this. The game pieces are generic; they didn't even bother to make them Neopets-themed. That feels low effort in the extreme. Can't earn anything on your Neopets account so I don't know why you'd want to play it. It looked so off-brand that I went back to the App Store and double-checked I hadn't downloaded a phony version by mistake. Neopets will never earn back popularity with releases of this quality. Two stars because it's technically functional. ### 2/5 — Literally nothing to do at max level *2023-01-04* The game's pretty fun, I won't lie. It's got a few glitchy things, but I powered through. I guess I powered through too hard, because I have hit max level (700), done the side stories, and cannot go back and play levels or anything. I feel bad for letting my team down for team competition because I literally cannot play. No replay options or anything. I hope they add content soon, as well as implement some ability to get more tokens for customization options once you hit max level. ### 3/5 — Need more! *2023-03-09* EDIT - so seriously…when are new levels going to be added or have you just given up developing the app? I have enjoyed this game a lot…but I have somehow gone through all the levels?! Just disappointing that there is nothing else to do and I’m just waiting on an update with more levels… ### 3/5 — Hit or Miss *2023-01-30* The game is cute, that is, when it works. Most times I click to open the app, the loading bar stops at 12%, asks me to log in (bc it’s linked to my apple account) and then says either the request has failed or the request timed out. So, most of the times I go to play, I can’t. When it does work, it’s a cute interactive spin on a classic game. I’m a long time Neopian and put off playing this bc I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. Should be on Website or PC in general. *2023-08-25* Solid game similar to GardenScapes, etc. would also like to see this on the actually NeoPets website. NeoPets should dabble into mobile while also remaining true to their older PC audience. This is why I’m worried about the new mobile world next year. There should be a PC port for it. ### 5/5 — So fun *2023-04-21* I love this game so much but when is the next update coming so that we can unlock the castle looking icon and the other characters storylines? I’ve beat every current level and am almost halfway to beating them all a second time. I’d love some new content this game is so relaxing. I also kind of wish the design choices were all options the player chose and not some are and some aren’t but that’s just me. Anyway all in all it’s a great game thank you. ### 5/5 — I love Neopets! *2023-02-28* no game is absolutely perfect but for someone like me who can’t log in online to play, this does the trick. my grandma showed me neopets before she died, i was nine and so i kept it close to my heart. it’s perfect for when i can finally sneak a second away on my phone and it reminds me of al those memories i shared with her. ### 5/5 — Amazing *2023-02-16* This game is one of the best of this genre. The levels aren't insanely hard and there aren't really any micro transactions that make it a pay to win game. Its fun and the fairy theme is unique. My only complaint is that I wish I could customize the inside furniture and my fairy character. The intro tries to grab the player's attention and helps the player to begin a quest. The instructions are simple and easy to play. There are also rewards to claim for first time players. The animation is good and you'll find this game fun. ### 5/5 — Addicting and Quippy *2022-12-19* Welp, it’s been about 4 days and I’m completely obsessed. The art is super cute, the gameplay is addicting, and I love the story. There are so many references to Neopets lore, but it feels like people new to Neopets can enjoy the story just as much as long-time fans. Something I absolutely love, is the dry humor in the dialogue!I wouldn’t really expect it in a “kids” game, but it fits so well! It’s challenging enough to hold my attention and makes me want to keep playing instead of getting frustrated at levels I can’t pass which doesn’t happen often. The art is pretty and I like that I can change up the appearances of the island and characters. I also love the story! For anyone in the same boat as me, I selected Guest and it loaded the preexisting data for me, which I can then bind to Apple/Facebook/Etc :D I initially joined during the official launch, complete with a Gleam giveaway, and I had a pretty fun time playing it up until life got busy. I wanted to try and hop back on again, only instead of it auto-logging me in, I guess I had to pick a login option, and I couldn’t recall if I logged into Apple, was considered to have a guest account, or if an account wipe happened while I was gone, so I’m a little concerned if I have to start over entirely :( ### 4/5 — Great! However on my iPhone SE 3, my finger is as big as four tiles, so it’s very hard to move tiles around as intended.
