When it’s fixed I will make sure to fix my review!! I hope neopets makes a return!! ### 3/5 — Times Change But Functionality is Still Expected *2023-03-02, version 1.4.3* I get that things change. I played Neopets back when that Nav bar was in the left side of the screen. But I’m not writing this to bash the progression of things. This game doesn’t function well. I try to send pets to the cafe but the option to confirm doesn’t appear unless I restart the app. Remaining resources after crafting are inaccurate. Also, while this may be intended, why do I have to craft tools every time I collect something new even if I have already crafted it? Even if I send one pet with the tool to gather something. Afterwards the tool has to be crafted all over again often using the resources I just gathered to craft something else. Frustrating. And I got to the point in the reporter quest line where I am supposed to connect evidence on the board. The only similarity is the claw marks on the shell and ice cube. It will not actually connect. However, when I go to see if anything has progressed I am still being asked to connect evidence. It feels as if if I do not connect evidence now the quest line cannot progress. It’s caused the question mark to remain as if I haven’t completed the task and the reporter will not do anything else. The bulletin board is strange too. I fulfilled requests there but the pets are still asking around the island for the items. I got the rewards but it seems like when tasks are completed, like the resources not reflecting usage, it is not acknowledged in every in game spot that it should. It’s almost like different clusters of information that should update according to other clusters are not connected so they’re all reflecting the wrong information. ### 3/5 — They did shoyru dirty *2023-02-24, version 1.4.3* I was so sad when I saw the 3D shoyru vs the 3D lupe the lupe was perfect. And shoyru looks so derpy. They literally made the models and toys perfectly so why ruin a good thing? Really nervous about what neopets is going to do in the future 😕 ### 3/5 — Too much grind and buggy *2022-10-01, version 1.4.3* Long time Neopets player, I’m sorely familiar with their (though I’m sure TNT and this team are different) lack of concern with what the people actually want. That said, here’s my review: Lovely game! I like the graphics and characters and crafting. However, it takes a lot of grind and hours of play to get a minuscule amount of the huge amount of resources. It gets very frustrating constantly redirected to the gather the resource which I never seem to have enough of (if it even updates correctly as I’m crafting). The ad wheel offers some assistance with this but the ads are an obnoxious and tedious money grab (though I suppose it’s better than having the insane amount of ads everywhere on the Neopets site). The game is cute and I want to continue playing but it’s not incredible user friendly. This includes (still) being unable to link my apple accounts to play on mobile instead of my tablet. And I’m still unable to link my Neopets account. The FAQ section said this bug was being worked on in 2021, so I’d like to hope it may be remedied soon. I would love to be able to have an easier access to gaining resources and crafting or perhaps getting more per harvest. It’s quite tedious moving from each side of the island to get what I need. Having to constantly craft the necessary tools to get resources, harvest resources to craft these things to get a tiny amount of resources in exchange is incredibly time consuming. The decorations are great, the buildings are adorable, and the Neopets in action are great to see. I was a beta version Tester and I didn’t see much improvement since beta to now tbh. Personally, I’ve played Neopets for 18+ years. I’m disappointed in the site being on the back burner and these apps being prioritized. While I understand the age of apps and such and I don’t believe Neopets will ever be fixed. I would love to see recognition of the site that built the lore and characters being used in this. I think loyal Neopets players would give more support for the various apps and sites if our loyalty was recognized by fixing the site. Ik the site doesn’t have anything to do with the app, hence my three stars. But, neo gave a base to this apps existence. And now it’s just a forgotten dead-adobe flash site. Back to the app, I would love to see some more Neopets lore incorporation and perhaps a more specific meter of needs to actually get my town happiness up (which is more difficult than needed tbh). Easier to access crafting and more profitable harvests would be so helpful and make playing a bit more enjoyable. ### 1/5 — An ugly, bug-riddled cash grab *2022-09-12, version 1.4.3* Some of the ugliest, most uncanny valley 3D character models I’ve ever seen outside of the weird “Spider-Man/Elsa” YouTube videos. The app crashes constantly, buttons randomly stop responding, the account linking options don’t do anything, and it is CONSTANTLY displaying advertisements, many of which are flat out inappropriate for the target audience(I’ve seen ads for a gory shark game and multiple gambling games so far). After every quest it pops up an ad asking for $20 to get some worthless in game furniture, and even paywalls quests behind the purchase of furniture (or you can spend literal weeks grinding resources to get the same item that it wants you to buy for $20 - the free option is too unreasonable to actually count as an option.) By far the laziest, most cynical spin-off game I’ve ever seen, to the point that at first I legitimately thought it was a bootleg knockoff. But what do you expect from a company that decided to try turning their kids game into a market for NFTs? ### 3/5 — I like it but room for improvement *2022-09-10, version 1.4.3* Currently in game I am max level of 15, bought the starter pack, and have all the available Neopets. My biggest issues are that there are only 9 species of Neopets while they advertise a lot more and seemingly have the models made. Another is linking your Neopets account, it won’t let you and the devs do not message back, as this game is not made by Neopets staff it’s outsourced. Those QOL improvements would make the game much better. All in all, not bad, but could be better. ### 2/5 — Cant link account *2022-09-08, version 1.4.3* I was looking forward to this game coming to iOS so I can link my account for the rewards but you can not link your account. I have redownloaded the app multiple times now and still nothing ### 2/5 — Very cute, but aggressively bugged. *2022-09-07, version 1.4.3* It’s frustrating that even on the lowest quality setting, being close to the router, and moving very slowly in the game all aren’t helping me with its performance issues. If I play the game fair and end up getting lucky on wheel spins, the game will claim suspicious activity and take away all my progress at the spinning wheel. I’m hoping these issues will be fixed if we are just honest about them, because at first I adored the game. The random moments of the creek refusing to respond to dragging motions I was able to take during the tutorial stage. I’d have to completely close out. And reopen… then wait for it to load. Now it’s more frustration with that frequently happening daily on top of many other bugs I experience. I really want to give more stars because this is a competent game. I’ll leave another review when the issues lessen. ### 2/5 — Unable to link Neopets Account. *2022-09-01, version 1.4.3* I’m unable to link my Neopets account to the game and I have contacted the support team, didn’t get a reply back. Please fix this, I will make the rating 5*. ### 3/5 — It’s ok *2022-08-25, version 1.4.2* It’s a cute little game and I’m not that far into it, but trying to place decorations where I want them feels extremely weird ### 3/5 — 3D Era *2022-08-10, version 1.4.2* Old games are slowly becoming 3D, which is usually awful… This game is ok and pretty cute but it’s nothing like the original (obviously). I’m gonna keep playing, but prepare for the backlash of OG Neopets players. Nothing happens. The setting button works. Kinda bummed that it’s literally unplayable. I used to love neopets back in the day, so i was really wanting to play this game! This game doesn’t, you talk to a person then you have to build something and wait hours for it to finish. If you want to expedite the process it costs about $30 to speed up a 24 hour build. Then once you’re done building you talk to another NPC and have to do another 24 hour build. The game constantly crashes and resets progress, idk how it got all these high ratings.
