Is this app even still up and running? Because why can’t I set up my camera and why won’t it let me log in/join?

This camera is cheap for a reason it is very poor quality in every functions. The detection doesn’t work majority of the times. The night vision doesn’t work you can’t see anything at night. Even when I turn off audio detection and it still sends audio. The camera will stopped working without any explanation and i go through the set up process with no success and out of the blue it works. The worst bit is the software doesn’t understand the difference between sun shadows, rain, a fly, tree motion and a person and it records the same motion, which overwhelms not just the camera but your energy. The camera starts to crash because of the clips being recorded when it chooses to work. This camera is disappointed because I have a lot of difficulty from antisocial behaviour at my home and I really the security to get the data I need for the authorities. This camera has left me overwhelmed because it doesn’t do anything right. I pay £3.49 subscription and it doesn’t give anything in return. The customer support team doesn’t make any effort to resolve the issue and they simply say everything is fine. They never answer all you get is a automated response and once in a while you will get 1 responses and that is it. My advice is put your faith and money in Ring security services because the team calls you back, they email, they do remote support by accessing your content on their side. So spend £50 extra and you will save yourself energy and time and frustration. Good luck

### 2/5 — Cameras ok, App not so good

The hardware is pretty good for the money. I had two cameras outside (using the Neos outdoor surrounds) for two years and they still work perfectly. However, Audio doesn’t work and is often not recorded on all cameras.. and when it is, the quality is so poor one cannot hear it clear enough for it to be of any use!

The app is of poor design and doesn’t function well. It crashes 100% of the time when switching between cameras and despite numerous complaints to Neos, it’s still an ongoing issue.

Also technical support is virtually non-existent and anything but technical, with scripted replies. Occasionally (and to be fair, it is only on occasions) their servers go .down but it seems to take them a few days (or longer) to get them up and running again. Any clips or events happening during this period is sadly not recorded or seen! Make sure you do your homework first before investing. I use 7 of these cams and have done for over 2 years, but I’m keeping an eye out on the rivals.

### 1/5 — Loss of connection and service after moving house and updating

I have been using these indoor cameras for well over 12 months and on the whole I’ve been very pleased with them. Originally bought to keep an eye on my pets when I’m out of the house and it’s been a great asset. 
Unfortunately after moving them to a new router with sane internet provider and new property and completing the latest updates for the last week I am having many issues of not connecting , loading stuck on 33% and all 3 are now not recording anything or enabling me to live view since yesterday when I’m out and about !! Very frustrating. My last attempt to regain access will be to remove all devices and the app and start up again. I don’t know whether it’s my end or at Neos but the only time anything remotely like this happened in the past was when Neos were updating their records/system a couple of months ago.

We bought our cameras back in 2019 as they’re a really good cheap way to add extra security, we even paid for the subscription to add longer recording times while we were on holiday and it definitely gives peace of mind, however I have to log into the app literally every time I want to use it at the moment, for some reason there isn’t even the ability to save the password on my phone like with other apps, so you have to type out the password, which as is common now has to be as awkward as possible for security. Please, if you can’t fix the login issues could you at least let my phone recognise my face and login that way, so I don’t have to keep typing the password in. Thanks.
In response to developer reply I’m already using 3.14.1 and it’s got the same issues, been hoping with every update for a long time the issue would be resolved but I suspect you can’t find the problem?

### 4/5 — Overall very good but some persistent bugs

Overall I have been very happy with these cameras and the app. They are way cheaper than some other cctv alternatives and in some respects you get what you pay for but it’s been a super cost effective way to add some security.

Pros - cheap and easy to install, I now have 4 cameras including one outside, which is housed in a waterproof case I bought. I pay for the subscription service to get longer recordings and more features. But it’s not a lot each month. It’s possible to use them without this and I did for a while. Video quality is very good considering the cost.

Cons - main issue I have had is the unreliability of the auto arming function. It worked fine for a long time and then something must have happened with an update and it’s constantly getting stuck on thinking I am away when the app even shows I am at home on the map. Tried contacting customer services and that didn’t help at all.

Other issue is false alarming. It isn’t as good at rejecting spurious signals. So rain and bugs set my external camera off all the time. 

Overall If it weren’t for the auto arming issue I would be very happy. It isn’t as good as more expensive systems, but you can’t complain about that at this price point!

And the cons do help us understand what would make the system better for our customers and is always welcomed. 

Just to let to you know, the SmartCams are designed for internal use and the scene should be totally static when nothing untoward is happening, so if you have the SmartCam facing somewhere that the environment could randomly trigger the motion detection, then the SmartCam will randomly be in its 'cooldown' phase. 

Please try to position the SmartCam in such a way that it is not looking at anything that could move randomly, like cars, trees, or wildlife.

The camera works brilliantly, very clear , and the recording features are good too, but the app just doesn’t work anymore, it did for a while but for months and months now it does not let me click on live feed or view the recorded clips, just keeps loading, it’s still recording clips because I get the notifications , and I can view the live feed on my Alexa and all the internet signal is fine ect, so it is 100% the app, I’ve deleted and reinstalled ect , still not working, other family members I recommended getting the camera to because it worked so well at first are having similar problems, going to have to go to another camera supplier now because it’s no use if I can’t watch the clips, a shame considering I’ve been a Neos boost customer for over a year now and had recommended to so many people

### 3/5 — Buggy and slow to load

Last update was three weeks ago and since then the app regularly forgets login credentials forcing me to have to relogin. Added to this, the app hangs on the first page for 10 seconds which means I can’t quickly access the camera if I’m notified of some activity. This app is really frustrating as the cameras are missing some important features and a snappy reliable application would make up for these shortcomings. Can we please enable some form of local live stream so that we can fallback to CCTV software, the app is horrible and there is no alternative. I won’t be buying or recommending this camera to anyone else in its current state. 

Also, what’s happened to support? If I’d been able to drop a discrete message to support with these issues I wouldn’t feel compelled to communicate my grievances here on the App Store.
