It was easy enough to make an account. However, that’s where it stops. None of the videos will play aside from the very first one upon signing in. I closed the app and went back in. The video tried to play, skipped a couple of times, then completely stopped. I can’t even accurately judge any of the programming because none of the content will play. Hope it gets fixed so I can give a better rating later. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-11-28, version 1.3* App locked behing a paywall! ### 1/5 — Couldn’t Even Begin *2025-11-06, version 1.3* I have been following this apps development for a year. I’d joined the discord, followed the updates, and so on. Even reserved a user ID way back when. Finally had a chance to download (primarily an android user, but recently acquired iPad), and can’t even sign in. Tried to use the email I pre registered with way back when, didn’t work or go through. Tried to make a new account, and was asked to enter an invite code. Frankly, I don’t have the patience the jump threw these hoops to even make an account, and with reading other reviews saying you now have to pay for it, it’s a hard NO for me. Super disappointed, as I was looking forward to this app. ### 1/5 — App is basically non-functional *2025-11-02, version 1.3* First thing I’m greeted with after waiting a year to get a code to join is a welcome video that can’t load. I set up my profile and then go to post a video. It defaults to selfie mode but you can pick a video from your camera roll so I do so. Then try to enter text in the caption pane (which is required to post the video) and it just pops me back to the selfie camera. I tried six times to get it to work and it won’t let you enter text in the caption pane. Just sends me back to the camera. So I try to find a help menu and the menu icon (three lines in the upper right corner) doesn’t do anything. No other way to access any other kind of menu. So this app is useless at this point. Glad I waited a year to get on it. 🙄 ### 1/5 — THE NOPE-TUNE *2025-10-29* ONLY 70 REVIEWS SHOWS NOBODY IS DOWNLOADING: I knew from the start something wasn’t right with this organization. All this waiting , false starts and jumping through hoops for total garbage . Sending out keys? They stated they were different from TikTok and Instagram. Yes TikTok and Instagram have real Intellectual Software Engineers at work. These idiot have rejects from who’s dumber than a fifth grader . ### 2/5 — Why? *2025-10-18, version 1.3* So it took almost 3 hours to get my “account” to work with a bunch of back and forth emails work support. Then when I’m on the app there’s literally NO feed at all. I can’t find people to interact with or see other videos and obviously my one post has zero viewers because again there’s NO FEED. There are “features” on the menu that do absolutely nothing and it’s a good thing I waited for this Oh and did I mention they made the discord feeds read only so that’s fun I have over 25k followers on Tiktok none of whom got an invite code. I literally have more TikTok followers that Neptune has users. ### 1/5 — Posing *2025-10-17* Takes a long time to upload a video. Every time you leave the page and go back. It says lost connection. ### 1/5 — Barely Works *2025-10-11* I want to love Neptune, but whenever I go into the app, the feed doesn’t work. Sometimes it works if you refresh enough but the majority of the time that doesn’t fix it either. Once posted you can’t see, edit, or delete them. ### 1/5 — Same problems, somehow worse *2025-09-29* From a poor launch to poor management, it’s no surprise that Neptune isn’t hitting even 10k users. The remaining staff (who didn’t leave TWO WEEKS after launch) are rude, wannabe tech bros who have no idea how to take criticism and use it to better their craft. They can’t even maintain their other social media pages to keep people hyped and engaged, so take that into consideration when trying to join this (very buggy) social media app. If you want to watch reposts of subpar lip sync TikToks with a bad filter over them or other content you’d usually just scroll past, then hey this is the place for you. But there is no community, there is no engagement. Yet they’ll beg you to PAY promote posts to push them to a barely looked at feed. ### 1/5 — What a disaster of a launch *2025-09-28, version 1.3* And after all that time waiting and after seeing the backlash from the way it wasn’t released to people that reserved their accounts last year, they’re still requiring an access code. But hey, you can always pay your way in only to find a buggy was not worth the money. I’m not getting discord just to sign up. Additionally, I’ve been hearing rumors that you have to pay for the app now. Not happening. Overall, I’m lovin’ it! ### 5/5 — An excellent app in progress *2025-09-26* The app itself is excellent but it’s not without its flaws that being said it’s still an excellent app. It’s been through some bumps and it’s had to do some reworks however, I love the fact that the feed is nice and smooth and granted more features are coming, but I want to remind the public that this app is still being developed and still being tested so you’re gonna see things you may not be used to but no app ever starts out great right out the gate. What I love the most about the app that it puts its community first, and it listens to its audience for lack of better terminology. Granted it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of TikTok but then again it’s not trying to be TikTok. It’s gonna be Neptune. What has been released to the public is what is polished by the team and the beta testers. What I would like to see is when we go to our personal profile, we should be able to scroll through all of our videos without having to back out and slide into the next video, I’m sure that’s in the works. I’ve been a beta tester for this app since they launched the Beta I was one of the first 500 to be able to test it and I’ve seen it grow immensely There are some features that a lot of people are still waiting for obviously live but live is something that isn’t cheap to develop and this project is self funded so I honestly believe that we need to give the developers a break and not be so harsh and critical. I’m still a beta tester and I’m running the app on iOS 26 on an iPad eighth GEN and it’s running pretty smooth so keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to seeing what else will be released in the future. To the public trust me when I say Neptune‘s just getting started, let them cook. The keys thing is confusing, yes, but unfortunately that’s the only way the team has found to keep their costs as low as possible. And no, you don’t have to pay $80 for a key (I believe it’s $8 for a patreon sub, or buy merch like a $3 sticker, either way it’s OPTIONAL). Anywho, as a beta tester, I see great potential with this app!
