There needs to be something to fix when there is a stand still. Currently the game continues to cycle through no move available and shifting one card. This happens whether the game has a move or not. It's rather aggravating.

The game is really fun but if you pause the game and come back to it later the small box with the choice to resume play won't go away so you have to end the game or play without seeing everything!  Please fix this bug!  I would give it 4-5 stars when fixed.

If I put the game in the background, then try to play again, the continue game dialog can not be dismissed.  This is one of my favorites on the iPhone, but it disappoints on the iPad

The nerts game is incredibly addictive and fun to play.  My only issue with this application is the inability to pause the game.  If I choose to pause the game and resume it before pulling up another app or my iPad turning off it works fine.  However if I choose to pause the game and resume it at a later time the game menu showing my options to resume, start a new, or end game will not leave the screen.  The menu only responds to a new game button therefore erasing the game I had started.  This makes this paid app pointless unless you have time to just sit and play through a whole set.

I am coming from the iPhone version.  To be honest, no Bluetooth multiplayer was a huge let down.  That was the funniest part of the game.

Coming from the iPhone version however, you do NOT have to pay for the extra difficultly levels.  With the iPad version all the difficulties levels and opponents are included.

It would be nice to if the graphics were updated to include the "New" iPad also.

It also does not rotate to landscape mode.  It can only stay in portrait.

So I give the application 3 stars.  It does Nertz.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Up the graphics and add multiplayer for more stars :)

Nerts is easily one of my most favorite card games. When I discovered this app I was thrilled. 

However, this app is far from perfect.

When the game is paused and the screen shut-off, the pause menu doesn't go away when you press resume. Now, the pause menu doesn't go away for me, even when I start a new game. It is also very easy for the computer to get you caught in a loop of "Stuck." yes, I'm aware this happens in a real game, but it happens so often in this app, you'll eventually come across this bug if you purchase this app.

If you are considering purchasing this app, wait until they fix the bugs.

I should've read the reviews before upgrading. It's not worth the money to lose sound (and not even have sound options) when the free version seems to work better. Upgrading so you can resume a paused game doesn't work either. You have to completely close the app and delete it from your recently used apps before you can play it again, and it starts a new game for you anyway.

HORRIBLE!

Don't waste your money until they fix the bugs...

Great game, plays very true to actual gameplay... One small fix I would reccommend: put the card value and suit in the opposite corner as well, facing the opposite direction, much like a real card. During a fast paced game like this, it would be helpful!

I love nerts! Fun fast moving game. The game designers made a great game with options on how many players can play, how many points to play to, etc however I do have glitch on my iPad version that I'm hoping will be fixed soon. If I pause and come back minutes later, my game is still there but the box that displays that it's paused will not go away. Thus I am forced to close my current game and start a new one. Great game. Try it! I think you'll love it :)

I purchased this app for my mom, wholoves nerts. It is THE BEST nerts game out there, and I can't say enough good things about it. I have had my fair share of playing, and find nerts really challenging. Great job developers!!!

Am I addicted to it? You BET!

Would I recommend it? .... guess...

Now the good stuff: 
Finally someone that has brought one of the best table games to the digital platform!
Guess what!  I have the same emotions playing this game as when I play the real one.

I am impressed of how much realistic it is.  Sometime when you play the table nertz you have a couple minutes where nobody can make a move.  It builds the anxiety of hurrying through and compete to see who is the next one to break the "freeze" and unleash the speed of the game.
I didn't think you could actually replicate that emotion on a digital game.  You dazzled me!

I too had the problem with pausing and restarting a game. One other issue is how many times the "get unstuck" feature will move a card with no results before the game ends. I have apparently gotten stuck in an endless loop and cannot finish the game. Otherwise I love this game. Thanks!

I love Nerts.

Doesn't seem like the iPad version of this app has the sound that it does on the free iPhone version. I liked that feature! A silent game is hard to play ...

I also have the problem with resuming games.

My family has played Nerts for the past 40 years and I always thought we were alone or made it up. It's great to know that there are others out there. I love the app, and it's very similar in game play to real live play. I have some suggestions to consider for future upgrades:

1) Add sounds. Part of the fun of the real game is the frenetic yelling and screaming that takes place as the tensions rise, like when you narrowly miss placing a card. The trash-talk is great, and the sound of the cards hitting the table would be a fun addition. It would be sweet to have the option to turn up and scale the amount of sound effects you hear.
2) Game Center support. I bought the iPhone version too so that I could play my kids on other iPhones, but that's only through Bluetooth. It would be awesome to have live tournaments with extended family in other states.
3) Running totals for long tournaments. I'd like a way to keep a record of wins/losses and who was playing.
4) On the iPhone when playing someone else via bluetooth there can only be one computer apparently. I'd like to be able to still choose the number of players by adding more computer players.
5) Player names. If there are live players, it would be nice to see their names in the corners so you know if they are the one tossing in a card.
6) Horizontal Orientation. This would be especially nice on the iPad please.
