I wanted to organize my freezer and pantry but if I can’t add a number of items it is useless. Sad that it didn’t work. **Developer response:** The number of items is tracked in the Quantity field of the item when adding or modifying an item. Please note that Quantity is optional for items, and if you did not specify a quantity in the Add Item screen, you will not be shown any quantity. However, for such an item if you head to the Modify Item screen, you can then associate a quantity with the item. ### 2/5 — Hey, we are in a roll! *2024-06-13* Downloaded the app and scanned my first item. At the current rate I should be finished scanning everything on my desk by the end of 2025. This app is sluggish and often enters the incorrect item. **Developer response:** Hello, Sorry to hear about your experience. I needed to manually enter ALL the other information. This is way too much work. That way we can make sure it is a UPC/EAN. ### 4/5 — Eigentlich sehr gut, es fehlt aber Wichtiges *2019-04-15* Die App ist einfach und übersichtlich zu bedienen, man kann eigene Kategorien, Unterkategorien, Orte etc. definieren. Fotos kann man dazu machen. Die Erfassung berücksichtigt den Zweck gut. Es fehlen: - iCloud oder Dropbox (oder weitere) Backup. Es geht nur manuelle Sicherung oder Export. (Update: Laut Entwickler gibt es das in der Vollversion als In-App-Kauf) - Deutsche Sonderzeichen und das Euro-Zeichen beim Export nach csv (das ist letztendlich ein No-Go, wenn man die Daten in Excel weiterverwenden oder ein Restore machen will. (Update: Geht wohl doch, wenn man mit UTF8 importiert) Mit den zwei Punkten oben würde ich 5 Sterne geben. (Update: Also gebe ich nun 4 Sterne, statt zuvor 2). - Möglichkeit, PDFs (Rechnung/ Quittung) anzuhängen an die Artikel. Es würde sich empfehlen, die App auch in einer Cloud-Version anzubieten für Zugriff und Eingabe von überall. Wobei es schon sehr viele Daten sind, wenn man tatsächlich sein gesamtes materielles Vermögen erfasst. Pertaining to special characters such as the euro symbols and characters with umlaut and such, please note that Nest Egg CSV exports are UTF-8 encoded, so when importing the data into Excel, you will need to choose the right encoding. Please write to support if you need this resolved. Note also that backups can be uploaded to iCloud or Dropbox (in-app purchase in full version) by heading to the Shared Files area. I use it myself everyday and recommended to my friends. But after the last update the app crashes all the time: when adding new item, when checking location of existing items, when trying to edit info for items, etc. It’s impossible to use the app (latest iOS 12.1.2). Pas de problème de synchronisation sur la version payante, mais elle ne se fait pas automatiquement. Il faut faire une sauvegarde sur un appareil, puis l’envoyer sur le cloud, puis récupérer cette sauvegarde sur l’autre appareil et ensuite faire une restauration.... un peu complexe et peu pratique :( Et surprise, il faut faire un achat inapp pour pouvoir utiliser Dropbox au lieu du cloud d’Apple. Manque toujours la possibilité de mettre des fichiers en pdf pour la garantie ou facture... dommage. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Restore is not available in the Lite version but is available after upgrade. Warranty expiration tracks your item warranty (for example your dishwasher may have 5 years warranty) whereas item expiration tracks perishable goods or drugs (for example multivitamin tablets may have an expiration date). ### 4/5 — Schon super, aber... *2018-01-17* leider fehlt mir ganz dringend die Möglichkeit Dokumente anzuhängen. Gerade wenn man online was kauft, erhält man die Rechnung als pdf. Diese möchte ich auch als PDF anhängen können. Bitte schafft dafür eine Möglichkeit, denn diese als Bild anzuhängen empfinde ich als nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Schön wäre auch ein Feld, wo ich den Eigentümer des Inventars definieren kann. Ansonsten finde ich die App 👍. Leider nutzt es nicht die Apple-iCloud (Datenaustausch zwischen iPhone und iPad nur mit Backup/Restore). ### 2/5 — Was ready to go to full until... *2015-02-22* ...most of the items I was scanning did not get a full description. Sure, the barcode was recognized, but the program did not describe neither name nor price of the product. Additionally, these were not small-ticket items, but rather my Sony Bravia and my MacBook. Bring the price down, and I will gladly pay for the full version, as I am sure most others will too. There is nothing misleading about that. Generally speaking, if you are adding items via barcodes and expecting automatic lookup to work, the barcodes have to be UPC/EAN. For other data such as serial numbers or URL Quick Response (QR) codes, there are quite a few possibilities in terms of barcode morphology. Supposedly the free version allows a user to input a few items as a trial...which would have been wonderful to have been able to give the app a test drive. However, when I attempted to add my first item ...a message came up saying I had reached my limit and needed to purchase the full version in order to continue. Tried half a dozen cupboard staples and it didn’t recognise any. It limits the number of items you can add and a few other functions." ### 1/5 — NestEgg - not working *2016-02-22* NestEgg Seems to be the app I was looking for - but it stopped working, one cannot report a problem because the link is dead and so is the website. I'm on iOS 8 and I don't think this app will work on that version. They are entirely optional and left up to you. ### 5/5 — Actually grabs correct info from barcode! *2020-06-25* I downloaded several similar APPs to see which one I prefer. Out of all the ones I was able to try without registering, this was the only one that scanned the barcode, filled in the correct info (full name and price) and attached an actual image of the product! I tested it using a box of Pop-tarts. Some other APPs didn't fill in any info while one filled in ”toaster pastries.” The whole point of scanning barcodes is because I'm lazy, and I don't want to input an entire bag of groceries! (Seriously, who has time for that?) This APP actually gets the job done. The UI is also very nice with proper iPad UI. Maybe I'm just easy, but I was sold and paid for the upgraded version. **Developer response:** Thank you Amelia for the review!
