ONE CALENDAR EVERYONE CAN ACTUALLY SEE
Bring in your Google and Outlook calendars, or subscribe to any iCloud, school, or sports iCal feed, and see the whole family's week in one place. Connect as many Google and Microsoft accounts as your household has, so a personal Gmail and a work account both follow at once, each with its own calendars to tick and its own disconnect. Color-coded by person, gentle reminders, and a "who's doing what" view that ends the 5 pm surprises. Repeats match real life too, whether that's every other week, every few months, or the first Friday of the month.

CHORES KIDS CHECK OFF THEMSELVES
Kid-friendly chore lists with streaks, badges, and a family leaderboard. Chores can rotate automatically between people, so nobody has to keep track of whose turn it is. Kids get free kid-mode seats, no email or account required, with kid-safe settings built in.

This app is so close to being awesome but it’s still so buggy. Sometimes it zooms in for no reason and you can’t zoom back out. You have to just clear out of the app completely. And I want to be able to just add meals without Robin suggestions but there’s no option for that. 
Again? The idea is there and I LOVE that this is all offered for free, it’s just got a couple kinks to work out still. I’m here for it tho. ✌️

**Developer response:** Following up because a lot has shipped since your review. The zoom trap is long gone, and the "Type it yourself" box has been on the Meals page since August, so you can plan meals with no suggestions at all.

Since then the app has also picked up event alarms, home maintenance tracking for things like the HVAC filter and the car, and a much smarter Robin who now understands plain words like jobs, meds, and groceries, and can edit chores and events for you instead of just adding them.

You said NestBoard was almost there. If it has closed the gap, I would love to hear how it is working for your family now. And if anything still feels off, the feedback button in the app reaches me directly.

### 1.0.160 — 2026-09-05

Setting up NestBoard on a phone fits the screen now. The step list matches the path you chose, and a reload part-way through reopens where you left off.

Meals and Shopping can be switched off, the same way as Pantry. Untick them under Settings, then Modules, or leave meal planning unticked during setup, and they leave your menus and dashboard. Nothing is deleted. It is all waiting when you turn them back on.

The ready-made board asks who is in your family before it builds, and hands the starter chores to those people instead of all landing on you.

Inviting the other adult is lighter. Every invite has a Share button that puts the join link into your phone's share sheet with a short message already written.

Signing up with Google or Apple takes you straight into setup. The suggestion to add a password waits for you on the dashboard and in Settings, then Account.

The sign-in form cannot get stuck any more. A request that does not come back gives up after fifteen seconds and hands the button back to you.

Ask Robin what your calendar shows and she answers about the calendar view, not about syncing with Google.

Also: setup now asks once whether you want notifications, and password fields tell you the full rule before you type.

### 1.0.159 — 2026-09-05

Google has verified NestBoard, so connecting a calendar no longer shows the screen warning that we are an unverified app. Being straight about this: that screen was frightening, it turned up at the exact moment you were deciding whether to trust us with your calendar, and for months the honest answer was "choose Advanced and continue anyway". You do not have to do that any more. Nothing about the permission changed. It is still limited to the one calendar NestBoard creates, and it still cannot read the calendars you made yourself. Microsoft runs its own separate review and we are not through it yet, so the Outlook screen may still say unverified.

Connecting Google or Outlook now works on an iPhone or iPad browser. It did nothing at all before. You tapped Connect, no window opened, and nothing told you why. Safari only lets a new window open in the same instant you tap, and we were asking a moment too late. This one is entirely our fault and it had been that way for a while.

After you connect, "Return to NestBoard" returns you to NestBoard. It used to leave you sitting in a browser on our website, on top of the app you started from, which is a strange place to land after something worked. It now closes and puts you back where you were.

The photo slideshow on an idle screen works inside the app again. It had been showing nothing at all, which rather defeats the point of a tablet on a kitchen wall.

We send you a good deal less email. Being straight about this: a family that signed up last week got about fifteen emails from us in seven days. Every one was individually reasonable, and the total was not. There is now one shared limit across all of it, at most five in a week and two in a day, and things like a daily briefing give way to it. Nothing that matters is affected. A verification email, a password reset, a receipt, a warning that a trial is ending, or a new-device alert always arrives.

The first tap of "Continue with Apple" works on an iPhone browser too. Before, the first tap did nothing and said nothing, and you had to tap again without being told to. Same cause as the calendar one, and it had been that way since June.

Robin tells you what actually happened, not what she asked for. A family asked her to move a weekly class to Wednesdays and she twice replied that she had moved it, naming a date that was not even the right weekday. The class had not moved. She was reading the answer back off her own request instead of off the calendar. She reads it off the calendar now, she moves the whole repeating pattern rather than a single date, and if a request fails she will not quietly drop part of what you asked for to make it succeed.

Monthly repeats like "the second Sunday" land on the right week. Anything already in your calendar keeps the dates it has, so nothing moves under you.

If you are the only person on your board, NestBoard says so and offers to invite someone, once, in the welcome cards. It stops asking after three looks. The person you invite gets one reminder, a day later, if they have not joined, and it goes to them rather than to you.

Chores set to "as needed" count the days since you last did them on your own calendar instead of counting in hours. The activity feed groups days by your household clock rather than the clock on the device in your hand.

Children can no longer change a health profile, disconnect a calendar, or remove other people's devices. Our own children's privacy page said that was already enforced on our servers, and for a handful of things it was not. Reading is unchanged, so a sitter or an older child can still check an allergy.

Feedback you send us no longer passes through Discord. That notification is an anonymous ping and a link now, and we read what you wrote in our own admin.

A few things that refused to save now save: an emergency contact with the relationship left blank, and a pantry item keeping the expiry dates you set per unit.

### 1.0.158 — 2026-09-04

You can now connect more than one Google account, and more than one Microsoft account, to the same household. A personal Gmail and a work Google account, or a personal Outlook alongside a school one, all follow at once. Go to Settings, then Calendar Sync. Once the first account is connected the button reads Add account.

Each account gets its own row on the card, named with the address it belongs to. It has its own list of calendars to tick, its own Sync now, its own Reconnect, and its own Disconnect. Disconnect now removes one account and only its events. Nothing changes for a household with one account per provider.

If you signed up with Google or Apple, the forgot-password screen now sends you to the right sign-in button instead of a reset email that never comes. There was never a password on those accounts, so there was never anything to reset, but the screen said "Reset link sent" anyway and left you waiting on an inbox that stayed empty.

Adding a photo to a family member works again on iPhone and iPad, and tells you if a photo cannot be read. Being straight about this: tapping Upload photo did absolutely nothing inside the app. No photo list, no message, nothing saved. It opens your photos now, and if the photo will not open, which happens with some of the newer iPhone photo formats, it says so and asks you to try another one.

The Allergies and Conditions boxes on the Medical page now take what you type. Being straight about this: they did not. Press P and the box showed ["P"], and every key after that made it worse. The boxes were unusable, for everybody, and we are sorry. They hold plain text now. Anything you had already saved is unchanged.

The notifications reminder now steps back after a few looks instead of appearing every time. One person saw it 45 times in a week. It now shows up to three times on a screen before going quiet for two weeks, and "Not now" keeps it away for a month.

Streak bonuses now pay once a day, on the first chore, and the app shows the bonus before you confirm. The bonus used to be added to every chore you finished while on a streak, and nothing on screen said so, which is how a 5-point chore could land as 20 points with no explanation. You can also now choose whether streak bonuses turn into pocket money, in Settings under Allowance & Kid Money.

Marking a chore done now says who it is for and what they earn, and gives you a few seconds to undo it.

Tap any dashboard card to open that part of NestBoard. The chores card opens Chores, the meals card opens Meals, and a row in Today at a Glance opens the calendar, chores or medications.

Names that start with an emoji now save correctly on the Family page. A name like "Caitlin" with a flower in front of it used to fail every save, with no useful message.

Robin stops receiving half of what you typed. Pressing send while the keyboard was still finishing a word posted only the words before it. The daily check-in and the message board had the same problem and are fixed with it.

Pick again on Robin's picks deals a genuinely new hand instead of the same first two every time.

A health profile saves with any of its boxes left empty, and so do maintenance tasks, pet tasks and pocket money adjustments with the notes left blank. Every one of those boxes was always meant to be optional.

### 1.0.156 — 2026-08-31

This update covers two releases, so there is a bit more here than usual.

Connecting a second Google or Outlook account no longer replaces the one you already had. Being straight about this: it used to, without a word. Signing in with a work account when your personal one was already connected meant the second quietly took over and the first calendar stopped updating. NestBoard now recognises a different account, keeps the connection you had, and tells you which one that is.

The dashboard stops hiding people in a large household. The row of days showed a coloured dot per person capped at three, which left most days silently incomplete. It now says "+7" rather than pretending three is the whole story, and a birthday is never the thing hidden behind the plus. There is also a new option under Settings, then Display, to show today and tomorrow with times and names instead of seven days of colour.

The notice celebrating your first badge stops coming back every time you open the app. It showed once and then kept showing, with no way to make it stop, which is the opposite of a celebration.

A chore set to a number of times a week now counts once a day. Set something to three times a week and it stays available on whatever days suit you, but once it is ticked off it reads "Done today", keeps its weekly progress, and comes back tomorrow. Before this you could clear a whole week by tapping the same row three times in one afternoon.

Turning chore points into pocket money now pays children only, which is what the setting always said it did. Adults still earn points and keep their place on the leaderboard, they just do not build up an allowance.

Robin can now be switched off completely, not just hidden. Settings, then Modules. Past conversations stay where they are if you turn her back on.

Family tablets have stopped listening for "Hi Robin" for the moment. We switched it off ourselves while we get it working properly, rather than leave a half-working microphone in the room. Robin is unaffected and still answers whenever you tap her.

### 1.0.154 — 2026-08-27

What's fixed in this update:

A connected calendar could stop importing partway through without telling you. If an event was deleted while that calendar was syncing, the rest of the update never arrived, and it looked like nothing was wrong. It now carries on, and brings the event back if the calendar still lists it.

Reset on a routine you have not started today no longer shows an error. It clears the list, and tapping it twice is fine.

On a wall tablet, saying "Hi Robin" and then a request could arrive as several half sentences, with the same item added more than once. She now waits for you to finish the sentence and acts on it once.
