### 2/5 — Numerous Technical Issues

*2025-08-20, version 3.3.6*

All searches result in an error saying the response could not be parsed, and to contact support. Attempting to contact support, but have received no reply. I’ll update if this gets fixed.

Translation is fantastic…you just need another app or two to actually use it for study since this one is breaking down.

### 4/5 — I love the NET but the app could use some minor tweaks/improvements

*2024-12-26, version 3.3.6*

The NET Bible has become a valuable resource for me in my study of The Word of God—The notes are a tremendous aid! The application, however, I found has just has two pieces of minor improvements that I think could be made:

First, when you try to access a study note at the foremost top of the screen/page, sometimes bits the note will be out of view and offscreen. I have to select the verse at a different starting position, to get the verse to be lower down on the screen, so I am able to view the study note in its entirety.

Second, it would be nice if the app had a “continuous scroll” feature to change to in the settings. By default, in order to proceed on to the next bit of scripture, you have to “turn the page” like a book.

Again, the suggestions are minor and not a dealbreaker for me to use the app!

Thank you to everyone who worked on this app to make this content completely free and for the NET translation! It is a major gift!

### 3/5 — One of the best

*2024-07-03, version 3.3.6*

One of my favorite translations and study Bible apps, but the option to scroll rather than swipe would be nice. What a great resource, regardless!
Search function hasn’t been working at all for days. Was one of the best searches. Still great notes, but some bug fixes would be nice.

### 2/5 — Where are the 58,000+ notes?

*2024-04-28, version 3.3.6*

How does one find and access them?

### 4/5 — Beautiful app but is it still developed?

*2024-04-13, version 3.3.6*

Love the NET translation and this beautiful app! (when Lumina first came out, it was ahead of its time). But the app hasn’t been updated in 3 years and it’s missing original language tools and other features of the desktop version. Would love to see this app get the same love and treatment as other Bible tools. I’d even support with a small subscription to support development so it can remain free for most users. Thomas Nelson, if you read these , you got something special with this app. Please invest in it.

### 3/5 — Where is the audio?!

*2023-04-20, version 3.3.6*

I usually use the NET website, my Thinline NET Bible, or the you version app for my reading. I downloaded the app believing it would be basically the same as the website, but no dice. No audio options! Bummer as I really love to read & listen and go back and forth between the two throughout my days. NET team, thank you for the best Bible translation I’ve come across in 28 years as a believer, BUT…y’all need to get into the audio game! Perhaps add the audio to this app, or at least the dwell or youversion apps?! Pretty please!!

### 4/5 — One suggestion

*2022-12-15, version 3.3.6*

Great app and nice layout to read the NET Bible on the iPad in landscape mode.

One suggestion: Please make the translation and study notes available to view in a ‘split-screen’ view and sync alongside of the Bible text for the iPad and/or iPhone.

Please and thank you!

Soli Deo Gloria!

### 3/5 — Android

*2022-10-11, version 3.3.6*

I love this app n I use multiple devices . Will this app version ever be available on Android????

### 3/5 — Needs audio

*2022-09-10, version 3.3.6*

I like this translation. But please release the audio with it also!

### 4/5 — Great translation; need more functionality

*2022-05-29, version 3.3.6*

Love the NET and the incredible notes. I use this app often.

I would however love to see a feature that allows me to scroll through the passages rather than just turn the page. Most reading UI’s at this point are scroll and so every time I use this app I find myself really wishing the feature was available.

### 3/5 — Copy and paste

*2022-03-29, version 3.3.6*

How do I copy and paste the notes for my personal studies as I can do in other Bible apps that I have. Other than that it’s a great app and I really appreciate it.

### 3/5 — Few format options

*2022-03-18, version 3.3.6*

Should be able to have an entire chapter on a page, but the app presents the Word as if in a book, meaning 5:1&2 may be at the bottom of a “page”, and you have to swipe left to turn for continuation. Since ALL other apps use up/down it’s an unpleasant change.

### 4/5 — Dark mode toggle

*2022-01-26, version 3.3.6*

It would be great to have a toggle for light mode / dark mode, so that it doesn’t always follow the system settings.

### 4/5 — My note stored in the

*2021-02-24, version 3.3.3*

I need to recover my note on studies I made in Net Bible. Please help me, now that you have cancelled the service.

### 3/5 — Notes

*2020-09-18, version 3.2.2*

Looking for the 58,000 translator notes.
Where would I click?

### 3/5 — Love the version

*2020-08-04, version 3.2.2*

Love the version. Love the app and the features but it quit letting me select a book of the Bible. It would only let me select the current book I was in and a chapter of that book. Please fix this as it is my favorite to use out of about 10 different Bible apps that I have. This inability to select a book keeps me from using it all together and I have to choose a different app.
I rebooted and that didn’t help so I deleted the app and reinstalled. I didn’t want to have to do that because I had multiple notes and highlights that were very important to me as I am an avid student of the Bible.

### 2/5 — No night mode for latest iOS update

*2020-08-02, version 3.2.2*

There once was a night mode but it no longer exists. This is not progress.

### 2/5 — NLT/The Message/Net Bible

*2020-03-19, version 3.2.2*

Too much of a paraphrase for me. Would be helpful if the Greek was visible like on the website.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Navigation

*2025-03-15, version 3.3.6*

Unfortunately this app has become unusable. The navigation button is so high up in the left corner that it cannot be activated any longer.

### 1/5 — Unable to search with iPhone pro max 15

*2025-01-14, version 3.3.6*

I have loved this app and would read it first to see the reasons why translators used the words they did. But when I got my new iPhone, the search bar at the top of the screen was now under the front camera and I was no longer able to select passages of Scripture. I am SO disappointed. Please fix this!

### 1/5 — Nearly unusable on 15 plus

*2024-08-26, version 3.3.6*

This app worked well on my 8 Plus but on my new 15 plus it uses the top line of the screen to choose the menu or the book, chapter and verse, or search or font. This is a serious issue as the phone uses that area as well. You can’t open the menu at all. If you continually tap the book, chapter verse on the right side of the oval (as the black oval blocks the words) sometimes the book, chapter, verse comes up, same with font, search (though you can see these) only once in awhile. Very sad as I liked this app a lot.

### 1/5 — Would like to use but can’t

*2024-01-11, version 3.3.6*

I am familiar with the NET Bible and enjoy referencing the notes, but I have repeatedly downloaded the NET Bible app, and am unable to use it. Nothing that I tap on allows me to select books of the Bible. I am left with only being able to turn page by page. The the app extends all the way to the top of the phone screen so that the time and connection bars and battery information overlaps the top of the app.

### 1/5 — Unable to login, change password or create an account

*2020-03-19, version 3.2.2*

Use to use this a lot but since name change I cannot login, change password or create a new account. So now I don’t use it since I can’t sync anything.

### 1/5 — No way to contact support! App is now broken!

*2019-11-28, version 3.2.1*

Attempts to use "seatch" close the screen and leave the app open in background. A delete app and re-install does not help.

### 1/5 — Nothing there

*2019-06-05, version 3.1.3*

The Bible doesn’t open to content.

### 1/5 — Can’t find passages

*2018-11-13, version 3.1.2*

Worked perfectly until I upgraded to iPhone Xr. The cutout at the top of the screen prevents me from selecting passages.

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2018-11-04, version 3.1.2*

Why take the highlighter, copy, note and bookmark down. It is not convenient when reading and you wish to highlight a scripture verse, you have to go down to the base of the app. Please retract to the former.

### 1/5 — Would like to use it, but now it comes up blank

*2018-09-06, version 3.0*

I tried to use the app after upgrade, but now it is just blank.
It use to be linked to another app but now, when I try to get help it goes to bible.org and doesn’t how the other books.
How can I get help?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2026-01-23, version 3.3.6*

This app recreates the print version of this bible. It is a clean, easy to use interface. It does not have features for the sake of features. It provides just what I need and want to know … for example was the fourth horse pale? Or pale greenish like some one who is sick might appear?

Having the full translation notes is a must. I have the print copy of this bible translated, and while it is good for home it is bulky. This app is great because it easily goes anywhere I go.

### 5/5 — For Thinking Christian

*2025-10-08, version 3.3.6*

Absolutely a great app for any Christian seeking to deepen their understanding of the Scriptures. I’ve had the NET print Bible for a couple of years and recently stumbled across this app. It’s easy to use and convenient for when I don’t have my print Bible with me. The notes allow for the understanding behind the translation and show great effort in arriving at the words used in the verses. I personally believe that all Christians should seek to take their Bible study up a notch to this level. This app allows for just that.

### 5/5 — Best Bible Search

*2025-08-07, version 3.3.6*

When searching for a verse you can’t quite remember, the fuzzy search ability in the “relevance” search option in the Sort setting produces the best top results of any Bible app available in my opinion. Most, if not all, other apps I’ve tried are stuck on an exact match setting and produce a lot of irrelevant results. Not only is the NET Bible and its notes my go to translation but this app has my favorite search capabilities. Thanks!

### 5/5 — The best online version of the NET Bible translation!

*2023-08-13, version 3.3.6*

Without a doubt, this bible is the most complete online version of the NET bible translation . And , here’s why.
After visiting the NET official website, you will notice that the complete bible ,with notes, is too large of a file for a Kindle. And, due to the extensive nature of the information in the Bible, it is easy to see why.
If you see an online review of the printed NET Study Bible with all the notes,it’s packed. And , they are formatted to view on each page. The text itself is often smaller than the notes on a page. They mimicked that well by making the notes selectable in the background, so to speak. They open up pop up’s that often scroll through its own set of paragraphs and explanations. Very detailed, but might be too busy for some.
I’m not a bible scholar , but appreciate that all the printed bible content is right there. And, as notes change by the translation teams, my guess is they will update with their own discussion as to why they were modified. And, it’s free to download and read, and easy to navigate. My suggestion is give it a try!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-02-20, version 3.3.2*

I have the full notes printed edition of this bible but, I find myself using the app more as my reading companion alongside the thin line edition.

If I would make one tiny suggestion; can you make the note “call-out” a little bit wider? I think that for the longer notes, it will make reading them a bit easier.

### 5/5 — Perfectly simple Bible app

*2021-02-09, version 3.3.1*

This Bible app is my favorite because it does exactly what I need and does it very well. It is fast, easy to navigate, and provides excellent historical context. I love being able to turn pages rather than scroll down because it is so much easier than scrolling exactly 1 full page.

### 5/5 — Mini update v3.3.1

*2021-01-20, version 3.3.1*

Thank you for updating for my new iPhone 12 mini. Looks great

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2020-05-30, version 3.2.2*

This app works so well that it has now become my “go to”, first choice, bible app.
It’s quick and accurate, with wonderful notes that help clear up any questions I have about the verse in question.
I thoroughly recommend it with no reservations.

### 5/5 — This is a fantastic app for intense bible study!

*2020-01-25, version 3.2.2*

There are many things to love about this app. All the text notes are absolutely awesome, but one of my favorite features of the app is the page turning effect. It feels like I’m turning the page on a physical bible. I LOVE that feature! I’m a person who uses multiple different translations for deeper study. It’s awesome to add this to my ebook library. Highly Recommended!

P.S. - I would love a “words of Christ in red” feature on a future update of the app. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-07-18, version 3.1.3*

It’s great to have the NET translation with Notes on my phone. The app is great, especially when one considers that it is free, after all.

As others have mentioned, the one drawback is the handling of the notes. Since the extensive notes are one of the main draws of the NET, it would be better if there was a way to have the notes accessible in a better way than the pop-up form, like a separate area of the screen or something. But again. Free app, and everything else is elegant and intuitive.
