### 3/5 — Key issues to a good premise

Other reviews have mentioned the lack of effort to make this game playable as a non pay-to-play game. I appreciate that netflix games never ask for more money in game, that’s why I play them. But other similar games, like Cats & Soup, have done a much better job of making all the currencies attainable in the Netflix version. 

Separately, this game frequently fails to save actions that were taken shortly before closing the app. When a daily streak of clicking the calendar is required to get any appreciable number of flutter bucks, the failure to record that click is pretty de-motivating. Now the user is back to earning a few per daily click instead of 20, which is the max, as far as I know.

I spend $30 a month for Netflix. What I’m noticing in regards to the games offered is that you can only get so far before the updates stop and you are stuck. It’s not just this game but many others. When you have people paying for subscriptions to the service you just can’t stop when you feel like it. The non Netflix versions get updates. Not understanding why Netflix does this to its subscribers. Fix it. My flutter butterflies basically ends after this event. Not a happy camper right now. The games are the only reason I continue to pay a ridiculous amount of money but if Netflix can’t update its games and fix things I’m about to bounce

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii sooooooo I was thinking…. Ohhhh this is an amazing game but it would be better if it had a reset  button and also the pollen things to unlock new areas are waaaaaaay to big and also the news page is still stuck on 25 of April 2022 which posting this on 28 of April 2025 was almost 3 YEARS AGO!!!! Please fix that and add my ideas into the game. Thanks!

Very beautiful game to play to collect all the butterflies my only complaint is that it takes too much pollen for some to level up and that takes too much time.

I love this game. I really do. But after playing the Runaway version for years, trying to play this version is an exercise in frustration and disappointment. You do not allow an appropriate amount of opportunities to get Flutterbucks. You constantly offer visiting butterflies available, for 1 hour, that consistently cost more flutterbucks that are in the account. In the Flutter version, I had the opportunity to decide if I wanted to buy some in order to get the butterfly, but you have failed to provide an alternative other than trying to spin a wheel that will only give you 15 flutterbucks (and 25 from the glowbug one a day- it is rarely available when I need it as there is only 1hr to get the butterfly)
The garden events are almost impossible unless you are able to sit with your phone and log in every two hours. I do not know many people who can dedicate that kind of time to a game. 

What used to be a nice, relaxing game with pretty butterflies has been turned into an aggravation. 

Please consider adding more opportunities to get flutterbucks.

So firstly i love this game i originally had the normal flutter butterfly game and well it was alright it just wasnt my thing none of my family would join me because it was to much work so i left the game. And now with this Netflix game my family joined me! And they love it!!! 

The only issue i have is with the butterfly money its great and all but its hard to get money in the game. you can do quests and stuff but you need the butterfly money for almost everything.
 im not the only one who needs more money almost all reviews say the same thing. I know things wont change but i thought i should leave a review :)

I wish the developers would improve this game because it's a brilliant concept and so aesthetically appealing. But as a game for relaxation, I would either specify or improve some of its frustrating elements. For example I've lost two butterflies already on missions. No mention of their loss, it just acts like a butterfly was never sent, and that beautiful addition is even removed from the record in your journal! As already mentioned the somewhat nagging beefly never provides anything better. There are just a few nagging issues that I am sure the developers can easily improve for a long awaited updated version.

It seems like I’ve fed my adult beefly a million times and it never gives me paradise flowers. At this rate I think the paradise set of butterflies is only for people who have the patience and consistency to play for years... With so little gameplay in general I think I will lose interest soon. I also would like to have a way of keeping track of who gifted me so I can gift them in return. It’s a beautiful game though.

This game is wonderful but there’s two things that make it a bit frustrating. My beefly is fully grown and giving me the exact same gifts as when it was a baby. There’s no “better” gifts if you feed it more & make it grow like it said it would, and i’ve probably only gotten one paradise flower from it.
 Also, i’ve been sending gifts to a couple friends back and forth every day for over a month now and i still have yet to get an amigo attraction flower from any. ):
This makes it hard to get any butterflies in both Paradise and Amigo set, and i’d really love to be able to collect the whole set if made possible.

My 5 year old and I each use our own profiles for our own butterfly forests. We like it. But please fix some of the typos. Like “dandylion” for the Mourning Cloak. But it’s correct for the Blue Hookwing. Do you think we don’t notice these things. And it glitches. My son sends me gifts but some times they never appear in my forest. But he gets credit for sending one. Another thing, it would be great if yes, there were more flutter bucks, but also great if there were new goals added with more rewards. I do not mind working for the flutter bucks so create some new rewards in the Goals section and let us work!

I love this game and have found myself very invested as it is relaxing and beautifully designed. I am struggling very much to maintain my interest as I am now about a month in and cannot progress without massive amounts of flutterbucks and no way to obtain them. I often spend hours on the game but still cannot earn enough flutterbucks to make a difference. I think the daily 25 needs to be closer to 200 to make the game enjoyable, or allow for conversion of honeydew.

I really like the concept. I am glad that Netflix is including it and its offerings. There are not enough happy games in the App Store. However, I am an adult and the game play moves too slowly for me. I have to wait 30 minutes for a larva, 15 min to feed a caterpillar, without any other game play besides feeding pollen. It is becoming boring and frustrating as I would like to continue game play, but need more interesting things to do. I would envision this app would be perfect for a kid who checks in on the app after periods of time, in which case this would be a 5 star review. I would like to see Netflix include more happy games.  In addition, I am confused about the snail and how it improves gameplay it is referenced in pop-ups every so often. I click on the bugs, and they seem to just want or give a single pollen. The developer may want to include an additional instruction about that. Keep up the good work.

I love the game. I wish I could get more flutter bucks. I’m almost done with the goals, but I have sooooo many new butterflies to collect. But I can’t, because I never have enough flutter bucks. 

Also, I notice I only get half of the honeydew that my butterflies produce. Say a butterfly is supposed to give me 100 honeydew, it will only give me 50. Why is that?

I’m probably going to stop playing soon because there’s just not enough opportunity to get more flutter bucks. I would even purchase them if I could.  Get that this version is free though and I’m really glad for that. But I’m getting bored.

I love butterflies and discovering new species of butterflies. Unfortunately the game is very slow paced and not that fun. I got through about 5 butterflies (only 2 species the rest were repeats you merged) and got bored and uninstalled.

There is a weird glitch that closes the app after 1 or 2 minutes and then you have to sign back into Netflix to play so I can’t even progress in the game but hopefully you guys can fix it because it looks interesting

I played this game for a only over a week and then pressed on the notification it gave me that said my butterfly was ready to hatch. Once it loaded all memory had been lost. So sad as I was really enjoying it and had collected nearly 20 different butterflies.

I have a disability and I find it difficult to tap on the butterflies bodies to get the yellow nectar drops as they are very small. Please also make the white speech bubble for the yellow nectar icon tappable to collect the nectar.

I’ve seen people say their data reseted, that hasn’t happened to me and i hope it never does. I downloaded this game about an hour ago and i cant stop playing, its so calming and so adorable and so fun. It’s perfect to relax to and the butterflies are beautiful!!!!

This game is gorgeous, and as someone who also played the original version but got bored of the repetitive ads and having to pay way too much money for added features, it’s really nice to have flutterbucks more available and be able to use these as currency for items that would usually cost real money. I’d never make a real-money purchase on a game so to be able to experience these features is amazing. Overall by having a Netflix version of this game, it’s made gameplay much more enjoyable and it’s easier to progress!

This game is very well thought out and presented, it’s very pretty and pleasing to play. 
I downloaded it for my granddaughter and she only gets to play it for 20 minutes a week to and back from swimming lessons and sometimes if I get to sit next to her in the car she likes showing me. She asked if I would play it a bit more to get her more butterflies 🦋 and so I did and that’s when I realised what an awesome and most beautiful game this is. I admit I got carried away at first and was hatching new species and feeding the frog 🐸 but have now just been collecting honey due and pollen  ans making eggs and storing them ready for when she can play again - shame I can’t have two copies on my phone. 
Thanks creators! Awesome job! 😊

I’m an adult with anxiety and this game really helps me calm down. The butterflies are detailed and beautiful and the caterpillars are so cute too. I would be so excited if you came out with more games like Flutter too. While I enjoy your other games, I am not a fan of pretending to pet dogs and cats or releasing bird/fish away. Flutter is perfect because you can collect, learn, and grow your sanctuary with minimal pointless tapping, and I’d love to do this with more types of fauna in different environments. Don’t hesitate to download it if you’re a nature lover! I have some suggestions for the developers below and hope to see improvements soon but either way I will keep playing because it brings me a lot of joy! Thanks for considering my feedback: 

1) The Netflix version doesn’t rely on ads or purchases which is nice but also limiting. The flutterbucks system needs to be modified for this version so that everything costs significantly less. The 25 bucks/day we are given is not enough to pay for “hurrying”, buying flowers, laying eggs, upgrading pollens, fertilizing the garden, etc. Everything is so expensive. It becomes really difficult to progress and manage my play time efficiently. If I didn’t absolutely love collecting the butterflies in the game, I probably would have lost interest by now. This game should be enjoyable for users who like to play for a longer time once a day too, not just people who can keep playing frequently throughout the day. 

2) Since you can’t watch ads, the snail can only be accessed every few hours, which is again limiting and only rewards players who can keep coming back to play throughout the day. To make this worth it, the rewards should be greater overall with more flutterbucks, special attraction flowers, and high amounts of pollen. They should be bundled together so you get a combo of all three each spin. And the rewards for your first spin of the day should be much better than later spins. 

3) Visually, though it’s beautiful, it’s quite distracting on a small phone screen. In Starlight it’s much easier to see everything because the darker background gives more contrast. I love the chaos of the butterflies flying around, but when there’s clouds of pollen, little bugs, gifts, flowers, dandelions, and petals, it becomes hard to notice things. Especially when attraction flowers pop up they are difficult to find and I often get confused by the decorative flowers. I would rather just only get frog treats because they are easier to spot. 

4) We should be able to give at least 10 free gifts a day, or one free gift/day to all of our friends. There’s no point in charging 2 flutterbucks for people to give each other a twig. It’s frustrating and de-incentivizes the social element of the game. 

5) Please give attraction flowers (or frog treats) more often with better flowers. It’s frustrating how infrequently they show up, and how often I keep getting Aztec and Common flowers when I have so many new sets of rarer butterflies left to collect. Missions should give better rewards too. It’s frustrating sending out a butterfly for 8 hours just to get a leaf. I have plenty of unused storage spots already. 

6) Please update the daily deals. The attraction flowers you can buy with flutterbucks are not even discounted at all. And you can only buy two with pollen every 24 hours and they’re usually just average flowers. The bargain beetle’s deals are also way too expensive and rarely worth it. This goes back to my first point in this review that everything needs to cost less flutterbucks because the amount we are given is simply not enough. 

7) It would be awesome if there was a way to apply “Not” to any 100% attraction flower. For example if I placed a 100% Aztec flower with “Not” applied to it, then it guarantees that I would get any region other than Aztec. It would be really useful to apply to size and Common flowers too.

I’ve played the original Flutter(butterflies) and Starlight(moths) and there were always tons of ads and lagging and the game shutting down. I am VERY impressed with what Netflix has done with Flutter and I am hoping they pick up Starlight as well. They offer so much more with their version of it. I almost don’t want to waste my time playing Starlight anymore because Netflix’s Flutter is so much better. Please Netflix take over Starlight, make it better!!!!
