So I said, "Hey, I think I'll give it a shot." Went to the App Store, and, voila, it's free! So one click and a fingerprint later, it's downloaded. I launch the game, and it's a black screen that says iPhone NetHack 2008 (or something along those lines). Nothing happens. Occasionally, I'd get it to a character creation screen, it seems, and then it'd freeze there. What's the issue? Why can't I play? I have an iPhone 6, why is this miniature game crashing on me? It was the best version of NetHack created for Apple. /JSI ### 5/5 — Great for local play, learned to love the UI *2018-05-11* My first ascension was obtained using this app. Nowadays I prefer playing online on a public server like NAO or hardfought. I wish developer could bolt his UI on top of telnet or SSH somehow. Current telnet nethack on a phone ‘works’ but isn’t playable, IMO.
