## What is NetKit?

Tap once. NetKit checks your device, your router, the internet, DNS, and a secure page, then says in plain words which one is broken. Every step opens the full tool behind it when you want to dig deeper.

Then there are fourteen more tools, for when you already know where to look.

One price. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, no account, no tracking.

TRIAGE

• Diagnose: the five-step check above, with a verdict you can act on. It names the broken step instead of handing you numbers to interpret.

REACHABILITY

• Ping: continuous ICMP echo with min/avg/max, jitter, and packet loss. Switches to a TCP connect when ICMP is blocked.
• Traceroute: the path to a host, hop by hop, with RTT and reverse DNS.
• Port Scanner: TCP connect scan with service names. Common ports, presets, or a range you pick.

NAMES AND REGISTRATION

• DNS Lookup: A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS, SOA against Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, or your own resolver. Real record types with real TTLs.
• Reverse DNS: PTR lookups for IPv4 and IPv6.
• Whois: who registered a domain and when it expires, or who owns an IP block. Straight from the registry, with a days-to-expiry countdown.

TLS AND WEB

• TLS Certificate: the full chain, validity dates, days until expiry, SANs, signature and key. Expired and self-signed certificates open too.
• HTTP Inspector: status, every response header, the redirect chain, TLS version, and where the time goes: DNS, connect, TLS, first byte, total.
• Public IP & Geo: your public address, ISP, ASN, and rough location.

YOUR OWN NETWORK

• LAN Discovery: sweep your subnet and browse Bonjour, with the model and maker of every device that broadcasts one.
• Wake-on-LAN: send a magic packet to a saved device.
• Throughput Test: a quick download, upload, and latency check.
• My Device: your interfaces, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, netmask, and default gateway.
• Subnet Calculator: IPv4 and IPv6. Network, broadcast, usable range, mask, wildcard, class, scope, and the binary. Split a block into subnets.

BUILT PROPERLY

DNS is a real client, so you get real record types and real TTLs instead of whatever the system resolver hands back. Certificates go through a hand-written X.509 parser, which is why expired and self-signed ones still open rather than erroring out. Ping and traceroute use the same unprivileged ICMP socket that ping itself uses. There are no third-party SDKs in the app and nothing phones home.

BUILT LIKE A TOOL

Save a host once and run it through any tool. Every run lands in History with a one-tap re-run, and History and saved hosts export as JSON or CSV. Copy any value or share a full console transcript. A Home Screen and Lock Screen widget keeps your public IP in sight and flags when it changes. Works in light and dark.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT iOS ALLOWS

iOS blocks Wi-Fi scanning (SSIDs, channels, signal strength) for every third-party app, and hides other devices' MAC addresses. That rules out the MAC-to-vendor lookup desktop scanners use. LAN Discovery names devices from what they broadcast over Bonjour instead. That limit is Apple's, not a missing feature, and the app says so plainly.

Privacy: no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, no servers of ours. Diagnostics run on your device. Your history and saved hosts never leave it.
