## What is NetScope?

"The internet is bad today" is almost never about your internet. It is usually one of four things, and NetScope tells you which one.

ONE SCORE, WITH REASONS
Tap once and NetScope runs the full check, then gives you a number out of 100 and a plain-English list of what it found. Not graphs you have to interpret — sentences like "the delay keeps changing, which is what makes calls break up".

IT SEPARATES YOUR WI-FI FROM YOUR LINE
NetScope times your router separately from the internet beyond it. If the router answers slowly, the weak part is the Wi-Fi hop in your own home — moving closer or changing channel will help. If the router is fast and the internet is slow, the problem is upstream and no amount of rearranging furniture will fix it.

WHAT IT MEASURES
• Latency, sampled repeatedly, plus the jitter between samples — jitter is what actually breaks up a call
• Packet loss
• Your router's own response time
• DNS lookup times, the most common fixable cause of a fast line that feels slow
• Download and upload throughput

SEE WHAT ELSE IS ON YOUR NETWORK
NetScope knocks on every address in your subnet and listens for anything announcing itself over Bonjour, then names what it finds: routers, printers, speakers, TVs, computers, other phones.

INDIVIDUAL TOOLS
Latency, DNS and speed are all runnable on their own, against any host you type in.

PRIVACY
Latency, DNS and device scanning all run from your iPhone and nothing is stored or transmitted. The one exception is the speed test, which uses Cloudflare's public speed endpoint — and only when you ask for it. NetScope only ever scans the network your iPhone is already on.
