Only thing that sucks is that it doesn’t have a dedicated Apple car play app so I can control it from my car screen like the others, gotta use my phone. I love the simplicity of just finding a podcast and hitting play. I just recently left Spotify to use This App Exclusively and I’m not looking back! For me Spotify would get very distracting with all the different videos and art works and such. Just the beautifully simple design of this app has been amazing! The simplicity and design make this one of the best podcast apps to USE. It just feels good. The only complaint I have is there is no cloud syncing for the shoes you subscribe to. Each time I get a new phone, I have to resubscribe to all my shoes again and I’ve even forgotten about shoes because I didn’t remember to resubscribe. The app appearance and interface performance are actually the client’s strongest side and its standout feature. Since basic features for 3-party clients (like the ones mentioned above) are still missing, I can’t give this a 5-star review even if I wanted to. I also dislike that sharing a podcast episode only gives you a link to the Neuecast website. Audio levels seems to jump around during an hour listening. ### 3/5 — Rough user experience *2026-02-16, version 1.11* Fond of the time-based feed and ease of ‘subscription’ to pods, but performance is quite poor (many view do not load until app is restarted - this has become a major frustration) and UI is unintuitive (no clear indicators of if I’m searching for a pod or episodes within a pod, episode playback menu in an odd spot, etc) ### 3/5 — This app has promise, but do your research before subscribing *2025-11-30, version 1.10.1* I subscribed to this app after seeing Marques Brownlee talk about it on YouTube. The app is free to download BUT the free version will not let you do a thorough evaluation. The subscription was approximately AUD15 so I subscribed. I set up the app on my iPad mini using my subscriptions list/file from Pocket Casts and all seemed fine. Now I needed to repeat the setup on my iPhone and iPad Air. I presumed all my settings and subscriptions would be available via iCloud sync. NO! Neuecast DOES NOT use iCloud. All devices need to be setup manually. This then causes another problem which will be ongoing. Podcasts played on and deleted from one device WILL NOT be deleted on other devices — you need to do that manually. This app cannot be recommended if you have more than one iOS device. I contacted the developer but there has been NO response. To make matters even worse; Apple will not refund the purchase even after a detailed explanation of the app’s shortcomings. BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU BUY ### 3/5 — Almost There *2025-11-29, version 1.10.1* I’m a big fan of this app and while it is very good, there’s a few things really getting in the way of it being completely usable. The default way of queuing a podcast still streams instead of downloading, but the playback is not reliable. So even with stable Internet, many times the next episode in your queue just flat out won’t play and there’s no way to get it to play, pausing and retry, etc. not sure what’s going on there but not something you want to have happen while driving and it happens frequently enough. If this app were to download or at least give the option to download everything in your queue, I think most of its major problems would be fixed. Quality of life things, would be nice to have the option to automatically add episodes of specific podcasts to either the top or bottom of the queue like how pocket casts does it. ### 3/5 — Solid podcast app *2025-11-12, version 1.8.1* I love how simple and clean this podcast app is—it just works without any fuss. I really want to support the developer, but honestly, the $10 premium price is a bit steep for what you get. I can see the price being more reasonable around $4.99 for what the app offers, but at $10, it’s hard to justify the value.
