I like the app but this is something that really needs to change **Developer response:** We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the recent bug where periods were read out as “dot” and pauses at punctuation were missing. This issue has now been fixed. If you generate new audio, sentences will pause naturally and periods will no longer be pronounced. We truly appreciate your patience and support while we resolved this. ### 3/5 — No highlight feature *2025-08-27, version 2.4.17* The app needs to be able to highlight text as it reads it. So users know where they are in their reading. ### 4/5 — Good but with faults *2024-04-05, version 2.4.2* It's one of the best to choose but makes mistakes when coming to different features of sentences. Mathematical components can be ignored especially powers so incorrectly reads a sun then can read abreviations as a non existent word in the sentence at times while another time as the abbreviation even if they are common. It also rapidly reads through bullet points never pausing one after another as they should be heard as separate sentences. Sometimes the GB voices are making pronounciation of specific words how an American or some other country would pronounce it not UK English. This is all no different on the internet browser installed or pc downloaded versions do make mistakes. If these mistakes were tidied up it would be perfected widening it's capabilities so reducing all the mistakes I've experienced it making. ### 3/5 — Why dose it do this? *2023-08-16, version 2.3.15* So this is personally the BEST app I have used to get physical assignments read off to me, but at the same time their is a problem. Whenever I take a photo and get it translated, it reads the bottom and then starts at the top. I have no idea why it dose that but I would like ti know if I’m being stupid or if it’s the app. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2023-03-21, version 2.3.15* It’s one of the best I have found in terms of voice and how natural it sounds HOWEVER it does skip some parts of the text (like a bulletpoint that begins after the column sign) I found It’s not ideal for extraction of text from a book with images like a textbook for example. And it’s such a shame. If these minor issues are fixed I don’t mind the PRO price of 15$pm (or 116$ for the year) I will update the review the more I use it. ### 2/5 — The communication is good but the price is ridiculous. *2023-01-10, version 2.3.13* $30 usd for 120,000 words is absurd, I can’t even get through a book with that. They should have an option for unlimited. ### 3/5 — Demi *2022-06-23, version 2.2.2* Used the demo and as everyone else said the voices are pretty amazing BUT the pricing is absurd. The monthly’s are only their to get you to go yearly an the platinum is twice as much as an Amazon prime membership!! Sometimes it’s smarter for companies to charge a reasonable price and get far more subscribers. Your going to have to make an unlimited version with a reasonable price if you want to dominate this space. ### 3/5 — Not Free *2022-05-10, version 2.2.1* This is a natural voice and sounds great but there is a subscription needed. So if you are looking a free TTS don’t bother. ### 5/5 — Most natural voice *2022-05-02, version 2.2.1* I never give reviews, but I had to give one to this app. The voices are so natural! ### 4/5 — Sounds natural but could use some changes *2022-04-17, version 2.1.7* Wish it auto-scrolled and highlighted while reading. Also the Pro version only reading 6k words is kind of annoying. 10-20k words would be more reasonable. I have used Audible with many of my books but a great deal of their readers are very hard to listen to. I have found that with Neural Reader the U.K. voice of George is perfect for everything I read.
