I’ve got two of these in my home (2 transfer switch system) and haven’t seen a more buggy and unreliable system in a long time. This app is trash, plain and simple. Never could get two of the sensors to work in a single view (or any view for that matter). I’ll honestly rip the hole thing and replace it with a purpose-built and reliable monitoring package. Avoid PWRview, it’s poorly designed, buggy, slow, and just plain trash. ### 1/5 — Buy a mediocre startup company and let it die *2022-01-06* Generac bought neurio, a mediocre startup with good hardware and mediocre app, removed features, made zero improvements, somehow made the app even slower and more useless, and clearly doesn’t care about existing or future users in this space. The app is total crap, works half the time, and website is still just as bad. Obviously, don’t buy this hardware anymore if you’re looking - try a different product with better functionality and app. If you already have a neurio, great - you’ll get to see usage most of the time hopefully. But don’t expect much else. Or literally anything else. ### 1/5 — Generac does not seem to care about quality *2021-11-14* Generac is completely aware of issues with this app, I have spoken to them about it. They give it lip service and say they will fix, but they don’t even try as can be seen by frequency of releases. It’s probably safe to assume that if they don’t care about the quality of the app they probably also don’t care about the quality of their generators, so I will find another brand that cares. Very disappointed. Seriously it’s amazing that a major brand simply does not care about the propensity of one star reviews. Unbelievable. ### 1/5 — Now with added uselessness *2021-09-13* The app has had all useful functions removed by generac. No appliance detection any longer. No granular data nor ability scale the reports in any useful way. My utility company gives me better graphical data for free. I’ve deleted it and reinstalled and still same thing. ### 1/5 — PWRview crap *2021-04-25* I started using the app when I had a generator installed last November 2020. It worked initially but now does not. By the looks of things this has been a problem for a couple of years. I will leave this here and I’m going over to the generator review site and let the future customers know that generac is providing false advertising for part of their product. ### 1/5 — Use to be great! *2021-04-23* When we installed our solar over a year ago we also got the Neurio and it worked great. It was informative and allowed us to track our power generation versus our power consumption. For while now, however, it has become virtually useless. Usually there is no data that comes and on the rare occasion data does appear it is complete gibberish. I understand it is now General. Do you care?? ### 1/5 — Used to love this app *2021-04-03* I have solar on my house. I used this app all the time. It was my go to for power consumption and generation. Now the app works rarely and is so frustrating. Neurio was great until Generac took over. Once the new app was installed with thir branding the app stopped functioning. They need to do better. ### 1/5 — What is going on? *2021-03-28* Hard to tell. Am I generating power? I don’t know. Am I using power? I don’t know. How much does electricity cost? I know this! But not in the terms the app wants. Does the sensor seem to work? Yes! But doesn’t translate the information into anything useful. Overall the app and system are worthless to me. I listened to my electricians make fun of the solar guys but my expectation is that the solar guys know how to install and configure it properly which clearly is not the case. This really shouldn’t be that hard but I don’t know. ### 1/5 — App abandoned for years now *2021-01-24* Over the past years, the only app updates were related to branding. The app itself is outdated and isn’t optimized for current iPhones. The user interface has several issues making it unusable. Fortunately, there is a web app that works ok. I hope the company can pickup the development of this app soon! ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2021-01-13, version 1.20.2* I have never gotten this to work properly to see the data. I have to remove it and reload..I will get one time info then it goes blank again. Horrible experience. ### 1/5 — Junk *2020-10-04, version 1.20.1* When Neurio wasn’t owned by generac everything worked fine, since they “joined generac” the app is trash, it won’t even display live usage, yes I have the most up to date version. Should have left it alone. ### 1/5 — No big screen (iPhone X) support *2020-09-25, version 1.20.1* 5 months since the last update and was getting excited for some changes and still no support for iPhone X big screens? Seriously? You have big screen support for your other PWRView apps (for PWRCell), when can we expect the same? ### 1/5 — Sure Miss Neurio App *2020-08-05, version 1.20.0* The app worked much better and was more reliable when it was Neurio. The app used to have solid performance in reporting in real time our solar generation Vs. consumption for over 2 years of operation. Since Generac has taken over the app it stays in a learning mode and the app, hardware and software are virtually useless ### 1/5 — Nearly unusable in iOS night mode. *2020-08-03, version 1.20.0* Can’t switch locations in night mode because locations are in black text on a black background. Need to make this app more user friendly otherwise people won’t continue buying these units. Make it easier to switch locations from the main screen or a bottom button. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Abandoned *2024-05-14* Abandonware. Hasn’t been updated in about a decade so not adapted to the screen sizes of modern phones. I think this of an iPhone 3G or something?! No support ### 1/5 — No longer works - end of support? *2023-05-23* For years the Neurio app worked. Sure it has some quirks but it did work. Generac for whatever reason seems as though they stripped the neurio product of features and left it now most recently no longer operation. Historical is now no longer working. As of today, can no longer get a working live wattage. The other generac PWRview app doesn’t function with the neurio at all. There are several options out there to self monitor the neurio system locally. All sensor values are alive and well in the device webpage, so I guess home assistant is how I’ll use this next. Would be awesome if generac would support the neurio product and put it back into a functional state. ### 1/5 — Return this product while you have a chance *2023-04-21* The app for this product has went downhill substantially ever since Generac bought them out. 99% of the time you can’t see any of your historical data. when contacting support they tell you to log out and log back into your account. That never works and definitely not a solution for an ongoing issue. classic planned obsolescence at play. It’s more and more painful to get the data out of the device. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2022-06-24* The app is the bare-bones basic and really doesn’t offer a full perspective of how your system is operating. We’re struggling to get the tariff information updated and have been told that Generac does not include OPPD yet in their systems. You would expect for a system of this cost that the app would allow you to switch modes remotely on the power panel and monitor and control load shedding options for the system. Some investment to improve the app would certainly result in happier customers. ### 1/5 — The lights are on....but no one is home! *2022-06-11* App hasn’t been updated in ages. History tab no longer works. No push notifications work any longer. Generac bought out Neurio but it’s clear they don’t intend on investing anymore in the product other than adding their name to the app. Only gives the basic usage information currently. I wouldn’t buy any Generac products based on this type of experience. ### 1/5 — No good on iPhone XR *2022-05-18* Works ok on my old Samsung S5 but can’t get any functionality on my iPhone XR. It’s obvious that Generac bought this to engineer their own PWRVIEW product and has nothing for this old thing. Going to get the SolarEdge consumption meter and throw this thing away. At least I can reuse the CT’s. ### 1/5 — Only getting worse *2022-05-08* This device and app / web used to work well until generac took over, app is getting slower and slower, we have 4 of these devices and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, will probably remove them soon and replace with a different brand. I would give 0 stars if able! ### 1/5 — The app is brutal *2022-04-15* The app used to be ok, now it is terrible. The history page is just a blank screen everytime I try to go to it. This used to be cool and informative to view your power monitor data. What a waste of money to buy and install a power monitor that you can’t see any data. ### 1/5 — Very poor performance *2022-04-04* This device looses wifi signal steady and when I open the app I get no data available. I have a top top if the line wifi mesh network in my house. Not one of my other devices looses connection. My router is also in the same room. Not recommend. ### 1/5 — Getting worse every day. *2022-03-17* I’ve used this app since it was owned by Neurio. It used to be great. Now it doesn’t work most of the time. It can’t load current data 80% of the time, and can’t load the history view now 99% of the time. Something is broken and they aren’t fixing it. Please fix it! I tried deleting app reinstall still will not open on iPhone X ### 4/5 — Would be 5 stars if... *2020-01-08* The “my home” usage graph needs to be interactive. It should scroll back along an actual timeline to see detailed usage stats. ### 4/5 — So far so good *2019-08-17* Lots of negative reviews regarding responsiveness of the app...so far so good for me (just installed today 8/17). I would take those with a grain of salt as the apps responsiveness is heavily dependent on the connection speed and quality of the homes wifi network. For reference, I have a Netgear Orbi mesh system, am seeing plenty strong WiFi speed/strength at my main panel. Install was relatively easy, though I ended up having to invert my phases after install, which took a bit of support searching to find the advanced settings to do so. I also have solar monitoring and can confirm that the real time feedback of Neurio mirrors the generation figures I am seeing on my separate monitoring app supplied by my solar installer. On the consumption side, the reporting is near instant when a device cycles on (example A/C, pool pump, microwave, coffee machine). Loving the data so far and can’t wait to see what kind of stats I can play with once it does some learning. For all of those complaining about the iphoneX scaling—BFD...the app UI works just fine, regardless of not scaling full screen. People are petty. For what it’s worth, I was originally going to install a Sense CT monitoring system, but their CT clamps were too large for my bottom fed bus bar style main panel. Neurio’s “universal CT” clamps were the PERFECT low profile fit for my setup, so that alone made this system worth it! ### 3/5 — Wanted to love it *2018-05-16* I'm disappointed. I was an early adopter and the app/interface was great for a while then things changed. The hardware is the best out there but the software is holding the whole thing back. I haven't seen a single improvement in over a year. In fact, it's gotten worse as time has gone on. Neurio WILL NOT make it if you guys don't step it up. ### 2/5 — Worked great before Generac bought Neurio *2023-05-05* It seems that Generac has severely decreased the performance of this application and service to the point of breaking it since purchasing it from Neurio. Is Generac phasing it out? If so I am considering switching to Sense. If this is an example of Generac commitment to quality, I must reconsider my intention to purchase additional products from Generac ### 2/5 — Outdated app *2020-10-28, version 1.20.2* Generac needs to get with the program. This app is obviously neglected. Neurio was much better before Generac bought it. An old school brand takes over a new school product and quickly ruins it. ### 2/5 — Needs some work.. *2020-06-13, version 1.20.0* This app has real potential but needs some cleaning up. At the very least, it should fill the entire screen. ### 2/5 — This app has gone downhill. *2020-01-12, version 1.19.6* Ever since Generac took over Neurio, the app has slowly lost functionality. First it was missing history, then the “ Always On” data stopped updating, now the app persists in coming up with the “ No Data Available” thing and fails all together. I am sad. This used to be a great app, now, not so much. ### 2/5 — Generac *2019-09-24, version 1.19.3* Generac version is not showing history for me on my iphone. It also does not show the solid sliding graphics of power real time as nicely as the blue and white graphics by Neurio did. ### 2/5 — Turning into a waste of money *2019-09-24* I’ve had nothing but issues with this system. It rarely stays linked and the app is anything but detailed. Currently my Neurio is connected but my location doesn’t show up in the app or on the web interface. I’m giving up and moving onto something else.
