## What is NeuroCards?

NeuroCards is a calm place to study. One card at a time, at the moment you're about to forget it, with nothing else competing for your attention.

SPACED REPETITION
Each card returns just as it starts to slip, so every review counts and nothing is wasted. Choose how hard to push at the start, and see how much you'll remember at each pace before you begin. A short daily session keeps your streak going.

MAKE A DECK IN SECONDS
Paste your notes or pick a PDF, and NeuroCards makes a deck of short, exam-style cards, with a note on anything it corrected or left out. Or write cards yourself, or import them from a CSV or text file. Keep your decks in files? Update a deck, or a whole folder of them, from a newer copy, and every card the file still has keeps its review history.

MADE FOR REAL SUBJECTS
• Maths and science in LaTeX, rendered properly on both sides of a card
• Markdown for emphasis and lists
• Folders for every subject, with search across all your cards
• A dyslexia-friendly card font

EVERYWHERE YOU STUDY
• iPhone, iPad and Mac, in step with the web app at neurocards.net
• Review on Apple Watch, straight from your wrist
• A Home Screen widget with what's due today
• A Live Activity that keeps your session on the Lock Screen
• Reviews made offline sync when you're back online

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
Your streak, a calendar of study days, and how much you're holding in mind over time.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No ads and no tracking. Material you turn into cards is read by an AI model with zero data retention, so it isn't kept once your cards are made, and it's never used for training. Delete your account and everything in it from the app at any time.

A free account is needed to keep your cards in step across devices. Deck generation has a weekly limit.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-10-10

- NeuroCards is now in French, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish
- Apple Watch complications no longer cut off their text
- Settings has a Reminder: a notification in the evening on days you haven't studied. It is off until you switch it on
- Settings has a switch for the Live Activity that shows a study session on the Lock Screen
- On Apple Watch a review shows less text: one line for the card's side and the cards left

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-06

Fixes since 1.1.

- Importing cards over a poor connection no longer adds the same cards twice when the import is tried again
- Signing out on iPhone clears Apple Watch even when the iPhone's clock has been changed

### 1.1 — 2026-10-04

Everything since 1.0 (6), the biggest first.

- Update a deck from a newer copy of its file, or a whole folder of decks at once. Cards the file still has keep their review history, and you see every change before it is made
- When the app has changes a file doesn't, save the file back with them in it, laid out as before
- NeuroCards is now in Spanish and German: the app, its widgets and the Apple Watch app
- Runs on iOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10
- Settings shows what your choices do: a chart of the cards you'll hold in mind over the first month under Study pace, and a forgetting curve under the interval modifier
- On the Mac, Settings is laid out like the web app's, with its segmented controls, typed number fields and sliders
- On the Mac, Edit library is rebuilt: click a row to select it, and drag its handle to reorder, with the page scrolling as you reach its edge
- On the Mac, pages change in place rather than sliding, menus and dropdowns are the app's own, and spacing and alignment are tidied throughout
- Settings has an About page, with the app's version and links to the NeuroCards website and the docs
- Advanced scheduling has a page of its own in Settings, so Settings itself is shorter
- From iOS 26, a sheet's main action (Add, Save, Create) is a blue button once it can be pressed
- The arrow on a deck card sits in the middle of the card
- On the Mac, the sidebar's account card closes when you click elsewhere, and Docs has moved from it to About
- Fixes: a deck opened on Apple Watch keeps its cards while iPhone is in use, widgets move on at midnight, and saving an export over a file on the Mac can no longer lose the file

### 1.0 — 2026-10-02
