Increasing our fretboard fluency allows us to translate our auditory imagination into musical expression, so we can play what we hear.

I always did well in ear training class in music school. I was the king of solfège in my school. This app has pushed me to improve so far beyond that. 

Don’t let that intimidate you though. It’s also beginners. It’s rare that you find an app that has the potential to improve your musical skill no matter how far you are along in your journey.

I've been looking for a guitar-specific ear training app for years now and was overjoyed to find Neurofret! This is everything that I hoped an app like this would be. The layout is beautiful and I'm amazed by the amount of features. The best thing for me is that there are all kinds of open tuning options for the fretboard. 

I've recently been playing exclusively in Open D and this app is going to be a lifesaver in getting my fretboard fluency up to speed in that tuning. Beyond that, when I ran into a small bug and reached out to the developers about it, Jake was extremely kind and worked to fix it immediately. If you're a guitarist of any skill level, download this app!

I’d love it if there was a feature that allows you to repeat each shape a few times to really lock it into your muscle memory :)
