Overall, the questions are a bit of a mixed bag with difficulties widely ranging from novice to expert. The explanations are generally quite good. Every once in a while, there could be more detail on why a specific answer is incorrect. My biggest complaint, however, is that the app will frequently not allow me to login. This really only started occurring when the app began requiring login via web browser upon every start. You used to be able to login directly through the app. I’m not entirely sure why this changed, but it has certainly been a change for the worse. There are days where I cannot do the question because of this error. ### 2/5 — Broken with latest update *2025-08-29, version 3.0.2* The latest update required logging in and linking to the main website. It opens up the browser then the app to login. I’m often tempted to not complete the QOD because the app only logs me in successfully 1/3 of the time. It worked much better prior to the update. ### 3/5 — AAN.com log in flow *2025-08-24, version 3.0.2* The app is great, but it’s a pain having to log in through AAN every time instead of logging in directly through the app. I wish they would restore the app login to the way it was previously. ### 2/5 — New update making login difficult *2025-08-22, version 3.0.2* Since the most recent update 3.0.2, there is a new log in flow where it routes me to aan.com but then on iOS safari it routes me back to the app and says log in failed. I have tried logging in separately to aan.com on my safari which sometimes works, other times not. It is always hit or miss whether the app opens or not. This is not a good new feature and it makes log in significantly difficult. You still get two stars for the concept because the QoD is invaluable for board prep. Very little for us dedicated outpatient adult neurology physicians. No questions yet on Migraine, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, tremor, neuropathy, the bread and butter of neurology. Update: 20 questions in and I really feel like this is a pediatric and hospital neurology app. Lots of zebras in these woods and little appropriate for the practicing outpatient general neurologist. I ask my residents to make it a part of their daily tasks. The downside? Ever since iOS got updated to iOS 16, notifications bugged out and leads to the app crashing every time it’s launched by directly tapping on the notification. The only work around is launching the app directly. ### 3/5 — CME bug *2023-07-06* Unable to claim CME’s which is really frustrating; also wish app was more interactive. ### 1/5 — THE MOST BROKEN APP KNOWN TO MAN *2023-04-29, version 1.8.0* The app is the most broken. It doesn’t load for days. So there’s no such thing as a streak, it breaks and shuts down on its own, it loads for a long time, they make you sign in everytime which is ridiculous but the worst part, the most infuriating part is the fact that they have you pick the answer right, and they have a bit of an explanation of the correct answer but the app is so stupid you’ve picked the right answer and the explanation supports this BUT THEN THEY SCORE YOU WRONG BECAUSE THEIR APP SELECTED A WRONG ANSWER. like i pay you people so much money for membership and you cant even hire a BA computer science person to fix your app? its been trash for all the three years I've been using it. This app makes me want to smash my phone instead of learn a tidbit FIX IT. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2023-02-16, version 1.8.0* I can see the question but the green banner at the bottom is unresponsive and I can’t see the answer choices (iPhone13mini). Good app in theory, poorly executed. ### 3/5 — Notification issue and Archive *2022-12-30, version 1.8.0* App will not open from notifications. I have open app manually. Additionally, the app runs very slow. I cannot access the archive (which a notification said was available). I love the idea and the resource but functionally, this app needs more attention. ### 3/5 — Buggy notifications *2022-11-03, version 1.8.0* The app appears to crash whenever it is launched by clicking on any notification sent by the app. The only solution is to launch it directly instead. This issue is present on IOS 16.1. ### 1/5 — Slow and clunky *2022-08-26* This app needs work. It’s very slow to log in and to display the different screens such as the question archive. It’s also a shame that measurements are not given in SI units. It’s silly. I have to keep logging in multiple times. But now I can’t login at all. Despite being a paying member. However, I recently encountered an issue when trying to claim my CME after completing 18 corrected questions. I filled out the feedback questionnaire and entered my email address, but I have yet to receive my certificate. I even checked my junk mail folder, but it wasn't there either. I hope you can assist me with this matter. Right it has a big where you can’t claim your CME, however, once they fix that it’ll be great again. ### 4/5 — Amazing idea *2020-07-02, version 1.02* Love the idea of a daily question to get in a routine to do a small degree of board prep regularly. Wish there was a feedback/help section within the app to provide some less important/picky feedback so I’m just putting it here. First one is that I keep getting reminder push notifications to do my daily question even if I already did the question, which is mildly annoying. Also if there was a way to stay logged in so you don’t have to go through the log in screen every time you open the app that would be so much better. Lastly about the actual questions, as a newbie pgy2 resident I feel it would be nice if explanations went into a little more depth or at the very least provide a couple links to suggested readings/references on the topic. In addition, I feel that all incorrect answers deserve an explanation why they are wrong, makes the overall educational value of a single MCQ question much higher.
