Unfortunately it looks like the mobile version of the game doesn’t actually support simultaneous two-player mode (or I couldn’t figure it out). I bought the game on Nintendo Switch instead and requested an App Store refund. ### 3/5 — Sweet storyline, lovable characters, finicky controls *2022-11-13, version 1.04* This is a gorgeous game. It’s obvious the developers put a lot of love and energy into this game. I loved the inclusion of the spirits as a key element of the game. However, as others have said, the controls are super finicky right when you need them to be reliable. When I try to do a wall jump to escape a polar bear, I really need the jump button to work properly every single time. Unfortunately, my frustration over the controls was such that I had to quit playing and won’t get to experience the end of the story for myself. At least there are plenty of walkthrough videos out there. ### 3/5 — very short gameplay *2022-04-25, version 1.04* As a non-gamer, it took me a week to complete this game. I’m sure more advanced gamers would be able to get through this in half that time or less. As such, the game takes very little time to complete so that’s a definite drawback. It’s easy to get bored. Also, for non-gamers like me, the controls are not that easy to use. You have to have very precise timing and movement in order to get the characters to do what needs to be done or else you’ll be stuck in one puzzle for ages. That can be very frustrating. Also didn’t particularly like how quickly this game drains my phone battery. It makes my phone overheat so quickly. I’m tired of purchasing games that are advertised as anything but, only to find myself more stressed/depressed/anxious while playing than I was before I started. I struggle with lifelong anxiety and complex PTSD (trendy, but I truly do battle it day in, day out, and it’s not fun), and despise platforming action games, but love the escape that truly beautiful, artful little journeys that, sadly, few games seem to proffer. **DEVELOPERS: There are millions of us out here looking for peaceful respite from the brutal world! Missed potential here!** **SLIGHT SPOILERS** The controls are sluggish at best: You drag your finger across the screen to keep your character just inches/nanoseconds from predators, and there’s no way to go any faster...ever! (I much prefer tapping to dragging, it’s usually more efficient to move characters this way) and if you lag or pause for even a moment, you come to a complete standstill, then you’re eaten, graphically and brutally, tossed about and chewed upon, and this unrelenting chase begins almost immediately after a few seconds of background story!! What’s worse, hearing the poor fox’s cries as it’s thrown across the tundra was just too much. I’m an obsessive animal-lover, and having a particular fondness for the vulpine, this was just too much; I couldn’t get past the first few minutes of play. From what I’ve read, it seems that there’s not much more to this game than running and jumping, that the first minute is indicative of how it plays throughout...so, stressful AND boring! What a bargain! More $$ wasted, another game deleted, and it would seem that the developers have abandoned it anyway, so nothing will be improved. They were likely hired as third parties by a group who wanted their story told, but is THIS all they have to say, and how they want to convey it?? This could’ve been a great platform for conveying a culture’s history, the artwork is lovely, and the bones of a great adventure into folk tales and the art of storytelling are there for the telling, but this is NOT it. THIS IS NOT AN “ADVENTURE”! Still, I couldn’t pass on this beautiful story and upon downloading it I found that the controls were easy to navigate and I had absolutely no issues. I just finished the game, and it was just as good, if not better than expected. Also, the cultural insights into the Inupiat people is such an interesting and beautiful feature.
