Almost there
Good concept for an app. The aesthetic execution is great except for the occasional UI padding bug. I appreciate that it doesn't overscope and just tackles the issue of a daily allowance.
However, I expected leftover allowance from previous days to roll over to the next day. Without this, a daily allowance doesn't really make sense as I have to save to buy groceries every week etc. The rollover allowance is why a daily allowance is motivating to me as a budgeting tool.
There are some input issues such as having to press Enter to make a field valid for completing an entry, or having to delete the existing contents of a field before typing, which are a little bit inconvenient but easy to learn.
The app icon and widget look like they were designed in 2002, unappealing gradients and unreadable text on top. But the inside of the app is so beautiful that it's forgivable.
Either way, I can't use this app without rollover, but I greatly appreciate the developers efforts as it's one of the only apps on the app store that mostly captures this niche.
Two other apps that do properly capture the niche *with* rollover are:
- Daily Budget — Simple, Convenient, but Ugly
- Money Manager — Pretty, Versatile, but Complex learning curve
